Buhwho? Ron Paul? I must be missing something. I think you're on the right track. Witnessed a lot of hatred for him even here. I suspect that were those people to get a briefing on global political reality, they might not be quite so harsh. Nobody can credibly deny that the man has inherited a mess of epic proportions. Nobody, not even the much vaunted Ron Paul would be able to breeze through and make all things right. Speaking of the crap with which Trump must deal as prezzy, I have been told that there is talk out there that our shiny new president has appropriated a special Marine strike force of some 2000+++ members who raided a CIA data center a few days ago. No idea whether this is true, but I hope like hell that it is. If it is, it would go a long way toward assuaging my doubts and suspicions about the man; suspicions I hold not because he is Trump or due to what he has said or even done, but because this is politics.

From Freethought Project: As families gather around the dinner table to feast on turkey and express what they are thankful for, dark forces within the US government are plotting their next war and thinking up a way to sell it to the American people. … Even the mainstream media is now reluctantly being forced to admit that the US government plans and has planned false flag attacks on America to be used as a pretext for war. In an article this week, Newsweek reported on the recently declassified files associated with John f. Kennedy that prove the US planned to stage attacks on America using a Soviet aircraft to kick off a conflict with the USSR that arguably would’ve led to the beginning of World War III. … Newsweek’s report … the US government wanted to manufacture or obtain Soviet aircraft so they could launch an attack on America or friendly bases and use those attacks as a pretext for war. As Newsweek reported, the memo shows that the department, along with the CIA, considered buying Soviet aircraft to stage the attacks, even getting estimates from the Air Force on how long it would take and how much it would cost to produce the planes domestically and covertly. …

Newly Released JFK Files Reveal Plans for False Flag Attack The recently released batch of files related to the Kennedy assassination includes a curious document revealing secret plans by the US government to purchase or build Soviet aircraft for the purpose of staging false flag attacks on the US or its allies, thus giving Washington the pretext it needed to go to war with Moscow or its allies. According to the partially declassified document, a March 22, 1962 meeting attended by the Special Group Augmented (SGA), a high-level Kennedy administration committee charged with overthrowing the Cuban government, included a discussion on the different possibilities for obtaining Soviet planes. … The document also explains …: “There is a possibility that such aircraft could be used in a deception operation designed to confuse enemy planes in the air, to launch a surprise attack against enemy installations or in a provocation operation in which Soviet aircraft would appear to attack US or friendly installations in order to provide an excuse for US intervention,” …

I have an old Stihl 041. It is a beast. Also have Husqvarna 455. Very good saw. Also a Stihl MS 250. Good running, but some parts a bit delicate. I broke the nib off the fuel tank to which the hose attaches. New tank is $100+. I put in a grommet and a new, longer line and we're basically good. The older saws are a handful to heft all day, but they last eternally and are very powerful compared with their modern equivalents. At least that has been my experience.

Ideally, I agree. Real world time: not going to happen. People are too bred to the Four Necessities for actual freedom. The tendency for people to conglomerate into ever larger blocs is overwhelming. The only thing that seems to dull the drive forward (progressivism's truer meaning?) are major cataclysms such as the Black Plague. Even those have failed to halt the net "progress" of humans. It has had its advantages, to be sure - even to the shit-prole at the bottom of the heap, but I question whether the net results have been worth the price we have paid in so many ways, not the least of which has been our individual freedoms.

That part? The right isn't granted. It is inherent to what we are as individual beings, beholden to no others save that we bring no unjust harm. Autodiathism is the natural and proper state of a man. Honestly, I am surprised that von Mises would write such a thing. Is this possibly a false attribution?

I would not. Human cleverness and brass can be most impressive. But audacity must be of the right sort and I don't see much bent toward it as would be relevant to this discussion; at least, not for the cause of liberty. In fact, I see precious little of it. I appreciate the effort of the likes of Patriot Carrots handing out 2A information in a New Hampshire airport, rifle slung over his shoulder. Unfortunately, this will not suffice. Sadly, nothing of the sort is occurring. This does not mean it will never happen, but I cannot get too excited about potential in the world of a species that wastes it as copiously as do humans. It is appalling - from the mere refusal to use the brains gifted to one, to the wanton destruction of the potential represented in an unborn fetus. And we do it with apparent glee. Go figger. Might I also point out that there is a differentiating factor now present that did not exist in ages past: the current level of technology. It may now be (or not) that such small groups are no longer capable of subverting the orthodoxy... not unless they occupied lofty seats of power. The advancing technology wavefront is quickly closing all loophole opportunities for the little people. I will not say miracles are impossible, but I will say without equivocation that the likelihoods that something miraculous will happen are dropping by the minute. Other than engaging in open slaughter of Themme and their children, the only real weapon we seem to have at this point is mass disobedience. Well alrighty then, but wait... where are all the disobedients? And there you have it.

