Certainly a "chicken or egg", isn't it? I too am beginning to lean more towards the problem being with the people. I've seen on a local scale too many governments flip 180 degrees due to an influx of —not necessarily foreign immigrants, but transplants from liberal states. (and I'm no more happy to see them coming from socialist states than I am to see the ones who come from socialist countries). Of course that sends libertarians into a tailspin. It's easy to just always pin the blame on government, but some fault must lie with the kinds of people who demanded said government. Even in the absence of government, eventually people would demand one.

Pff. If that were the case, the libertarians would be running the show in California right now. Methinks there is more to it than 'not smiling enough'.

Banks don't see customers as a source of credit anymore. Used to be, banks could only loan out what their customers put in. now they just get it from the Fed and loan it out to the customers. Banks probably see depositors as some quaint relic of a bygone era. "Oh, you deposited $500. How cute."

I had a professor in nursing school tell us in our first class, Life insurance companies used to pay your healthcare expenses. I never bothered to see if it was true but it makes sense. Life insurance companies would want you to live as long as possible. Health insurance companies prefer you not to live so much.

It's amazing how none of her frustration is reserved for the RINOs in Congress who were dragging their feet during the two years they could have actually accomplished some goals. Of course, they weren't their goals. Maybe that's why they couldn't be bothered. If Ann has so much influence perhaps she should train her anger on ousting the RINOs who have been wasting space in the House and Senate, term after term.

You're trying really hard to make it not seem like Nancy is being really desperate here. She doesn't have the sole power to commandeer the Capitol building, and she's acting like a clown. The SCOTUS is probably gonna intervene if she doesn't relent, and Nancy doesn't have the support there for a favorable decision.
