(You meant "is not conscious" didn't you?) "respiratory arrest" - If I understand correctly, he went without oxygen to the brain for some period of time. Only takes a few minutes for extensive damage to occur. At the wishes of the parents, doctors would not publicly discuss his prognosis. Sounds really bad. Sorry for parents.

Why would Trump encourage the idea that there might be tapes, if the content of those tapes would make him look like a liar? No one was talking about tapes before Trump tweeted about it. If recordings might make Trump look guilty, he would not have encouraged people to think about tapes. He would simply never have mentioned them. When Trump said that Comey "better hope there aren't tapes", it was a threat to Comey. It suggests that Trump believes any recording of the conversation would exonerate Trump and prove that Comey has not been truthful. Now, somehow Comey and others are suggesting that the opposite is true- that tapes would exonerate Comey and show that Trump is the one lying. Someone is lying, and since Trump could've entirely avoided any mention of tapes, I tend to doubt it's him.

Well, assuming that to be true, why should Comey even be particularly concerned about the existence of tapes? Because - LITERALLY! - "if he did nothing wrong, he has nothing to worry about:)" - it's his world. Tapes should only corroborate Comey as long as he's been telling the truth - and they still wouldn't really damn Trump, IMO. (I think the quotes Comey attributes to Trump are way too weak to be considered trying to obstruct justice.) WHO stands to be made to look worse if tapes come out? If everything Comey has said is accurate - it still fails to show that Trump did anything illegal. So, what is everyone clamoring for? Does the media/establishment just want to conjure up images of Watergate by focusing on "tapes" that probably don't even exist?

What I'm hearing is something like - he'd already been fired so his personal memos weren't government documents or classified - but not everyone is buying this. Trumps lawyer says it was "privileged communications".

Re the “I hope” statement: This isn't a realistic comparison. The case being cited involves two people who are already known to have committed a crime - one is in jail, the other is giving information about the crime in order to avoid procecution. Trump hasn't even been accused of crime.

So what? As it is, they turned their viewpoints on a dime because that's what it took to attack Trump. What difference does the lapse of time make? People were talking about impeachment since the day he won. Building the attack is all that mattered to them, not which pretense they attack him with.

No way! They were already investigating this and they still would've said Trump fired him because of the investigation and that he was rash about the firing, didn't follow the proper process, etc. It wouldn't have made any difference.

Comey had all kinds of preconceived notions about Trump because he wasn’t “one of them”. No wonder he didn’t want to be alone with him - he just plain hates him! His prejudice existed before the first meeting and colored all his assumptions about Trump’s words.

I saw that, too and it's the narrative the media is going with. But if the statements about them not being pressured are true - then it can't ALSO be true, that Trump DID tell them to drop the investigation. It has to be one or the other. I don't know why they didn't answer it. They implied this open hearing wasn't the place for it, and that they wanted to let Comey answer. I can totally see a novice president tossing out an off-the-cuff remark like "Gee, I hope in the end you can let him go 'cause I think he's a good guy." Informally expressing a hope, is a far cry from pushing to shut down an investigation - but we all know how the media would portray it if they answered "yes" - even over a comment that was not a serious request.

Yet, I just watched a couple of top intelligence officials testify live, that they never felt pressured to end the investigation. Sounds to me like Trump has been vindicated. We should know better, than to read a headline and assume it’s the whole truth. Dan Coates - Director of National Intelligence: "In my time of service in interacting with the President of the United States, or anybody in his administration, I have never been pressured, I have never felt pressure to intervene or interfere in any way with shaping intelligence in a political way or in relationship to an ongoing investigation" Mike Rogers - NSA Director: “I have never been directed to do anything I believe to be illegal, immoral, unethical or inappropriate...”

Here are more definitions of aggression. It doesn't only apply to unprovoked physical acts. Intentionally inflicting damage on another person, their character, or their property is aggression. Yeah, when your main goal is to create a sex video you can amuse your friends with - without an okay from one participant - I suppose you can refer to that as being "overly assertive". It FORCES one person to be part of something they disapprove of - LIKE SLAVERY! I get ya about phrases like "serious aggression". The term is over used, but also succinct. I get the impression that few here recognize how truly traumatic it must've been for this girl to have the sex video spread around - and spread by someone she had trusted. It’s a whole lot more upsetting than some empty threat about being labeled a pedophile or sexual predator! (Pffffft! Don’t make me laugh.) If you're going to lump me in with some set of “you people” for using a word that's been bastardized by SJWs - eh, whatever. I shrug.

