Uncommitted didn't do as well as None of the Above. :sorrow: Maybe Haley can offer Uncommitted a VP spot and grab up that other 3%.

Bro it's literally the county that magicked a bunch of ballots out of thin air when Biden needed to flip things around in the dead of night. You don't think Trump's had his eyes on them?

Meh, it's Fulton County. It's not "Nowhere, GA." It's the county that had the (very convenient) plumbing issue the night of the election in 2020. It's not a matter of whether there's shenanigans going on in Fulton, just what kind of shenanigans are taking place. For all we know, Willis probably pissed off someone in her office and they leaked some juicy details to someone who could use them.

That's why he's my back-up plan. It would be more strategic than anything else. If Trump is prevented from being on the ballot in November, the GOP needs to know exactly how many votes they lost, because they let a few pissant D.A's in the blue-est areas of the country prevent the people from choosing who they wanted to nominate/elect. Writing in Trump won't do that (it won't be counted). Staying home won't do that (it definitely won't be counted.) You could vote for the LP candidate, but that party has been in existence for half a century and are lucky to get 3% of the vote in a presidential election (and plus, the official Libertarian Party has basically impaled themselves on the fence trying to be all things to all people in recent years.) I guess that would leave RFK,jr as the only viable protest vote, and I (speaking for myself) won't hesitate to cast that vote if it comes down to it. The Count will probably vote for Biden, maybe even more than once, if it gets to be past midnight on election day and they come up short again and need help filling out extra ballots.

You're not wrong, but . . . you do realize that's exactly the same defense people use for Trump's failings, right? I'm not going to attack Kennedy with the same harsh words that Swordsmyth uses. I wish him well. In the broader scope of things, he's much closer to an ally than an enemy, and frankly that's good enough for me, considering where this country is at this point in time.

And as I've said before, they need to prove it. It's difficult for you to see, because you've established the basis that Trump is unquestionably one of them. If that's your foundation, then nothing I could argue would sway you in the least. But, let's suppose for a moment that Trump was removed from the equation entirely (imagine he never won in 2016, and he isn't running for office). —There's still a large remnant of the GOP voter base that reflexively seeks out the least-establishment politician they can find (they might get it *wrong* according to you, but the intent is there). I am not seeing any such behavior from the left. The one politician they had who was anti-establishment (RFK,jr) was drummed out of the primary contest before it even began, to thunderous applause.

Let's suppose for a moment, that we just ignore them. They're trying to get a reaction out of us, but we're committed to not falling for it. We aren't going to give them what they want. They can keep pummeling us in the face, and we'll just grin because obviously they want us to throw a punch back so they can tell mom. Let's flip that around, and Go Ghandi on them. Any time someone steps on our neck, we just won't fight back. Do you think doing that, in any way, inhibits the power-brokers from progressing with their agenda? If we just sat still and silent, not reacting, I mean. . . If the answer is no, then why bother being concerned that another Jan 6 might happen? If they're already going to spin the narrative how they want to (history shows this is the case), without any reaction or input from us, what does it really matter? The vast majority of Trump supporters are patiently awaiting their opportunity to go out and vote for the man again, despite how much crap is being flung in their faces. Despite the fact that they already know someone is likely going to f*ck with their votes. Despite the fact that he may not even be on the ballot in November. All things considered, I would rate their tolerance levels equivalent to that of a special needs teacher in a classroom of autistic students. I don't know how much more passive you expect people to be in the face of such blatant political oppression. But you sit here and mock people for uttering their discontent, as if they're playing right into the hands of the establishment.

That's very optimistic. I'm thinking they're reading through our posts and sipping frou-frou dessert lattes at the campus coffee shop, surrounded by an army of pink-haired, hairy-armpitted feminists and emasculated men with man-buns, while taking turns throwing darts at a poster of Ron Paul. (someone reading this probably just said, "holy ****, is there a hidden camera around me?")

I expect him to "lose" as well, but what becomes of your (and Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, and Joy Reid's) theory to make him dictator for life? Also that photo is from 2005.

I've notice lately that we'll sometimes have a thousand+ people viewing the forums (1,486 reading this "political news" subforum at the time of this post). Yet maybe less than 50 active members. Sometimes I like to think it's the folks from days long past, who still check in to see what's up, but have an enormous degree of self-discipline to not log in and join the fray, lol. But now I guess it's probably some college kids from Youngstown State University studying to be the next generation of Fani Willises and Engorons.

acptulsa If Trump loses, or "loses" (with quotations, à la 2020), what happens to your theory? And to answer your previous question, I think TPTB are going all in on the democrat party. I do think there are some figureheads in the GOP who are still useful to their ambitions (McConnell, Graham, etc), but there's no easy replacement for them that won't be scrutinized by the grassroots. The Democratic party is, by comparison, much easier to control and get everyone to fall in line without thinking. (hence the narrative about the GOP being full of chaos at the moment, and unfit to govern)

Trump will not be "installed for life." That is a leftist talking point if there ever was one. If anything, we're closer to having Biden installed for life, as democrats do what they accuse their opponents of doing. Hint hint: They're running around telling everyone that Trump is going to end democracy. Let's see if the hypocrisy holds true for this as well.

At around 13:05 in this video you see why it might not be so easy to just move this case if Fani is disqualified. (interview coming from the former D.A. of Fulton County, which starts at the 9 minute mark) The best chance she has to see the outcome she wants, is to recuse herself, and let her office take over the case while she does her best to stay out of it. Then again, if she committed perjury, this case may suddenly end up being the last thing on her mind. I really think it's a very slim chance that any other county in Georgia will touch this case. Maybe DeKalb. But that would be moving the case from the most corrupt county in this state, to the second-most-corrupt. I guess we could find out who's been sleeping with who there, as well. Former Democrat Governor of GA Roy Barnes was called to the stand and asked why he turned down Fani's request to be made special prosecutor, and his reply was basically that his law practice would be ruined in this state if he took on Trump. (Roy Barnes is the guy who had the guts to remove the confederate battle emblem from the old GA flag, and even *he* doesn't want to touch this with a 10-foot pole). This isn't New York.

Not sure if Judge E. had any principles to begin with. But what can you do? People will tell you that Trump will do the same thing when he takes office. Then those same people will mock Trump because he never went after Hillary. It cannot be both things at once. You cannot both fear that Trump will abuse his power, and then mock him for not doing so. If you put that into a calculator it with throw out a syntax error.
