"Trust" is a word I would never use towards a politician - but I'm guessing that Trump would do less irreparable damage than Biden AND with champions like Massie and Rand in positions to affect change and pressure Trump, we can win some battles and live to fight another day. That's some improvement over simply voting the lesser of 2 evils and as good as I expect it to get. I don't know if the same can be said of RFK because he seems to retain that instinctual democrat need to always come off as “the nicest”, the most caring guy - which leads to stupid, unfair policies. I don't want to see the well-being of American citizens sacrificed so that a politician can look "nice" and feel good about himself while he deals with illegal aliens, Israel, Palestine, or whatever much-lobbied-for group of pains-in-Americans'-asses are crying the loudest at the moment. Could he ever say "NO! Americans come first!” to our most show-cased victims? Of course we know Biden's people just plain hate us all and would do anything they can get away with to make our very ideas illegal. Honestly, we need Massie and the Pauls to create a separate party revolving around Ron Paul's principles. I don’t see it happening this year, and until it comes my expectations will remain low.

Towards the end of 2016 Trump pretended to have a truce with Chris Christie and later made him "opioid czar" or something like that. For a while, Christie got to feel he was a part of things, but in the end he didn't get to do much and kind of faded away and disappeared - then went back to expressing his contempt for Trump. I anticipate that Trump's comment about Nikki Haley was a similar move - just made to stay on the good side of her supporters for the votes - it is politics after all. While I'm somewhat concerned about him making a positive comment about Haley, I don't feel the need to freak out over it yet.

(Just in case anyone doesn't know: If you have TV w/access to C-Span (regular Cspan, not 2 or 3) the convention is airing live right now - even though it's not listed in the TV guide) They seem intent on getting Ron Paul speaking right on time, although they are having ballotting going on at the moment. "We don't want to keep Dr Paul waiting."

Trumps speech is live on Cspan right now. ("Libaterians") There's some cheering, but a lot of booing, and yelling too. I heard "End the Fed" chants at one point. There are a lot of "Free Ross" signs... "Free Ross!" chants right now... ah, Trump just said "He's already served 11 years. We're gonna get him home." "End the Fed!" chants again. He's requesting they nominate him - or - at least give him their vote, which seems to draw a lot of boos. Trump not getting all the love he usually does, from this crowd. update: Done.

Thank you, but would you mind posting a few examples (before and after) to illustrate the change I'm supposed to make to the URL? Do I just replace twitter.com with any of the many urls listed on that page? or are there other steps? No download required? ------- Also ------- My own twitter update ----- About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that - even though I have no twitter account - I can now see the latest tweets of Thomas Massie and Rand Paul (still can't see the replies though.) It seems some change has been made which allows non-accounts to view their new tweets - Maybe there is some provision which allows an exception for official congress member/senators accounts? Perhaps an account holder can set an option that allows this? These are the only 2 accounts I've experienced this with - I still can't see anyone else's new tweets.

Things did change a lot after the 70s. I attribute it to the end of Bretton Woods in 1971. I think it took the whole decade for the resulting damage to snowball, and really become apparent to non-rich people. It’s not like they warned the general population outright about how bad things were about to get. Inflation became more and more significant throughout the 70s. It was discussed constantly! It was a favorite topic of comedians (See old Johnny Carson monologues.) Every politician promised they were going to stop inflation. By the mid 70s, "shrinkflation" was already a thing. I can't remember when penny candy became extinct - I think it was the 80s. Don’t know what part of the country your brothers were in, but in my neck of the woods things were not that rosy. As a young person it was not possible to pay rent AND save up money to buy a brand new car with cash, or make a down payment on a house while you were still in your early 20s. For above-minimum-wage pay, you had to “know” someone (a relative or family friend) that could get you into a higher paying job. This was the case even if you just wanted any factory job with decent benefits, say, at the Ford plant or Westinghouse. (This was once a reliable way to support your family.) During the 70s the factories had already started closing down. There was no such thing as an "apprenticeship" and if "internships" happened, they weren't advertising for them in the papers. You had to be accepted by a union, so you had to either know someone, or fulfill a quota to get hired. (The concept of racial DEI isn’t new, it just wasn’t admitted to.) No one remembers that every day, the media was always using terms like “joblessness” and “unemployment crisis”. Of course, I’m from a state that’s always had a lot of corruption and that has it’s effect.
