Immigration is a divisive issue because it is an extremely complex multi-dimensional thing, but tribalism requires facile and superficial slogans. So tribes form around pithy but almost meaningless jargon meanwhile anyone who doesn’t adopt the jargon becomes “out-group.” The system perpetuates itself by both “sides” ostracizing anyone actually attempting to produce real solutions. Anyone not in lockstep with the secure borders tribe is an open border lunatic. Anyone not in lockstep with the free travel tribe is an East German Stasi. There will never be an actual conversation anywhere until we stop doing that stupidness. To the actual policy of immigration. I do believe the Constitution authorizes Congress to regulate immigration and by extension the borders. Legal immigration needs to be completely reformed from the ground up. There is no reason for the process to be as arcane and lengthy and pointlessly difficult as it is today. You have to fix legal immigration first before the fixes for illegal immigration make sense to the wider electorate.

That’s true. In my experience in and out of public and party office the most passionate and tireless opponents of illegal immigration are legal immigrants.

In a way. I guess all bottom up stuff looks similar from many perspectives. I think this will heavily divide red states and blue states. I think red states will continue to expand RKBA and blue states will continue to restrict it. After that, the vast majority of mass shootings will be in blue states, and the ones that do happen in red states much more limited in casualties. I suspect that we will sit like that for maybe a decade, with all this violence in the blue states and way less violence in the red states, before blue states start experimenting with expanding RKBA.

Again, I don’t believe you. If you gave handguns to every soul in Chicago, a crap ton of criminals would die in the first month, and then homicide would drop 40% by year end. The actual quantity of mass shooters is only a drop in the bucket compared to total homicides. If 25% of everyone is armed, even when a mass shooter pops off he only kills one or two instead of ten or twenty. Your premise presumes that nothing can be done to effect mass shootings without supporting your premise. I have repeatedly disagreed with the premise, and all you are doing is restating it. Mass shootings probably will increase, because we as a nation are unwilling to do what is necessary to stop them. They will increase until we are finally willing to do what needs done. The more gun control they enact, the worse the shootings will get. You’ll almost be able to set your watch by it.

It’s already happening. The correct way. Municipalities, Counties, and States are already arming teachers, modifying or eliminating “gun free zones” expanding into Constitutional Carry. It’s coming from the bottom up so maybe it’s harder to see. But bottom up is how real change happens. Over time it will become clearer and clearer that these mass shooting events happen less and less against hardened targets, which will influence policy makers to emulate success, adding more data and inspiring more change. Yes we have a three steps forward two steps back thing going on with red flags, but the RKBA expansionist faction will ultimately prevail because it’s bottom up. So to your question how do we eliminate gun control in reality. That soup is already cooking and mostly only needs time and our continued RKBA guidance.

Had he not shot the attacker, he would have been charged with brandishing a firearm. Of course that would have been a lesser charge with less prison time.

Or you could try to do some or all of those things without being an asshole about it. In which case, your mileage may well vary. It's a disturbing look under the mask when you see a MIP slip. We all are. The average height in Japan is under 5' 5". It's not that big a challenge.

I do not believe that mass shootings will increase when gun control is eliminated. I believe they will plummet by like 50% almost immediately. And take that to 90% if we convince the AMA to make SSRI standard of care in-patient. So I disagree with your fundamental premise here.

When I opposed the NC Marriage Amendment in 2011, proposing instead that we prohibit the state licensure of marriage altogether, I had a guy tell me “You and all you f-g loving commies oughtta be lined up against a wall and shot!” It was an interesting experience, and probably one of the pivotal moments in shaping my perception as to how incredibly stupid people become when they are trapped in Marxist Identity Politics.

