Make Trade, Not War: China’s “Go West” strategy was brought into sharp focus at a forum in Shanghai last weekend. Billed as the Belt and Road Initiative: … The New Silk Roads, or the Belt and Road Initiative, involve six key economic corridors, connecting Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. … Of course, Beijing’s massive economic project goes way beyond merely exporting China’s excess production capacity. That is part of the plan, along with building selected industrial bases in MENA countries … this is will connect western China to the eastern Mediterranean. … developing a corridor through projects such as the Red Med railway. … A look at the numbers tells a significant part of the story. In 2010, China-Arab trade was worth US$145 billion. By 2014, it had reached $250 billion and rising. China is now the largest exporter to assorted MENA nations …

What foolish nonsense. Individuals and private groups exposing crimes is not government intervention. Individual Americans have every right to speak out and expose the criminal government of Israel and its disgusting acts. Don't confuse the private acts and speech and efforts of individuals and private groups acting in their own capacity with those of government interventionism. The neoconist interventionism is the US government supporting the occupation, land stealing, crop destroying, livestock poisoning, bull-dozing of homes, murders, kidnappings, shootings, home invasions, confiscations, concentration camp zones, interrogations, and more is being funded and supported by the US government with $3 billion in direct aid annually, plus billions more in indirect support through military tactical and advisory aid and support, state department aid and political cover, and US lobbying on behalf of the foreign interest, covering up the crimes, silencing criticism, opposing criticism. That is there the intervention is. If you truly opposed intervention, you would be calling out this interventionism and exposing it and calling to end it, not attacking those who do, or partaking in the cover up and suppression of truth.

Washington Humiliates South Korea, Threatens North Korea Fearing that peace might break out with the two Koreas talking to each other, Washington instructed South Korean President Moon Jae-in to keep the message about anything but peace. It is not just Trump. A former top official for the Obama administration warned Moon that South Korea was not going to get anywhere with the North Koreans unless they have the “US behind them”. … The official went on to say, “If South Koreans are viewed as running off the leash, it will exacerbate tension within the alliance”. Running off the leash! Now more humiliation … During the talks it was agreed for North Korea to participate in the Winter Olympics … The two countries will even march together under a common flag, and future talks between the two are planned … the two Koreas have “engaged in the most substantive direct talks in years”. Neocons … are outraged … To Washington, South Korea talking peace is weak, running off the leash and going it alone without its US master. … In retaliation the US sent more nukes to Guam, and put the state of Hawaii on a full alert that a “ballistic missile was inbound“. The nukes outbound to Guam are real; the ones inbound to Hawaii were fake, … The US wants its chorus to perform the tragedy of telling North Korea to obey or watch 500,000 of their children die. As Madeleine Albright said about Iraq’s 500,000 dead children from US sanctions, “the price is worth it“. … The US continues to block efforts at diplomacy, and express its contempt for South Korea’s elected President Moon Jae-in … elected on a peace platform … Moon’s predecessor Park Geun-hye sang from the US hymnbook … and now she is in prison. Peace is not anything that Washington’s plutocrats want to hear … The message of the humiliation from US apparatchiks is that if Moon does not change his tune the US will try to undermine South Korea’s democracy with a regime change project …The US habitually meddles in other’s elections, and wants to keep tensions high on the Korean peninsula … Even at the risks of a nuclear war, which the US proposes making easier.

The "False Alarm" The “false alarm” delivered to a population of 1.5 million in the US Pacific island state of Hawaii on Saturday morning has laid bare the clear and present danger of a nuclear war. … The fact that this event is so rapidly disappearing from the front pages of major newspapers and is being reduced to a secondary story by television news is itself a disturbing indication of how much more is involved in the Hawaii ballistic missile warning than the public is being told. The corporate media, working in tight coordination with the US government, is in full containment mode. Monday night, all three US television networks broadcast virtually identical reports … the official story that the chaos was caused by the inadvertent error of a single employee. … The event and its implications are being minimized. No one is going to conduct an investigation and present findings to the public. There will be no televised public hearings before the US Congress.

Slapping an Israeli Soldier More Newsworthy than Shooting a Palestinian Child in the Face Israeli soldiers shot 14-year-old Palestinian Mohammad Tamimi point-blank in the face with a rubber-jacketed bullet on December 14, 2017, in Nabi Saleh … The boy had to undergo six hours of surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma. An hour later, Mohammad’s cousin, Ahed Tamimi, slapped and kicked at an armed Israeli soldier. Early the next week, after video of Ahed’s actions went viral, Israeli soldiers raided the Tamimi home at 3 a.m., arresting Ahed and confiscating the family’s phones, computers and laptops. Ahed has been denied bail and could face years in prison. …

