Contrary to popular belief, the Gestapo was not the all-pervasive, omnipotent agency in German society. In Germany proper, many towns and cities had fewer than 50 official Gestapo personnel. For example, in 1939 Stettin and Frankfurt am Main only had a total of 41 Gestapo men combined. In Düsseldorf, the local Gestapo office of only 281 men were responsible for the entire Lower Rhine region, which comprised 4 million people. "V-men", as undercover Gestapo agents were known, were used to infiltrate Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and Communist opposition groups, but this was more the exception, not the rule. The Gestapo office in Saarbrücken had 50 full-term informers in 1939. The District Office in Nuremberg, which had the responsibility for all of northern Bavaria, employed a total of 80–100 full-term informers between 1943 and 1945. The majority of Gestapo informers were not full-term informers working undercover, but were rather ordinary citizens who chose to denounce other people to the Gestapo. According to Canadian historian Robert Gellately's analysis of the local offices established, the Gestapo was—for the most part—made up of bureaucrats and clerical workers who depended upon denunciations by citizens for their information. Gellately argued that it was because of the widespread willingness of Germans to inform on each other to the Gestapo that Germany between 1933 and 1945 was a prime example of panopticism. The Gestapo—at times—was overwhelmed with denunciations and most of its time was spent sorting out the credible from the less credible denunciations. Many of the local offices were understaffed and overworked, struggling with the paper load caused by so many denunciations.

Does it matter? I've grown very fond of a quote from Gen. Chesty Puller, after finding himself surrounded at the Chosin Reservoir in Korea: "We have been searching for the enemy for some time now. He has finally revealed himself...and we are surrounded. That simplifies things. Attack in all directions."

Because I can't that's why. Congress threw two rocks at once, one at each crowd. Then Congress told both crowds, "We didn't do it! They did!" And just as Barnum said, they've been fooling some of the people all of the time ever since. You know better. Why don't you stop being part of that particular some of the people?

I'm gonna laugh if Biden pardons the capitol rioters in the name of unity. After all, it wasn't their fault, they were "lied to"

Democrats? Who the fuck are they? Do you mean Marxists, Bolsheviks and Jacobins? Leftist revolutionists have replaced class with race and identity. They realized that austerity for the New Soviet Man would not go far. They also realized that class warfare would not work in nation where even the dimmest wit and laziest clod could manage $500 cel phones and 72 inch LED TVs and enough for to make you physically ill. "You have nothing because 400 years of white devilry has taken it from you. Now is your time to take from them!"

Can you not see it already has? The Democrats are told they are the victims of their rich Republican bosses. Republicans are told they are victims of a biased liberal media. This foundation was laid before either of us were born. Mark Russell talked about it. Will Rogers talked about it. Mark Twain talked about it. Are you seriously arguing, "The Democrats started it"? When? How? Go back a hundred and fifty years, and please prove to me who threw the first stone.

It's all the same. He conned his supporters, and hired a bunch of pros. He then pardoned all his pros before they could be arrested and become cons. You can't separate them with a crowbar.

And the Fascist, Republican strategy of division, discord and agitation hasn't been in high gear these last 14 years? Please, professor. Educate us. Where does the Democratic strategy of division end and the Republican strategy of division begin? How is one even possible without the other? Please. I'm serious. If you can answer that question, you may give us the key to save our republic.

Guys, guys - I'm sure he fully intends to pardon Assange/Snowden in 2024. He just has to keep those cards close to his chest, until he can secure his 2024 reelection.