It's what both parties are about, and always have been. It is the definition of how the two party system serves the "Deep State". They have "perfect is the enemy of the good"-ed us into slavery. The Gridiron Thinkers scream about which is the greater evil and which is the lesser evil all through the general election and beyond. The problem is, that same thinking pervades during the primary season. Instead of studying up and making damned sure their primary vote goes to the best candidate, they get caught up in the horse race. They're more interested in making sure they vote for the eventual nominee than in making sure they vote for the best. That's how they get played by the pollsters. It's like those football teams who spend all their salary cap on the prettiest quarterback, and wind up with no receivers, no safeties, and no decent linemen. Then they wonder why the season didn't go better. At the end of the day, people who don't hold their team accountable seven during the season--don't get a better team.

Coolidge of course was before I was born. Coolidge is easily in my top four of all time. Probably an 8 maybe a 9 on my 1-10 scale. Cleveland somewhere around an 8, Jefferson somewhere around a 7.5. Maybe Madison rounding out the top 4 with a 6.5 to 7. I figured on Ron Paul if elected being a 9-9.5.

More mindless emotionally charged propaganda. “IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ME YOU WANT THE LEFT TO WIN” What you are doing is trying to bully people into becoming unthinking carbon copies of you. This is collectivism, tribalism, and identity politics being promoted by rank propagandistic rhetoric. “Become a clone of me or you are a libtard” is PRECISELY the level of idiot-think that drove us away from establishment politics and into the Ron Paul camp in the first place.

Thing is, we have ALL the solutions, really. The problem is statolaters, or people who idolize the state, do not want to hear them...or having heard them pretend they didn’t...because our solutions almost universally lean towards less government power and more individual power. This....whole....concept is just anathema to a statolater. Just look at them. Look at how ANGRY they are because we won’t worship the idol with them. And then they sit there, just heaping more and more power onto their idol government while trying to claim the mantle of Ron Paul, whose life work was to remove unconstitutional power from government and return it to the people where it belongs. Here’s something these knee-jerk reactionaries cannot possibly comprehend. I am not “anti-Trump.” I came in here critical of something Trump said, and because I was being critical of their demigod I was “camped” into the “out-group” and subjected to all the identity politics of the Trotskyite communist right.

You should probably get a refresher in English composition. In any case the answer is the same. End gun control and when the violence goes away enough people will grok it to continue with that solution. If you seriously believe as you claim, that a majority of Americans support gun control, then you either need to stop mainlining leftist propaganda or move away from whatever progressive hellhole you find yourself in today.

You asked how to stop the mass shootings, not how to make the electorate actually want the solution. You don’t get to ask for one thing and then whine because I didn’t answer a question you didn’t ask. Again, this demonstrates a deceitful rhetorical approach to this discussion that places you squarely in the “wicked evil” column. If deceit is all you got, then you got nothing I will ever want. If pro-Trump derangement is characterized by deceitfulness, then people with integrity will be repulsed. All you are doing here is demonstrating over and over and over why rational people want nothing to do with your fetid corruption.

Eliminate gun control altogether. Ban gun free zones. Lobby (not force by law) the AMA to make changes to the Standard of Care so that SSRI treatments are in-patient rather than out-patient. That prevents about 90% of them. We will have to wait and see what commonalities the remainder has. But this subject ALONE demonstrates your irrational state of mind. “Mass shootings” account for something like less than 1% of murders. You are slavering like a puppy dog at the shiny half a percent while ignoring the 99.5% that has less emotional impact. Why don’t you care about 99.5% of all murder victims? Do you see how shytty the false dichotomy sophistry is?

No, the Ron Paul strategy is to demand that one political party or the other refrain from grabbing guns. But we can't have a political party that refrains from grabbing guns, because people like you get all moist and wobbly-kneed when you see loudmouthed celebrities with orange hair. It's hard to hold someone's feet to the fire with all you people squirting on the flame and putting it out--no matter what your orange dreamboat does to you. Fortunately, I don't have to read your prog playbook plays and your semiliterate screeds too.

Again, there is no information, data, logic, argument, or even any semblance of a rational point here. This is just emotional bullshit intended to humiliate and ostracize anyone who is not in the “in-group.” This bullshit right here is one of the main reasons we abandoned politics as usual and supported Ron Paul to begin with. Your entire existence here is an absolute insult to Ron Paul and everything he stands for.
