Let's try a thought experiment, O studied and rational one. Suppose you had a son. Suppose you could make him a member of a club, and you wanted to make him a member of the club because you love him. But suppose you also know he would make the other members of the club miserable because he's a little a$$hole. Would you make him a member of the club because you want to? Or would you refuse to make him a member of the club for the benefit of the club members? Feel free to refuse to answer. When you refuse to answer a reasonable and thoughtful question which is entirely pertinent to the discussion at hand, it says much more about how indefensible your position is than it says about me.

You can't get your head outside the box, so you're trying to shove Pete's thread back inside the box? You tell me, Sola Fide, if you aren't so afraid of me that you have me on ignore. Can God desire something, yet choose not to bring it to pass? Now we find out who Sola Fide is, by observing how he creates God in his own image. Well, Sola Fide? Can God be capable of doing a thing, but choose not to do it? Can He have a power, yet show enough restraint to not exercise it? Or has He got the self-control of a ferret?

Creating God in one's own image is a natural act. But it sure doesn't give God much credit, does it? Especially when Sola Fide does it. If God is all knowing, how can Sola Fide say what He wills? Which is yet another simple question that will never get answered. If it happens to be God's will that those of us who choose Him are saved, and those of us who do not choose Him are not saved, then when is His will frustrated?

He has obviously made up his mind that it's God's will that he be far too stubborn to get a clear view of what God's will really is. Which is fine. More power to him. The odd part is that he spends so many hours on line advertising that fact to a group of people, even though half of them are merely saddened by the fact, and the rest don't even care.

Did I once read that you had children? Excuse me while I go pray for the poor unfortunates... Can a video game designer design a video game with enough variables that the very person who designed the game can start it in motion and play it without knowing exactly how it will come out? I'm not saying God doesn't know how we'll turn out, mind you. What you refuse to allow into your skull at all costs is that you argue this crap incessantly, year in and year out, and insult as many people as you can in the process, is probably all meaningless to God. God creates people capable of choosing Him and people who are not--pots not destined for destruction and pots that are--and in your incomparable single-minded narrowness, you blather that the sole determining factor is whether we give God every last ounce of the credit when we choose Him. Well, dude, the Bible does not make the same emphasis. In fact, the Bible puts the emphasis on honoring God not by giving Him the credit when we do something, but on honoring Him by aiding, comforting and loving one another. But, you know, you've been up De Nile for years and you have always refused us when we offered you a paddle. So, whatever. You can relish the thought that some souls are irrevocably lost, and try to figure out who they are, until your own dying day, and have fun doing it. For those who have truly embraced God, however, that is much to sad a thing to dwell on...

The idea that people making choices is against the will of God because Sola Fide says God cannot want that is a much bigger contradiction. Sola Fide is small and megalomaniacal. God is not.

Interstate highways and freeways are not interchangeable concepts. A freeway can be, and many of them are, completely intrastate, and an interstate can be, and many of them are, turnpikes. And the post office managed to get the mail circulated for about a hundred and eighty years before the Military Industrial Complex shoved through the unnecessary federal power grab which was the Interstate Highway System. State highways were connected into a federal network for decades before Washington figured out a way to talk the public into accepting a federal motor fuels tax. Fact of the matter is, some odd 90% of the mileage the U.S. mail spends on roads is spent on city streets, and back before the U.S.P.S. abandoned the railroads for airplanes, that number was even higher. Post roads are seriously ancient history, and they certainly don't explain the Interstate Highway Boondoggle in any way.

So, if there's a class system where only one race lives, it's clearly not a sign of racism. But if an identical class system exists where more than one race lives, it's automatically race based? Would Sen. John Conyers' harassment victims agree with that? Would those members of the American public who realize they got screwed while the Obama family thrived at their expense agree with that? If there's more than one race where a class system exists, how can you tell if it's race based? There are privileged "people of color" in the U.S., and poor whites. Does that disprove the theory? Is there a quota which determines it? Or is this woman saying there can only be a class system where there is only one race? Otherwise, the class system is automatically not a class system, it's automatically racism?

Or better still, they could repeal the federal motor fuel tax altogether. Washington takes that money, skims some off the top to feed the bureaucrats who administer it, skim some more off the top for various federal boondoggles that have nothing to do with infrastructure, and dole what little is left back to states according to whether they jump through federal hoops and according to how much pull their senators and representatives have in Congress. Repeal it and states can raise their own motor fuels taxes by up to eighteen and a half cents a gallon for gas and nearly a quarter a gallon for diesel with no pain on the people or the economy at all (except for the economy of the Washington bureaucracies, perhaps). And the states can then apply that money directly to infrastructure, and the citizens of that state can do something about it if that money isn't spent well--they can fire their whole legislatures if necessary to fix the problem. Can the citizens of one state fire the entire federal legislature if they don't get anything for the federal fuels taxes they pay? The federal fuels tax is the problem, not the solution. Repeal it and roads will improve within months. And if they don't in your state, you and your fellow sufferers can actually do something about it.

So Paul just held the pencil while the Holy Spirit wrote his epistles, according to you, and God Himself micromanaged every Bible translation word for word (except, of course, for the Living Bible). Yet somehow the infallible God managed to let Enoch slip by? Was that the same day He came to earth in human form, and said a bunch of things in unfathomable code because He may be able to write stuff mere humans can understand (using Paul's hand) but He can't say stuff mere humans can understand using Jesus' mouth? You must really enjoy being obnoxious and starting arguments, or you'd actually do your fellow man a service for a change, and abridge the Bible. Sola Fide's Digest Condensed Bible. Enoch gets thrown out with the eunuchs and the red letter quotes all have asterisks with a footnote that says, 'You're too stupid to understand what this means.' It shouldn't take you half as long as a dozen of these arguments you love to start. With the Holy Spirit doing the typing, your fingers will fly as they've never flown before. But, of course, we have no evidence at all you're the least bit motivated to help your fellow man. You seem to be solely motivated to start heated arguments. So, if I find a scripture where Paul quotes a pagan philosopher, does that make that verse of that epistle something other than scripture? Does that mean I can assume this sentence attributed to Paul was not ghost written by the Holy Ghost? And if so, why would I take your word for it that every other random, politically correct, possibly censored by the Roman government thought that Paul put to parchment was dictated by the Holy Spirit and transcribed without error?

Possibly, and you could be right. All I know is that, in my case, regulatory burdens that cost millions in compliance costs are to be shelved, meaning we can be more competitive with other sources which in turn results in lower prices for everybody.

There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.
