A heavy heart after seeing videos that show the immediate aftermath, prayers to the families of the victims and first responders who will not sleep tonight, even when they get off their shift.
Death is never easy to witness.
It could have easily been innocent Mark Hughes, who cops lied to saying they had not only video evidence of him shooting, but that several witnesses stepped forward and said they saw him firing into the crowd. There were even videos of him walking around as the shooting was occurring, but that didn't stop the cops from trying to frame him and posting his picture on their twitter account - which was retweeted thousands of times.
Mob mentality is a very dangerous thing.
Yeah, I'm glad womenfolk like Rose Wilder and Ayn Rand just followed what the menfolk were saying back in the day, and sat back idle as the menfolk started and influenced the libertarian movement. Logic, evidence, and facts were just too intense for their delicate female brains.
You don't even have to know you're looking into a camera for it to occur. Enter the age of long-range iris scanning. If you have a camera that can zoom, you can capture an iris scan, and this engineering professor built an iris scan that could be accurate anywhere from 12m away.
Considering there's a list of phones out there that already offer iris scanning, I don't think you need too powerful of a camera. The lowest I saw was 13MP, which you can buy pretty standard now.
I don't know, iris biometrics are nearly foolproof and the alogorithm used for iris identification looks for around 5x more unique features than fingerprinting. It's why high-security companies have been using iris scanners for the past decade or so (and probably longer). Unlike fingerprints which can alter over time, the iris can remain the same for decades (excluding certain eye diseases, of course). They also use the unique features to form a human 'barcode.'
Apparently the chance of finding two identical iris' is 1 in 10^78.
BMI rates are also based and calculated on white, european men. Does that make me a racist and a sexist? No. It's fact, and it still poses an issue for anyone not in that demographic, especially for blacks and post-menopausal women, and it's been researched and proven.
