That's what you took away from it? I thought Vivek did a pretty damn good job of shedding light on the issue of war profiteering, corruption within the GOP establishment, and this absurd tendency by the GOP to hire their haters to moderate their debates for them (no other political party in the world does this), which is probably one reason we get absolutely sh!tty debates with stupid questions that don't address any interesting issues. All of those are in varying degrees more important than footwear.

How do we change it? There was a thread about a week ago bemoaning how Gen Z is not having enough sex. Just don't have sex with these women. Similar thing happened in Georgia. Carried the governorship & SOS but lost both US Senate seats. Lots of theories try to legitimize as to why this happened but none are particularly convincing. 99/100 average voters who vote in statewide races are not going to leave blanks on the ballot, much less vote for someone across the aisle. You might have a handful here and there who have their reasons, but most folks don't break rank that hard.

What's going to destroy the GOP is running candidates like Nikkil Haley and Chris Christie. I get that many in the GOP don't like Trump. But they'd better figure out, and figure out quickly, how to at least pretend to capitalize on populist sentiments. Right or wrong, people saw Trump as 'it's us and him versus the establishment.' That's a provenly winning platform (shallow as it may be, or is, or thought to be). The GOP isn't even trying to sell themselves in that light. The only reason he gets so many views is because they're trying so hard to shut him down. Glenn Greenwald was also a victim of a hostile takeover of a board of directors.
