The Bolshevik left says the government did nothing wrong: The Waco Raid at 25: Enough With the Fairy Tale Lies It’s the anniversary of the Branch Davidian compound raid, that tragic story of fatal overreach by jackbooted government thugs. The story is total fiction. MARK POTOK 04.19.18 5:22 AM ET

Now that they have explained their side I can say I have had the exact same thing happen to me, while guilty of being a greasy biker. I am white. This is much less about racism, and much more about the knee jerk reaction indoctrinated into people to "call the cops" at the slightest of issues or problems. Men arrested at Starbucks say they feared for their lives

On Patriot's Day, in an ironic twist. Don't you feel proud? Look at all this civilization you bought. What is not included in this calculation is increased costs (secondary taxation) and compliance costs. Which I reckon are another trillion or so.

Yeah, not gonna go there either, already been down a different road with Mrs AF on that, not about to touch it with a ten foot pole. I have an issue with the state putting you out of business for crimethink, that's all I'm pointing out.

I've been watching this exchange Pete, and I was understanding your point up to here. "I would be in favor of pulling the business license of any business that sells guns and ammo" says the Bolshevik leftist. Or any other daily outrage...the possibilities are endless...and the ability to control thoughts and actions endless as well, when you threaten with state force, the right to earn a living for having impolitic thoughts. There shouldn't be such a thing as a "license" to do business in a free society.

As to the article in the OP...what a load of horseshit. You're going to run into the dirt some of the greatest classic rock songs ever recorded, because of honest, truthful lyrics, because today it would upset the "woke". But this rap of today gets a pass? It's got everything: racism, misogyny, antisemitism, homophobia and "ni gger ni gger ni gger" liberally interspersed throughout...but millions and millions love it and not a peep out of the Internet Outrage Squads, The Woke, The Perpetually Aggrieved and all the others ready to pounce and make life miserable for anybody caught wrongthinking.

Humbug. That's a bunch of Subway nonsense. I was born and raised on the Jersey shore, and no self respecting Jersey sub would ever be on a split sub roll. Halved upper and lower bun, baked by Baldanza bakery in Red Bank, wrapped tightly in deli paper, oozing oil and vinegar. The reason: so that fresh sliced meats and cheese, right off the slicer, could be built on the lower half.

I can't speak for everybody, of course, but my answer is, yes, without a doubt. I know, we all know, what happens if you truly oppose the force of the state, willingly, with purpose, manfully. Like mafioso, theye will kill you, your family, your friends, anybody associated with you and burn your body down inside your bullet riddled home. Then theye will use the government media organs to slander and utterly destroy your name and reputation posthumously, so you become worse than an unperson and anybody they may have missed killing will be destroyed by association. I will admit it, I am afraid of that, terrified in fact, because I know exactly what these fuckers are capable of and willing to do.

Turn about is fair play and all... From February 2016 Trump: Someone Should Primary Rand Paul Either run for Senate and do a good job or run for president. You don’t run for president and by the way, if I don’t make it, I will become your senator reluctantly. If I were somebody — a good, strong Republican from Kentucky, I would run against him in a heartbeat. And you would win. Because the people of Kentucky are being used by Rand Paul. Now, think of it. They’re saying is, oh, if he doesn’t make it, we will take him. That’s not the way it works. The people of Kentucky should get a senator that wants to represent them, not a senator where it’s a backup plan. So, if I was in Kentucky, I would run against him. Believe me, I would win. - DJT

Mather Byles was a Loyalist clergyman in Boston during the Revolution. He asked this question: "Which is better - to be ruled by one tyrant three thousand miles away or by three thousand tyrants one mile away?" It's a valid question, I think.

I'm torn on this. While on the one hand, the idea of smaller, local government seems best. On the other hand, there is a valid point to be made that local government can be even more tyrannical than a distant central government, the former being right up in your business every day. Never really gave it much thought on a "macro" level like the way you are approaching it. Let me scratch my noggin on this a little bit...

LawnWake has a point. The problem is, libertarians are painted as being unfeeling wonks because we get to the heart of matters which are costing the poor. The liberals say 'I feel your pain' and 'Have some free stuff,' and those who have difficulty thinking bite. We tell them how they've gotten to the point where a day's pay doesn't make ends meet and how regulation has caused the prices of this and that to skyrocket, and they just get confused and/or bored. And when we say we're working all this out because we care about people, our comments get deleted from 99% of the world's websites. It takes some broadcast wattage to get our own propaganda out there. We were just getting good at it when Google demonetized us and shoved us down to page 17,452 on the search engine. The internet was nice while it was free, but they couldn't tolerate that. And now we're back to shouting from rooftops.

