Yeah, incredible stuff. So incredible, it makes me think: Should RPF use a format the emphasizes "Defenders of Liberty" in general, when we are not in an election year? You could drill down into Rand Paul or Rep Massie, but you'd see all the posts - or the top 20 posts on the first screen? I just know I haven't been around much since Sen. Paul dropped out - everyone here needs to be seeing Reps Amash and Massie especially.

Maybe Sen. Paul needs to talk/convince Dr. Ben Carson? Would be great for Trump to learn this principle and announce it at a Detroit event.

If you're an agnostic, I think this classic debate on the existence of God will help you come to the realization that God does truly exist, and He has answers which Atheism simply cannot provide, given its worldview on metaphysics, ethics, and epistemology:

The fundamental parameter for a successful libertarian society is the central faith of its people. We have to ask, "Do the people believe in the supremacy and sovereignty of God over all institutions, or the supremacy and sovereignty of man over all institutions?" Once you answer that question, it will determine what the bedrock of your society will be built upon.

You're still missing Dr. Lisle's central point. He is dealing with the philosophy of numbers and how they are evidences of God's design in creation. His use of the Mandlebrot set is just one method of showing how numbers reflect the mind of God, without which, it's impossible for the theory of evolution to explain the existence of numbers.

Looking back on the title of my thread, I think I should have entitled it, "Fractals: Mathematical Evidences That God Exists." I agree that we shouldn't argue from mathematics to God to prove His existence. We start with His revelation, and then we reason from there because of the impossibility (of mathematics) of the contrary. Having said that, I believe that's what Dr. Lisle was assuming throughout his talk. The reason why fractals make sense is because God is Who He is.

Dr. Lisle wasn't using the natural sciences to prove that God exists; he was showing how numbers reveal the mind of God because they show a particular signature (in the case of fractals) which cannot be justified by random processes through natural selection as instantiated by Darwinian evolution. There was no special pleading involved, and just claiming there is doesn't prove it to be true.
