But Tucker doesn't like weed. So booooooooooo! never mind that the video has 394,000 with 16k likes and 500 dislikes, and he's reaching an audience and changing minds in ways that we desperately need right now. If Tucker doesn't get fired from Fox soon, it'll be a g-d damned miracle.

Well he got Conway's hubby to out himself. Maybe it worked. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/george-conway-renews-attacks-on-trump-calls-on-president-to-resign/ar-AADe1w8?ocid=spartandhp I shudder to think what would have happened if Trump had already resigned and Pence was at the helm.

+rep if I had any. This goes back to what I was saying before, is that if Trump only ever gets negative feedback then how the hell is he supposed to know what people want? We must be the hardest people to please in the entire world, and frankly there's not a lot of political points to be gained from listening to us. We aren't exactly the kingmakers we see ourselves as in our minds. Rand Paul isn't wasting any opportunity. https://twitter.com/RandPaul

Again with the "We" I didn't drop the bombs. Y'all make it sound like one of us on this forum has the power to call off the dogs with a phone call, but that person won't make the call so now people just have to accept that there will be refugee floods.

See, that kind of talk is exactly what I'm talking about. Libertarians have been out-for-blood with the tea party because they only agree on just 80% of what the libertarian party was going for, but you know, I would say actually making it into office is much more than "moderate success." A Senate seat!, no less. Libertarians didn't put Rand in office, sorry to tell ya. They were too busy pouting in 2010 because the tea party took Ron's idea and ran with it (I will be honest, it's a damn shame that Ron Paul will never get credit for all the things he did), meanwhile Rand was using the wave to get into office. He had a strategy. The libertarian party needs alphas. They need people who know how to harness energy and steer it. Granted, that's a problem because being a pack leader goes against the nature of libertarians, but if they want to win and actually be a player in politics, they're going to have to get over that. I don't see any other way.

Forget the immigration part. He absolutely nailed it when it came to identifying how libertarians reason and how sometimes they're their own worst enemy. Open borders is just ONE of the issues where strict adherence to 'absolutes' is likely to end in disaster. Bottom line: You need a strategy. Taking all the libertarians off to go hide in a corner and educate each other on how virtuous your philosophy is, has gotten NO results. You've gotta stop preaching to the choir. Does this movement even have a strategy? I'm loathe to even call it a "movement" anymore since it's been stagnant since 2012. (really I think it peaked in 2008). But we have a lot of people willing to provide each other with circular affirmation of their beliefs, and inexhaustible stockpiles of energy to chastise anyone who deviates to grab those fleeting chances to claim a victory once in a while.

I don't think you're ever gonna get around the need for leaders. I mean, jeez, look what happened to this place after Ron Paul retired. Whatever trivial differences we put aside to rally behind Ron have become full blown schisms.

I don't dislike libertarians. I dislike their methods. The very premise of the thread is to give bad advice on what libertarians should do to become even more politically impotent than they already are. What exactly is that going to solve? If you put two libertarians in a room together, I swear to God they will fight to the death to determine who is more libertarian. That's just an observation after visiting these forums for the past 11 years. We've reached a point where you can't even take delight in small victories because someone comes along to berate you for not demanding an all-or-nothing deal, with much finger-wagging. I'm gonna drop this post, again, because some folks still don't get it: We are running out of time The highlight:

I'm stuck somewhere between viewing the alt-right in the way D'Souza does in Death of a Nation (they're just more liberals infiltrating the ranks of the GOP and have more in common with dixiecrats than the average republican), versus believing the whole thing is just a made up concept coined by the media to incite a sort of *zinger* effect to play on emotions like the cries of "Racism!" or "Nationalism!" have been utilized, to the point of being utterly meaningless. Look at Europe. Anything in Europe that isn't full blown leftist socialism is considered "Far right!" and TPTB just throw that phrase out over the airwaves as much as possible because they'd rather not face off on the issues and risk being exposed as the true radicals.