In Midst of North-South Progress Trump’s Tillerson Threatens Military Action Against North Korea Following up on Tuesday’s statements from Vancouver that the US and allied nations want to ignore the North Korea diplomatic efforts with South Korea and pursue new sanctions, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson piled on with a threat of US military action against North Korea. … North Korea has repeatedly suggested negotiations in recent weeks, and been rebuffed every single time by the US. … The US position, as stated now, boils down to pretending diplomacy is not ongoing and threatening to start a massive war with North Korea to punish them for the lack of diplomacy, even though important bilateral talks are in fact ongoing and … the US refuses to participate. This makes the position increasingly puzzling and nonsensical, as the US keeps threatening war despite positive developments, presents diplomacy as an end-goal while spurning every opportunity to engage in it …

Koreas’ Olympic Détente Upends Washington Strategy The 20+ nations in Vancouver talking about North Korea repeatedly heard the same message from US officials: pay no attention to the bilateral talks between North and South Korea, with officials suggesting they not be “fooled” by the talks and suggesting that nothing would come of them. That’s a problem for the US though, because something is coming of those talks. North and South Korea … made big progress in just a few meetings, agreeing to march unified at next month’s Winter Olympic, and even field a common team for ice hockey. Significant reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula seems to be happening, and it’s a big blow to Trump Administration strategy, which has centered on isolating North Korea and presenting the whole world, beyond China and Russia of course, as unified against them. If even South Korea sees the merits of diplomacy in the face of US talk of military action, the US unwillingness to engage in direct talks with North Korea looks all the more like the real aberration …

The whole concept of the government trying to keep Amtrak alive as a cross country form of transportation is a failure. Cross country train travel is not a comparable alternative to jet travel. People are not going to prefer train for a four day trip from Phoenix to Atlanta and another four days for the return, when they can purchase airline tickets for the same or lower price that does the same trip in only hours. People will however take the train in lieu of driving intercity travel. An Amtrak focus on neighboring intercity travel would be far more popular. Taking an afternoon or morning train from Phoenix to Tucson, or Vegas, or L.A. would be very popular and cost effective.

Fourth , … refugees … voluntarily return to Syria. And fifth, Syria is free of weapons of mass destruction.

Good Michael Rozeff piece from lewrockwell.com : the U.S. intends to build a 30,000 man army manned by locals in Syria’s northern region … Tillerson’s plans for Syria are those of an empire whose principals believe they have the right to intervene in foreign countries on their own say-so and for their own ends … The U.S. plan means in effect a permanent U.S. presence inside Syria … Turkey has vowed to strangle it, threatening invasion. Sooner or later, Assad will actively find means, military, political and other, to regain control of northern Syria as he is doing now in Idlib. Tillerson has tried to dampen the reaction with a cover story. He doesn’t deny the creation of the force. … He claims it’s projected as an anti-ISIS force … His explanation or shift in description doesn’t hold water because anti-ISIS forces in those regions have already overcome major portions of ISIS forces without the formation of an army of the type being projected … permanent U.S. bases inside Syria. The defeat of ISIS as a state and territorial entity has largely been accomplished … Why is the U.S. even present in Syria uninvited? Why doesn’t it leave? The anti-ISIS justification proffered by Tillerson is not an answer that makes sense. … The U.S. is interjecting itself into a trouble spot and creating more trouble in its quest for its own foothold … of leverage and dominance …on plans and activities launched months ago. … the Kurdish-led SDF … had a very different understanding of plans: “They have a strategy policy for decades to come. There will be military, economic, and political agreements in the long-term between the leadership of the northern areas ” . The U.S. military expressed a third view: “Our mission…is to defeat in designated areas of Iraq and Syria and to set conditions for follow-on operations to increase regional stability.” …

I must deduce that if one examines semantic objectivism of postmodernism generator, one is faced with a choice: either reject neocapitalist narrative of the generation or conclude that consciousness is responsible for hierarchy of generation of postmodernism, but only if the prefuture postmodernsim narrativity is distinct from art; otherwise, we can assume that the raison d’etre of the pastprepostmodernism of the reader is social comment abstractly distinct from the generator.

http://www.wnd.com/2018/01/1-state-aims-to-be-sanctuary-state-for-gun-rights/ A West Virginia lawmaker has introduced a bill to the state House that would outlaw enforcement of current and future gun-control laws that violate the U.S. or state constitutions. House Bill 2138, introduced by Republican Del. Pat McGeehan, would effectively nullify all federal gun control within the state’s boundaries, according to a report from the Tenth Amendment Center. The bill would make any attempt to enforce such laws a felony. HB2138 reads: “All current and future federal, state, and local statutes, ordinances, laws, orders, rules, and any other actions which attempt to restrict, tax, or regulate the possession, use, discharge in lawful self-defense, transportation, purchase, acquisition, sale, transfer, ownership, carrying, manufacture, or repair of firearms, firearm accessories, ammunition and their accouterments contradict the true meaning and original intent of the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and Section twenty-two, Article III of the Constitution of the State of West Virginia. Those statutes, ordinances, laws, orders and rules which violate the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of West Virginia are invalid, and therefore, are null and void.”

