That's an amazingly silly statement. The Nobel committee is not America, and their peace prize did not one thing to make Obama a man of peace. And if Trump puts together a committee to hive him a prize for instilling greatness, that won't mean one damned thing. Americans can have any state of mind they want, but if they still have to have three lawyers and seven CPAs to do anything, they won't be making anything at all, much less making it great. And no one can make a nation of three hundred million great single-handed, no matter how much of a legend he may be in his own mind.

For what to be embraced? A vague promise which goes against the candidate's entire history? Did we embrace Obama's vague promises of peace? Or did we (accurately) warn his willfully blind supporters that this promise would not be kept? Why would we begin turning a blind eye to a candidate's entire track record at this late date? Do you really think we consider that a bad habit?

What I don't understand about that tripe is the fact that it isn't true. The proof that it isn't true is abundant in this thread. If there were a scrap of evidence that Trump doesn't believe in aiding Israel, or that he does believe in freedom, limited government, and/or the Constitution you might have a point. And we wouldn't hear any more about Trump in the news than we did about Ron Paul... ...much less be unable to turn on a television, radio or computer without hearing and/or reading his name.

Exactly. I did not like the way Cruz reacted, but the way this is a spectacle for laughter and my team antics is a sad reflection of the reality. What ever happened to manners and class? This is no way to behave, I miss Ron Paul.

He could not. He had promised not to. But as I say, he hasn't made that pledge lately. And honestly, the situation is much more favorable today than it was four years ago. For example, neither major party was running a full-on clown four years ago. Nor was either running an outright criminal. Now both are. That makes a difference.

The very fact that he talks in terms of making America great again tells me he will do nothing of the sort. Calvin Coolidge presided over one of the greatest periods of growth and prosperity in America's history. He did not create that, and did not claim that he did. He got government out of the way of the people and let the people do it. Coolidge got it. Trump does not. And so long as Trump does not, he cannot duplicate Coolidge's success.

I agree, except in this regard: Not all economic policy is foreign policy, and not all foreign policy is economic policy. You seemed to me to be blurring the line above, which is why I asked what I did. Garage sales may not be a major feature of economic policy, but are not unaffected by it.

Yes, yes he does. But he leans toward the clown in some ways. And the field is very heavy with clowns this year. For once, being a clown is not the way to stand out. He also lacks relevant experience, and that will weigh heavy with many voters. Johnson is better in that respect, but worse in others. The nation needs a decent Libertarian Party choice this year, and the Libertarian Party needs someone like Ron Paul. I feel they must risk Ron Paul refusing, even if it does seem like a no confidence vote to the candidates they have. There is too much which could be gained if Ron Paul bowed to the pressure and allowed his hat to be thrown in the ring for him. And he might. After all, he did not promise not to run for a third party. He hasn't done that for four years now.

I suppose this is how you view garage sales too? Are they also chipping away at sovereignty at home unless the sales are registered with the central bureau and proper sales tax paid on the transaction...? Just how much can we accomplish on our own initiative and without blessings from on high before we begin trampling on the sovereignty of our nation? Must we fill out forms and send them to Washington to borrow a handkerchief when our nose is runny?

In short, regardless of what Trump has actually said (or not said), people feel more comfortable being racist in an open, proud way than I've seen before. It's also an extension of decades of fighting racism by pointing the finger at other races, which is a bit like bombing to promote peace. It's not an encouraging trend to me. It's not Trump's fault, either. It's the inevitable result of what's been going on over the years coupled with a perceived positive connotation to "telling it like it is" on one side and becoming part of a "movement" on the other end of the spectrum. Then you have others saying the way to fight all of this is to make safe spaces and avoid certain pronouns, and to impose tolerance on the rest of the nation at whatever cost --- in dollars and dignity. God help us all.

Libertarianism and "plumbline" conservatism are mutually exclusive. Conservatism has long been opposed to classical liberalism-the precursor to "plumbline" libertarianism.

"Thread: If you support Donald Trump, then you are an anticonstitutional blithering idiot HEY! Rand and Ron are conservatives, remember?"
Can't speak for Rand, but Ron is a well-known libertarian and lifetime member of the LP, FYI.
  4. Oh--by the way, look for it other places than Amazon, you might find it cheaper if you actually intend to buy either one.

Right there is where you find it! It seriously has saved me a lot of money and will pay itself off within a year. I use the washer, then spin "dry," and hang up to finish the drying. It's working great for where we're at right now, my bathroom has turned into the laundry room--much better than spending $$$ on laundromat nastiness. We also have a balcony where I can dry/grow herbs and some tomatoes. I'm making the best of what I've got.

If you are a young mother, you need to know, right now, that the advice that DonnaY gives is just horrible. She did not graduate from high school, and considers herself a researcher because she watches YouTube videos and reads conspiracy things. She posts these things because she apparently has a deep seated need to feel smarter than the rest of the world...painting herself as some wise sage in a world gone mad. In fact, she is delisional and dangerous.

Deep in my heart, I know

that hosting a picture in a thread isn't this hard for everybody. But linking straight to it was a disaster in that it was HUGE - filled up the whole page on the laptop. I downloaded it and then tried to insert it from my desktop, but no luck.

So here it is: a picture of a humidifier (maybe) with absolutely no relevant text to go with it. If it's relevant text you want, go here.

Beware the seller giving advice