That would never happen. libertarians these days will sooner reach out all the way to the far left because they find something like pot in common and think they're gonna build some super coalition around it (nevermind the left will ban 99% of other things, which always struck me as downright weird, "Oh you gotta be 21 to smoke cigarettes but you like pot? Oh cool, let the kids have some!"), but they won't work with people who agree with them on maybe half the issues. I don't care if I'm flamed for this but, it's hard to tell libertarians these days from leftist SJW college freaks when it comes to being part of the 'cool kids club.' Step outta line and down comes the hammer. To be able to see that, you have to step back and have some degree of objectivity, which *most* libertarians absolutely do not possess.

This has substance and isn't based on media falsehood and whipped up frenzy. Are we sure we want to dedicate our time to this, instead of continuing to follow the MSM's cues on where to look for evil Russian super-villians? Maybe I should call Amash's office and tell him not to lose sight of the Russian boogeymen. ---------------------------------- (Seriously though, this is more like it. This is the kind of stuff Amash should be/have been focused on))

Truth. It sucks but it would just be further and further subdivided and subdivided until someone made king of the ant hill over who is thy most libertarian-est than thou. Happens here all the time. Piss on the litmus paper and if it doesn't come out a pure color, you're out of the club. It's like an episode of Survivor, Libertarian style.

Alright I'm guilty of the pickle jar one. Put the stopper in the sink drain, run the water screaming hot, turn the jar upside down, and the lid sits under the hot water for half a minute. THEN I can open it with my bare hands. I think I am the last millennial on earth to buy a smart phone. I got one last month after going into Best Buy and realizing they don't have music CDs anymore. Man was I heartbroken. Tried Target across the street as well. No music CDs. I basically got a smart phone just so I could listen to music I want to hear in my car.

Reiterated. What I'm saying is that I've never seen anyone smoke a joint and suddenly be invigorated to fight against tyranny. I think a lot of people get high/drunk/wasted because they don't want to (or can't) deal with problems. It's one thing to have your S%*^ together and want to get high. It's another thing if you want to get high instead of getting your S^*@ together. Nothing I am saying is to be construed as support for banning the stuff. I would approach it more like a friend giving advice.

He may be on to something. Legalization and government involvement aside, Marx once said "Religion is the opiate of the masses." What then would cannabinoids and opiates be? You gotta stay aware of what's going on. Doping yourself up doesn't help.

Then it seems we've gone from one extreme to the other then. Schools these days are teaching people to be consumption robots. Apparently schools of libertarian economic thought have been infected as well. To me it just seems very Keynesian, and maybe that's why it feels out-of-place here—this idea that you can spend (consume) your way to prosperity. It's supposed to be absolutely disastrous when the government does it, but somehow it's perfectly viable when the average joe does it. We just can't seem to come to terms that it's a crappy idea in general. We've gone from the guy whose job is to grow apples, to the guy whose job is to eat apples. Maybe it is not ideal to be too focused on one or the other, but I'll put it this way: only one of those two guys is gonna starve when times get tough.

I'm not sure about that, honestly. China will probably win because as a society, they have not adopted this new-age thinking that they've somehow moved beyond needing to work for a living and can indefinitely survive just by living off the fumes of wealth created by the productivity of previous generations. —That's inherently an American idea. Here in the USA, productivity/work-ethic is an old-fashioned idea and perpetual consumption is the future. In other words, we're fk'd, but not because of tariff policies. It's because we now think wealth comes from "consumption", not "creation".

such nice, friendly neighborhood liberals. they pretend to be your friend, and advocate you but really they just want black peoples votes, mexican illegal immigrant votes, and rich white liberal slaver votes. Its a reciprocating cycle for votes. Clean air, clean streets...throw the "dirty people" in the trash and out of sight... cant allow liberal policies and the hippy movement prove that it destroyed so many people, get them off the streets to prove socialism works (it doesnt work...)...Gotham is safe , liberals saved the day once again, and not without raising taxes.
