Ever read Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee? Know why that book was officially despised? It's about a young woman throwing a hissy because she catches her father being practical. And the reason Theye don't want you to read it is because the young liberal airhead is considerably more conservative than any Team Red Guy on this forum. That's how far wrong we've gone. We don't know how well things work when government doesn't do them. The idea doesn't even occur to people. GOP primary voters keep obediently falling in love with whoever gets whined about most on CNN, been doing it since CNN was founded nearly forty years ago, and they're threatening to lock us up and inject us with unidentified stuff that causes inflammation, suppresses the immune system, and is delivered by graphene nanotubes. What was that famous definition of insanity, again? I don't care who CNN talks smack about the most, particularly if he's cashing paychecks from Big Pharma. If I can't find a good He Who Must Not Be Named, the GOP can take a flying leap.

Please, please, please tell me that's a rhetorical question. The man can't go along with whatever New York liberal/Big Pharma tool the MSM is pretending to hate most just because he has the right capital letter next to his name, but you expect him to slobber on massive interventions in the free market for the same lame reason? Bryan, judging by how many members vanished in 2016, and the fact nobody learned a damned thing from that, don't expect there to be anything left of this place by 2025.

Why do you keep reverting to, doesn't like Team Red, must like Team Blue? Is that your default position? Do you just snap back to that every time you reboot? How do we give you an infraction for popping off with these insults? There's only two things required to dislike both DeSantis and Chester the Molester: Eyes and brains.

I favor the policy of economy, not because I wish to save money, but because I wish to save people. The men and women of this country who toil are the ones who bear the cost of the government. Every dollar we carelessly waste means that their life will be so much the more meager. Every dollar that we prudently save means that their life will be so much the more abundant. Economy is idealism in its most practical form.'--Calvin Coolidge 'Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. It may not be difficult to store up in the mind a vast quantity of facts within a comparatively short time, but the ability to form judgments requires the severe discipline of hard work and the tempering heat of experience and maturity.'--Calvin Coolidge There is danger of disappointment and disaster unless there be a wider comprehension of the limitations of the law. The attempt to regulate, control, and prescribe all manner of conduct and social relations is very old. It was always the practice of primitive peoples. Such governments assumed jurisdiction over the action, property, life, and even religious convictions of their citizens down to the minutest detail. A large part of the history of free institutions is the history of the people struggling to emancipate themselves from all of this bondage.'--Calvin Coolidge 'The underlying theory of the American form of Government is the rule of the people through their representatives, thus creating a republic. There were those who distrusted popular sovereignty, still more who distrusted all forms of monarchy; out of their deliberations came not any form of monarchy nor a pure democracy, but a republic, in which all functions of government are to be executed by chosen representatives, acting under constitutional restraints dictated by reason alone, but in all things and at all times recognizing and declaring the sovereignty of the people and the supremacy of their will expressed in accordance with prevailing law.'--Calvin Coolidge 'If ever the citizen comes to feel that our government does not protect him in the free and equal assertion of his rights at home and abroad, he will withdraw his allegiance from that government, as he ought to, and bestow it on some more worthy object. It is idle to assume that the privilege of the strong has been destroyed unless the rights of the weak are preserved. The American theory of government means that back of the humblest citizen, supporting him in all his rights, organized for his protection, stands the whole force of the nation. That is the warrant and the sole warrant of his freedom. He can assert it in the face of all the world. The individual has rights, but only the citizen has the power to protect rights. And the protection of rights is righteous.'--Calvin Coolidge

He doesn't want to listen to others? Why, no. He doesn't. Having heard lie after lie about that "vaccine" with side effects deadlier than the disease which it does not protect against, shoved down his throat by 100% of the radio, 100% of the television and 99% of the internet, he's damned sick of it, and would like to have one place--just one--where he can escape the flood of platitudes, and the presumption this shot is what they say it is. Want people to politely listen to you? Don't brainlessly parrot for the thousand and first time the propaganda we've already heard a thousand times today. You also talk to people like we're children. This isn't because English is your third or fourth language. It's because you're presumptuous. Did you really explain to Madison320 what fractional reserve banking is? That man, for your information, has forgotten more about banking than you'll ever know. He didn't refuse to watch a two minute video because he was waiting for a synopsis. He didn't watch the video for the same reason he doesn't audit kindergarten classes. Did he ask you to take notes for him? I don't know if you're going to report this in your English class, or nobody's going to see it but your programmer. But you did ask why you're so annoying. Now we find out if you only want to share your "concerns" with others, and don't want to listen.

Well it's hard to make it worse without the ER's help. But you might be able to do it at home. Try this: Turn the thermostat down to 64°. Put a cookie sheet in the freezer. Strip naked and put a button-down shirt on backwards (leave it unbuttoned). Then remove the cookie sheet from the freezer and lie on it.

Hard to say. The stilted language and newspeak-like ask-and-answer gambit (Why is this important? Because...) smacks of AI, but could also indicate a student practicing Engri--er, I mean English. The lack of response could just be because even halfway around the world most people sleep at night.

Ah, but we do know how colds are spread. We know vitamin C and broth made by boiling the bones of poultry give your immune system the tools to fight it. We know colds don't kill, pneumonia does, and that can be prevented by not lying flat when one has chest congestion. We know the WHO has denied all these things, so we know the WHO is a pack of liars.

No, I'm pretty sure it could be limited to a number of specific aspects. Like whether we have children just so the state can take ownership of them like slaves. Or whether the risk of heart inflammation is higher than the ~0.02% risk of death which that chest cold poses to children. Assuming we were inclined to limit conversations at all. Oh. Well. Shall we consult the temporarily dead, then?

So, how many Americans did the media say were left behind with those four C-130 transports because the Taliban shut down the airport? And how long ago was this? And yet, flights just got halted. What's more, the CDC seems to be doing contact tracing in Afghanistan. This may have passed the official fact checkers, but it failed my sniff test.

Naomi Wolf: How I was arrested at Occupy Wall Street

Arresting a middle-aged writer in an evening gown for peaceable conduct is a far cry from when America was a free republic. Read Naomi Wolf's report of her arrest at Occupy Wall Street about the 'closing civil society' where we live.

Report from Naomi Wolf (October 19, 2011):

Last night I was arrested in my home town, outside an event to which I had been invited, for standing
