Trump can't even admit that he was wrong to have Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx as part of his COVID response team, not to mention that he was seriously in error for rushing vaccines through his treacherous "Operation Warp Speed."

The problem is people like Howard Dean are playing to the ignorance of their voting base because abortions haven't been banned in the states where Democrats are in control. In fact, in my current state, we're receiving the abortion clinics which have been expelled from nearby conservative states, so abortions will be more available in my state within the coming year, which is an absolute atrocity. The fact that so many rank-and-file Democrats are ignorant of the actual effects of the Roe v. Wade overturn and are willing to be manipulated into thinking it's a "women's rights" issue is despicable.

Maybe maybe maybe BEYOND MEAT did not include in its burgers the "secret ingredient" the SOYLENT GREEN COMPANY had in its burgers and sliders that made them so popular and well liked! Yep... i am a Trekkie and i like good Sci-Fi flicks!

https://www.nytimes.com/1973/04/20/archives/screen-soylent-green.html THIS WAS SCIENCE FICTION New Yorkers certainly have problems these days—graffiti, income tax, the Yankees — but nothing like the horrors due in 2022 as depicted in "Soylent Green," which arrived at local theaters yesterday. To begin with, the Gotham of 2022 teems with 40-million citizens; overpopulation and its concomitant horrors aside, the erosion of the environment is such that there's little to eat other than "Soylent Green" which, we're told, is synthesized from plankton. Unfortunately, the script, direction and the principals involved in this struggle for survival often are as synthetic as "Soylent Green."There is, of course, every reason to view the next century with some fear. But "Soylent Green" projects essentially simple, muscular melodrama a good deal more effectively than it does the potential of man's seemingly witless destruction of the earth's resources.Charlton Heston, as a harried detective investigating the murder of Joseph Cotten, a bigwig in the dictatorial Soylent Company (whom we see only fleetingly), is aided by the late Edward G. Robinson in his last role as an aged, wise, suspicious researcher, who remembers the good old days of steaks and the like. And, finally exposed by a bewildering succession of hungry citizens, overcrowded streets, fancy pads and the resident, luscious lasses (called "furniture" here) of the rich few, is the awful truth about the secret ingredient of "Soylent Green."We won't reveal that ingredient but it must be noted that Richard Fleischer's direction stresses action, not nuances of meaning or characterization. Mr. Robinson is pitiably natural as the realistic, sensitive oldster facing the futility of living in dying surroundings. But Mr. Heston is simply a rough cop chasing standard bad guys.Their 21st-century New York occasionally is frightening but it is rarely convincingly real.

When BERNIE and HILLARY went at it in the primaries, they had only a handful of issues where they had basic differences.

If KAMELA is "IN IT TO WIN IT" i expect BERNIE to run. he will not be able to contain himself. he only half forgave Biden for winning the 2o20 "nom" and then getting into the presidency.

For all practical purposes, FDR's son-in-law.... MISTER CURTIS DALL praised HERBERT HOOVER, liked IKE and often was as conservative as BARRY GOLDWATER. FDR himself usually quietly had political opinions that were slightly to the RIGHT of NORMAN THOMAS. https://newpol.org/is-the-new-deal-socialism-by-norman-thomas/ BERNIE is bolder than FDR, and FDR himself was part of the Wilson administration. He was on a ticket in 1920.

When they both had that nice lil ole debate that time.... THAHHH DONALD almost gave THE JOE his version of the virus. Doctor Rand is half correct.... the darn pesky virus has a habit of mutating. THE JOE most likely has recovered, and won't be hit hard by it again until AFTER the intense 2o24 election. There have been a few people who have been hit by it twice.

QUOTE "About the Archive This is a digitized version of an article from The Times’s print archive, before the start of online publication in 1996. To preserve these articles as they originally appeared, The Times does not alter, edit or update them. Occasionally the digitization process introduces transcription errors or other problems; we are continuing to work to improve these archived versions. Only people old enough to suffer from memory lapses are apt to remember James Michael Curley, who, between World War I and World War II, was elected Mayor of Boston four times, Congressman four times and Governor of Massachusetts once, and who spent a brief spell in jail during his last term in City Hall, for a mail fraud incident. "Scandalous Mayor," tonight's somewhat sentimental offering from "The American Experience," at 9 on Channels 13 and 49, catches a style of politicking that has gone the way of vaudeville. Curley, whose parents came to America around the turn of the century on what he called the Irish Mayflower, was a champion of the immigrants in a city controlled by descendants of people who had come over on the real Mayflower, more or less. Movie shorts of the period picture the Irish as happy-go-lucky clowns, not so different from the stereotype of blacks. Curley rode into office on class tensions, labeling as goo-goos the good-government opponents who kept investigating him. He never went beyond fourth grade, and for all his reading of Shakespeare and lessons in diction and etiquette, he could not shake off the title of lowbrow mayor of a highbrow city. But he had the gift of words that went down well in Boston's wards.

i see it this way.... BIDEN may choose to retire after one term. He was born in 1942, in 2024 he will be 82 years of age. Easily one third of the voters who vote often and for a Democrat wanted BERNIE to be where Joe is right now. Thing is, i expect an active string of primaries concerning both of the very large political parties who dominate the political landscape. PENCE even has POTOMAC fever and now perhaps hypothetically thinks THAHHH DONALD is the Anti-Christ from a very ancient prophesy...he worries about his flock being corrupted by the man. This all makes 2024 complicated. KAMELA VERSES BERNIE on one side, MIKE VERSES THAHHH DONALD on the other....as JOE BIDEN HAS ME THINKING OF JAMES MICHAEL CURLEY AND GOVERNOR AL SMITH FROM NEW YORK STATE.

LIZ CHENEY ought to be listened to, also. KEEP IN MIND SHE MIGHT DO A POTUS RUN OR TWO OR THREE. Same can be said about RAND PAUL. Agreeing totally with LIZ CHENEY or any other politician of the hour begs a question. KLUDGE once referred to Rand's neat little senatorial forum area as the "kiddie" forum that has had some quite appropriate parental controls placed on it.

Today.... Kamela Harris has something in common with Mike Pence, and of course Richard Milhous Nixon way way way back in 1957 when IKE needed surgery. There is a fine line between an acting president, and a duly sworn in president who has to step in for a very very very sick C-I-C ....and yes, this must be said, from time to time i am aware of White House press releases. BIDEN was just hit hard by a new variant of the virus, but has recovered. BERNIE would run again if BIDEN is a one term president in a manner most similar to Jimmy Carter, and yes... BIDEN KNOWS WHO HIS VEEP IS.

Could you help me understand this post? I think 'the quip' refers to Kluge but can't figure out the rest. What do parental controls mean? And who called Rand's forum that?

I expect C4L to be our future as well, which doesn't mean we won't be in the GOP, just means we won't 'take directions' from the GOP.

I won't vote for Gary. Not thinking ahead to November, really, just August.