Am I the only one that checked the link to the Chicago Tribune? “On Jan. 11… she had learned” means she had not known about the film earlier, so obviously, he had not told her he was going to record her. She never consented to any of it. I didn't "assume" this. “a sexual encounter they had shortly before Christmas” indicates that the person who reported the incident, is the same one who had the sexual encounter - the "mortified" girl. Finally, she wouldn't have been "mortified" if she had consented to being filmed and exhibited.

She consented to have sex with one specific person. She did not consent to perform a sex act so that it could be recorded and then viewed and discussed, over and over again, by who-knows-how-many of this little bastard's friends. This wasn't going to stop till someone intervened. Do you think it was just a little joke on her and that she can just shrug her shoulders and move on? I assure you this girl is no less devastated than if she'd experienced forceful insertion. There’s a claim that some non-participating individual told authorities about it. If so, was it some trouble making busy-body? Or was it one of the girl’s friends - who’s now witnessing how distraught her friend is and listening to her talk about suicide? Do some of you think she deserves what’s happened because she’s a “slut”? She had sex one time that we know of. This is not a clue into what kind of person she is. Do you think “it’s her own fault” and “she should’ve known better”? She probably thinks the same thing herself... all day long. But what she needed to know, was that this kid was lying about what he was planning to do to her!

Only because where there's sex, there's going to be unwanted pregnancy...followed by decisions. (Maybe this only occurs to people who can get pregnant.) I guess I just see the cop story as less significant than the thoughtlessness of what the kid did. Mean cop? Why would anyone expect tenderness? It's a pretty brutal thing that this boy did to another person. I wouldn't expect loving care from the cop under the circumstances. Not calling for a new law here, but what he did to her was rape-like, if not rape itself. (The two sources of the story seem to contractict who "told". One says it was another student, but the other seems to say the girl involved is the one that went to the dean. Neither dwelled on the point.)

Using the same logic, the boy could've just kept his dick in his own hand. He wouldn't have gotten in trouble and he'd still be alive... but let's be realistic. He could've simply had sex without secretly filming this girl - with the malicious intention of later publicizing it and debasing her to impress his friends. If he were up front about his intentions, she could've made a decision about whether or not she actually wanted to get close to such a child. I'm guessing not. Anyone think otherwise? She was on the level. He was not. She had no malicious intentions, while his intentions were cruel and self-serving. Why should she be ostracized, while he be pitied? As far as the cop goes, this is the lamest "cops suck" story I've seen here. He "scared" him? What should he have done? shoot him? arrest him? Any man with a daughter or sister is going to be repulsed by what this kid did. His parents spoiled him. Supposedly, it was the first time the kid got in trouble in his life and he couldn't handle the criticism - which he deserved. Eh. This attitude that a teenage girl who has sex - even once - deserves any and all suffering, is one reason that teenage girls have abortions. No one wants to wear that scarlet letter for the rest of their life. As long as this belief remains "normal" you will not see abortion outlawed. It's just reality.

I find it incredible that anyone could view this is as nothing but a case of consensual sex between teenagers. The article tells us nothing about the girl or the relationship between the two. Did any of you even notice that? It's as if she has no connection to the incident at all. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-naperville-north-suicide-20170522-story.html (and note that it states she is the one that told the dean, not some third party) Did this girl consent to having herself filmed AND having that film spread all over, whereby (admit it!) she would most likely be labeled as a world class slut - not for one day, but for years afterward? The Chicago Tribune story tells us the girl only learned about the video after it had already been shown around to their peers and was in fact “mortified” over it. Notice, we don’t see the girl talking to the press because she’s likely hiding. No one’s making her out to be a victim. (On 2nd thought, that's not quite true - obviously the school and the cop consider her a victim. Not the written articles, though.) Yet, consider the normal teenage girl who consents to sex with someone she cares about, only to find out later that he’s stabbed her in the back - not just used her - but very publicly made her the butt of ongoing SLUT gossip that will follow her for years.