Google Decides You Can't Think for Yourself so Pledges to do your Thinking for You Eric Schmidt, the Executive Chairman of Google’s parent company Alphabet, says the company will “engineer” specific algorithms for RT and Sputnik to make their articles less prominent on the search engine’s news delivery services. “We are working on detecting and de-ranking those kinds of sites – it’s basically RT and Sputnik,” ... “we are trying to engineer the systems to prevent that .”... Schmidt claimed that he was “very strongly not in favor of censorship,” but said that he has faith in “ranking” without acknowledging if the system might serve the same function. ... DC lawyer accuses Conyers of serial harassment: WaPo reported: A high-profile Washington lawyer specializing in congressional ethics said Wednesday that Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) harassed and verbally abused her when she worked for him on Capitol Hill in the 1990s and that her repeated appeals for help to congressional leadership were ignored. “There was nothing I could do to stop it,” Melanie Sloan said in an interview. “Not going to leadership, not going to my boss, not going to a women’s group, not going to a reporter. I was dismissed and told I must be mentally unstable. ... Sloan said that Conyers routinely yelled at and berated her, often criticizing her appearance. On one occasion, she said, he summoned her to his Rayburn Building office, where she found him in his underwear. ...

Also interestingly Fusion GPS founder Glen Simpson met with the "Russian Operative" Natalia Veselnitskaya both before, and after the infamous Trump tower meeting with Trump's son. Agreed. I wrote "GOP", meaning the party, in case that was not clear. That is my point. Could all this Trumpery be just more theater? Could be. But what if it is not? Then Trump is what he appears and Theye are certainly doing everything in their power to put the kybosh on him. At this point things are so jumbled, I have little confidence in any fork I might take regarding my ability in assessing how genuine Trump may be. I would like to think he is what he appears, but history demonstrates just what foolery that can be, especially in the last 75 years or so. Regarding Trump, I would warn people against being too purist. He is a man and nothing more. He will be imperfect, same as would a Ron Paul presidency have been. If you want perfection, sit idly and wait for Jesus to pop out from behind a cloud. You may be waiting awhile. My point is that we should be glad to see even small movements in a better direction than those in which we have been taken since at least 1900. So what if Trump is more of the same shit in some respects? Would you prefer he were shit like Obama? Bushes? Clintons? Let us meter our expectations per the yardstick of positive reality and not our normative wish lists. Theye have gotten here over the course of at least 150 years of scheming and chipping away at the foundations of what stood to make this a great and unique land. Now we stand at the brink of becoming just another open-air prison. Had the good Dr. Paul ascended the throne in place of the Donald, he would have at best gotten but marginally farther than Trump, most likely not nearly as far. Ron seems a real boyscout and Congress would wish him and his all dead because of it. Trump is a brawler and Theye want even him out. That's the truth of that in which we are ensnared. The best we can hope for is the likewise chipping our way back from the edge of the abyss. I don't like Trump, but neither do I hate him. He is a damned site better than Hillary would have been. By now, you would have been surrendering your small children to the Department of Pedophilia for indoctrination and "breaking in". It appears to be the case, and to that I provisionally say "good!" The alternatives were all complete shyte, save Rand, and he'd have been in the same boat as Trump, only worse because I don't think he has the outward menace that the Donald possesses. I believe that menace is one of the few things that will get a body as corrupt as Congress to do even the least right by the people they purport to represent.

What he wrote. Thrice. Good grief, now the überfags are whining, moaning, and shrieking about their precious special "pronouns". I hope for everyone's sake on of those never gets in my face with the loud noises and demands because they stand to end up in the ICU and me possibly in jail. Their stridence is really almost something at which to marvel. The utter lack of any personal grace is quite singular, not to mention the pinpoint tunnel-vision where all they can see is their own slagging, lagging, less-than selves. Part of me wishes someone could freeze-dry me today so that in 100 years (being optimistic there) I could be reconstituted just so I could see how the descendants of the great faerie-hordes have fared... IF they fared at all.

Well there's the reason. Minnesota is one of the lousiest, most painfully miserable states in the union. It easily rivals MA, CA, NY, and NJ for sheer tyranny and incalculably vicious stupidity. It's a different era, I can tell you that. The shit I used to say on air would probably get me a visit by a SWAT team today, judging by this. Hell, I used to open my slot with "Fuck You" by DOA. Station manager used to have lots of heartburn over it, but he let me go ahead... 1A and all that. :) I got bounced out of a VOLUNTEER station here in Charleston, WTSQ, in 2015 because I made a reference to how messed up a drummer was, physically. The guy was pure wreckage - couldn't walk, hold drum sticks, and so forth. Yet he was magically musical on the kit. Station manager took an over-reactive shit and a week later I was out. The board was concerned I might offend someone. They were such unterfags, stating with much drama-queenery how the station had "dodged a bullet". What assholes. That's the way it is these days.

They closed the thread before I was able to respond to you, so I just wanted to say, I agree with all of your concerns about Rand Paul. I still think he's better than the other options, but he isn't my ideal. I'm most likely going to vote for him, but I don't blame people who won't. And if I was still going to live in NYS in 2016 (I'm moving to Virginia for college, which as we know is a swingy state) I would be less likely to vote for him. Even still, if the LP candidate is too good to pass up (Someone more like Harry Browne than Gary Johnson... the latter of which was more of a lesser of five evils) I would consider voting for them.