This is not an article. Louis Anslow is just an idiot nobody posting a blog mainly to himself. His juvenile 7th grade level writing is nothing but a bunch off tinfoil hat delusional accusations strung together without a single piece of actual evidence in support. For instance the loony Louis Anslow writes 162 million unsolicited emails were sent by botnets in Ukraine; that Paul's success in online polls were nothing but a bunch of Russian "bots" (Sounds like Sean Hannity), and popularity of his articles on Digg and others were nothing but Russian bots- A series of self delusional innuendo and imaginary explanations without any factual bases. Tinfoil hat nutcase Louis Anslow fails to explain the popularity of the message of freedom and the US Constitution. Paranoid zealots like Louis Anslow fail to account for the tens of thousands of people that showed up at Dr. Paul's rallies, or the inspired passion and activism of many thousands of grassroots events of individuals spontaneously having rallies, sign wavings, marches and other activist events, sometimes numbering in the hundreds to thousands ( a movement not seen with any other candidate for at least the past century) , the hundreds of thousands of individually homemade signs and banners hand posted and hung across the nation; or the nearly $7 million in donations generated from individual American citizens in a single day money bomb. Louis Anslow the fool wants to write off all the online American activism as automated "bots", yet all the friending and associations by individuals on Facebook and Myspace are verifiable individuals; The online activism with thousands of individual comments and postings and blogs and editorials each individually unique and thoughtful and signed by real names of individuals dedicated to activism, entire websites such as ronpaulforums and dailypaul and hundreds of others created and operated by individuals, the petitions, the pledges all with real actual names of verifiable people, the creation of many tens of thousands of individual videos on YouTube and other sites showing activism across the nation, creative songs and artistic music and video and art and more; - all these things that are impossible by bots. This same wave of people (millions that voted for Dr. Paul in the primaries) of highly impassioned, dedicated individual activists can easily and legitimately vote up online polls or articles (except in the demented wacko tinfoil mind of Louis Anslow).

Good quote by Lawrence Vance at LewRockwell.com : According to a new report issued by the American Civil Liberties Union and Human Rights Watch, “Police arrest more people for marijuana use than for all violent crimes — combined.” On any given day in the United States, “at least 137,000 people sit behind bars on simple drug-possession charges.” This in spite of the fact that medical marijuana is legal in 29 states, recreational marijuana is legal in 8 states, and the possession of small amounts of marijuana has been decriminalized in 21 states. As I recently stated: “No one should ever be arrested, fined, or imprisoned for possessing a plant the government doesn’t approve of. Not in the land of the free.” Want to eliminate half of the cops in the United States? End the war on drugs. It is, after all, a war on freedom.

Excerpts and comments: Confirming that the US military presence inside Syria had little to do with fighting ISIS, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson unveiled … the real US strategy for Syria: overthrow of the Assad government. … Tillerson vowed that the United States military would continue to occupy Syrian territory until three conditions are met: First: ISIS must be destroyed. The same gang Washington helped create, train their recruits before they join, provide aerial protection by creating buffer zones to keep the SAA away from ISIS (before Russia got involved) and arm them via rat lines from Libya , or through Washington’s “moderate” terrorists and Al Qaeda groups.] Second: Assad must go.

They already had democratic elections and Assad won and won again. Washington does not like the elections, only outcomes. Washington does not care what Syrians want. So the Washington Reich unlawfully invades and militarily occupies a sovereign nation while training terrorist proxy armies to disrupt, kill, destroy and wreak havoc until Washington gets what it wants. Sounds like a military toppling with a facade of phony baloney.

Pentagon Proposes Nuclear First-Strikes to Counter Cyberattacks on the Pentagon’s new Nuclear Posture Review ... the details continue to slowly emerge, and show a scramble to establish more pretexts for nuclear first strikes. This includes cyberattacks.... Pentagon’s document proposes the use of nuclear first strikes against cyber foes, presenting that as the only “realistic” option to such threats. ... Which is another problem. US assignments of blame in cyberattacks are rarely grounded in evidence or reality, but rather they blame whoever is politically expedient at the time, whether it’s Russia, China, or North Korea. Such reckless blame is relatively consequence-free when the US just responds with angry threats, but nuclear strikes could quickly start massive, civilization ending nuclear warfare. Making nuclear war more likely is the general theme of the Nuclear Posture Review ... The Trump Administration has spent its entire time in power easing restrictions on the military, and giving commanders more and more leeway on their operations. It might not be such a surprise for that to spill over into nuclear weapon policy.

They closed the thread before I was able to respond to you, so I just wanted to say, I agree with all of your concerns about Rand Paul. I still think he's better than the other options, but he isn't my ideal. I'm most likely going to vote for him, but I don't blame people who won't. And if I was still going to live in NYS in 2016 (I'm moving to Virginia for college, which as we know is a swingy state) I would be less likely to vote for him. Even still, if the LP candidate is too good to pass up (Someone more like Harry Browne than Gary Johnson... the latter of which was more of a lesser of five evils) I would consider voting for them.
