While I recognize you asked for expert opinions, I won't let that stop me from offering one (hey you know what they say about opinions!) I have a Leopold Mark IV, a Nikon Monarch, Trijicon gear....but for a purely wonderful piece of glass (there must be a way to mount one to a picatinny rail), consider looking at Swarovski. My first experience with Swarovski glass was using a pair of Swarovski binoculars, which, and I know it can be hard to believe, are absurdly more clear and detailed than any binoculars I'd ever used before. And they bring in more light somehow, so at dusk, you can see for an extra 10-20 minutes when you'd set down any other set of binoculars. After that, I tried a Swarovski scope, and it's the same deal. They're just so clear it's hard to explain. Now in terms of night-optics, having played a bit with those, the problem I have (and people here with more experience are probably better to chime in) is unless you're ready to plunk down SERIOUS (think $5k+ coinage) for truly professional grade gear, the more budget stuff (and even now we're still talking $1k-$3k) is hit or miss depending on conditions. Electronic night-gear and shooting out to the distance you want, at night....i'm not even sure where one would start that would be highly effective. Man I'd love to plink with an LMT sometime. Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks... I've had a lot of fun at the range. People see what I'm doing and want to try it for themselves. I fire one shot, zero the scope on that shot and then put one round through the bulls eye. I then put one round through each corner bulls eye on the target, just to demonstrate it is zeroed.

By the way.... I found this video to be very informative. Zeroed all my scopes this way and saved myself a lot of time. Do they teach this technique in the military? Edited to mention, that scope you are looking at, has free shipping on Amazon.

Been thinking about getting this one for my Remington 700 Ultimate Muzzleloader. Got this on it right now and my son has been taking deer at over 200 yards with it. I'm no expert, but what I've been told is that one should spend about the same amount for their glass as they did for the rifle.

RIP Jo Cox. I surely hope your senseless murder was purely the result of a deranged individual with no outside influence. In other news, markets are loving the new polling showing Remain revival.

I haven't posted in a long time, but felt I had to share this one (which many have likely already seen). Having been on this site since 2007, I've heard a lot of crazy conspiracies, false flags, rumors etc. I don't believe 99% of it, as I believe the simplest answer is usually the correct answer. And I admit I have a Brexit bias. I feel bad the poor gal isn't even cold yet, but when I read this and what happened, wow, could this be an actual false flag?? It really, really felt that way right off the bat to me. In fact, look at the stock market today. If this event could marginally change the Brexit/Remain balance by scaring poor people into solidarity with Remain, Remain is bullish for the market. Today, it felt like after this event was digested, people are now placing bets it will shame people into Remain votes, which is why the market has turned around.

If you recall, I made a claim in 2011 that Ron stated in an interview that he'd like to see military spending cut by 75%. I was wrong. He said 70%. The statement I drew from is in this video:

Question from Wolf starts at the 2:20 mark.

In any event, I hope all is well. I haven't been actively posting in the forums much lately - my intuitions about Rand's tactics and what I felt the results would be unfortunately came to fruition, and it's disheartening to see the amount of support Trump is receiving from libertarian and allegedly limited government advocates - but I've appreciated seeing your firm and resolute opposition to Trump.

Hi. I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovinia (BiH) and i noticed that you posted "Retired guard veteran of Desert Storm, Bosnia and Iraq." 20 years after war you are first person that I get to ask this. I apologise if it is rude or inconsiderate but If I may ask : Where were you stationed in BiH and what was you doing there (you personaly and your army)....I like most people in BiH knew that UN/NATO/UNPROFOR/KFOR had bases in BiH but we still cant find out what were they doing there(BiH goverment is corrupt and hides all reports of your missions..any everything else).

Ron Paul has never been an advocate for anything violent, and if I thought I was surrounded by violent revolutionaries, I'd go too.

That was an excellent post, Klamath. I choked up at the Olympic stadium imagery.
