I am on the same page as AF and Intox.... Eventually human labor will be replaced 100% in some distant future... but in the next 10-20 years let us posit that 40-50% of labor is replaced. You can all speculate on how "the economy will adapt" and "you would have us back in horse and buggy days!" all you want, but the fact is that NO ECONOMY has ever had to cope with both the sheer volume of displacement of such a broad spectrum of labor AND the speed with which it will happen. Imagine 50% of the current labor force put out of a job! Sure I would imagine there would be an incredible amount of new work available to those that would retrain, but not even close to replacing 50% of current workers... this is why even conservative/libertarian economists are discussing things like UBI as a possible outcome (something I think would be HORRIBLE in the long term). But to simply be dismissive of our new reality and say "Meh... sure it will be fine, after all it worked out in the past!" is to indeed 'whistle past the graveyard.'

Methinks you've been reading too much #QAnon.... show me a source that Obama has retained counsel, then we can talk.

Nothing will happen. No one will be charged. No one will be held accountable. Do you really think the STATE is going to let anything happen to Clinton, Obama, etc?? If you do, you have a lot more (misplaced) faith in the Government than I do.

Depends on which lies you'd like to believe... if you buy some of what people are selling, the 'white hat patriots' have already indicted dozens of people and even arrested Obama! I tend to stay more rational and believe that no one will ever be held accountable. No one will be charged. This will all quietly dwindle away without any justice. If you're not as cynical as me, you haven't been paying attention.

Read the whole thread and no one discussed the OP... I will begin. I think the author is a bit optimistic. I think people in this country are stupid, on both sides. Yes, Trump won. Yes, people are beginning to see through the MSM bias and bogus partisanship. People are no less stupid, though. You still have 64 million Hillary voters that would burn their own cities down and send every one of us to the gulag or worse if they could chalk up a 'win' in 2018.

Morning my second family. Linda is having a damn rough time recovering from this second round of Chemo. She has too much fluid in her, it is compressing her lungs making it difficult to breathe, so they are doing a thoracentesis today, basically pushing a needle through the chest wall and draining the fluid out. Doc says should bring instant relief. The good news is that we just found out that her older sister is a perfect stem cell donor match hitting all 10 out of 10 genetic markers. This means we will not have to go through the less favorable option of using a donor network. We needed some good news so we are very happy. I am back to work part-time so as to keep my health benefits and putting food on the table, but I will be taking a leave of absence after the stem cell transplant because it is critical that Linda receive 24/7 care.

It's a paradox, to be sure. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Nietzsche was correct in that the problem lies with humanity itself. Perhaps we were a mistake... or perhaps we were never meant to propagate the species beyond a few hundred thousands from the African Savannahs. But here we are, 9 Billion and counting... each and every one of us with the same basic programming. One thing is clear: humans were not meant to rule over other humans. THAT is (should) be our fight... recognizing the cyclical nature of things (the universe itself) means it is a battle that will never end. There is no "what do we do after?" Endeavour for human freedom, period. What comes after is beyond our control and thus beyond any 'planning'.

Hey everyone. First time I've had to logon in a while. Here's a quick update. She just finished round 2 chemo which was 5 days in the hospital. It was like being hit by a train. They pumped her full of so many fluids it was scary. She gained 20 pounds in 2 days just in fluids... they had to put her on Lasix to help get rid of fluid. She's on so many meds we can't count and they all have horrible effects on her. Nausea, headaches, dizziness, sleepiness.... then the docs say "You have to eat!" "You have to get up and walk!" It's so damn hard. But she's a trooper and is doing what needs to be done. I will update more when I can.

Mises pointed out that we are social animals, the great insight is that life would be horrible if we achieved self sufficient isolation, but co-operation in a market is achievable and doesn't in any way necessitate a State. This is a truly revolutionary idea, and I think its time has come.

I like the idea of coming up with products and services, connections and various preparatory solutions for when things go pear shaped. I think tyranny will fall apart naturally, so for a variety of reasons our efforts are best spent trying to figure out how to provide products and services in anticipation of govt. services failing, (even if at times we act as partners with local govt. organizations) Doing this we will be well positioned to step in with free market solutions for those who might otherwise choose expedient tyranny at a future time when things look bleakest. I liked the stuff I read on your profile discussion. There are positive things that can be done now, and the market is really, really powerful. When the lid flies off, we will all be happy that we made some good contacts and shared some ideas.

He was a obnoxious! He reminds me of that overly pompous Victor Aguilar over at a few years back. He was offering thousand dollar prizes for people who could refute his refutation of Mises action axiom or something. I am very excited by this new awakening that is happening; we are not alone and that is huge. Hearing Ron Paul say (to paraphrase) that once someone wakes up to understanding liberty they are not easily lulled back to sleep is really revolutionary. And what I love the best is that the people in general and Ron Paul in particular are always so positive, because freedom is positive, and the future is good because the market is fighting on our side. (such a far cry from the morose misery of the political striving for legislative solutions and 'if only we could get our guy in' mentality of the old school conservative/anti-liberal/American-exceptionalist ancestors of mine.)

Alcada I am sad! I just read that mesquite flour is not recommended for people with diabetes because of the high sugar content. I so wanted to taste it. I thought this information can help you when you are producing it for sale. I love your posts