Now, see, there's where you and 99% of this forum differ. You think it's a lark having your grandparents spend you into insurmountable debt before you're born and leaving you to spend your life paying it back. Whereas many of us were in on that spending spree back in the day, we see what it's doing to the economy, we know there will be a day of reckoning, and even though we may not be around to see it, we actually love our children enough that we hate the fact. We opposed this lunacy back when it was actually benefitting us, and we hate it now. You say, gee, we can keep rolling this stuff over forever and ever. But first interest accumulates, and then interest gets charged on interest, and then it mushrooms. And we don't have faith in a bunch of short-sighted politicians who can't see past their next election to manage it. You say anyone can get all the raises they need to keep up with dollar devaluation, or at least you can and you could give damn-all for anyone else. There's another place you and most of us disagree. If you want to hang around, you're just going to have to learn to agree to disagree with the overwhelming majority of us on these things. Perhaps you heard someone say libertarians don't give a fig about their fellow man, so you thought you'd find lots of like-minded souls here. Sorry to disappoint you, but much of what we do we do because we can actually see how the poor got poorer, and we don't like it. He's the one treating this topic as a legal and moral issue with real-world consequences for real people. You're treating it as some kind of interesting mental exercise. Tell us again who is, and who isn't, being serious.

An airplane with half its engines is an underpowered airplane. An airplane with none of its engines (as opposed to a glider, which is not the same thing) is a brick. That's, like, physics. Bringing down a brick without killing anyone is a slightly more remarkable achievement. Pilots bring down aircraft with one engine out often. None of them have gotten the attention Sullenberger got--regardless of race, creed, color or gender.

It's amazing that CSPAN isn't getting scrubbed clean the way YouTube is. I like the "false profits" phrase. How is it possible that people put up with being charged capital 'gains' taxes on investments which do not gain, but merely hold their actual value? Bottom line.

"Could you please try to understand the opinions you're stooping to name-calling over?" - Nope. An opinion is based on fact. He has no facts. He's just spewing liberal bullshit to stir crap up.

LIke it or not, SCOTUS never said corporations were people. SCOTUS never said corporations have the same rights that people do. If people are too stupid and / or lazy to actually read what the court said they deserve to be ridiculed and mocked.

He can have an opinion about whether people in groups lose their rights just because they join a group. But refusing to acknowledge that at no point did the court say the group had rights means he isn't basing his opinion on reality. Therefore he isn't worthy if anything other than ridicule, and is also e too stupid to properly represent the liberty movement.

Fuck him and his liberal thinking.

Hey - regarding your post on tech, I agree in full. Idunno if you know, but I intend to get out of society completely with my wife and going to live on unclaimed or, ideally, gov't-"owned" land and essentially starting our own country with our family.

I dislike how tech. has been used by society, but I blame society, not tech. and wish society could work with tech, but I don't think it can. This is why I'm leaving society. That solar forge sounds incredibly cool. I plan on loading up with books (e-books, mostly) and going with my wife to live in a cave essentially and we've been going over all sorts of plans to utilize the technology we can afford now to make our lives easier, but I think a lot of the technology used now has made Americans in general fat, boring, and stupid as all fuck.

I wish technology would be utilized to give us more time to think and allow us to expand our minds. I hope I can help facilitate that and intend to write extensively on our experiment. We have a kid (and more on the way, ideally) on the way, so there will hopefully be a lot to write about. My wife's more the scientist and I'm just a writer and philosopher. I'm so excited to share my experiences and we're just waiting on the birth of our first child.

-- I'm going way off-topic. Anyway, I just wanted to say I really appreciate your post and hope you'll post more in the future. I had no idea you were so creative and independent. I hope to see more of that, and more of you. I hope you'll share more of your own experiences because I believe in leading through example and I think you're a great speaker for the cause of individualism.

To your question, I am not at all involved with society atm. I am unemployed except through my political volunteer positions in helping maintain websites. I worked, but I can't anymore knowing what it does -- and I also have a lot of social anxieties which discourage me from working at a "normal" job. Otherwise, we're working on fixing our house up to sell it and eventually want to get out of society completely so we don't have to fund this disgusting government causing the unnecessary deaths of civilians and military personnel.

I hope to have more to share with you soon and just wanted to you to know how refreshing I found your post today.

Idunno where you live, but I'd be interested in you and us having a beer together sometime to facilitate an open discussion.

    All the best,
