Biden is very myopic. The pardon may protect him and his boy from prosecution. Note "may". This blanket immunity thing sits in uncharted legal waters. Being the sort that I am, were I the AG and I had the evidence, I would arrest and charge them both and let the chips fall where they might. Biden is perhaps gambling that nobody would have the nerve to do so. Fine. He remains at risk of being exposed to the world. There is a rather large loose end flapping in the wind: Zelensky and his merry band of Ukrainian bandits, at least some of whom know the truth. It may prove that Biden doesn't give a cow about his "legacy", though I can't quite imagine it being so when we look back at his fifty years of grift and his huge braggart's mouth. Regardless, I'm confident that he'd probably very much prefer the truth not come to light, especially about his whelp. All Trump need do is tell Zelensky that if he doesn't spill everything in gory detail, he will give Putin a free hand with all of Ukraine and that the EU will have no hand in aiding him. I doubt that Zelensky would offer the least resistance, especially given that he has no presidential pardon in his back pocket. Given this threat that stands, what would Biden do between now and 1/20, have Zelensky offed? Nothing would surprise me, but this could be a step too far even for Joe. At least insofar as being exposed to the world as fir the vile that he is, Biden is far from being covered.

In addition to the whole awfulness, PP has always denied profiting from this and if that were true, then why this: “PPSD shall retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Material, including but not limited to all right, title, and interest in patents and patent applications and other intellectual property rights relating to the Material”

And Pam Bondi it is. Just announced on CNN. She's entirely qualified so I don't see anything holding that up.

Me too. While nominating Gaetz was some epic trolling, Fitten would have DC really worried.

From what I read about Gaetz and the 17 year old, she and the other hookers advertised on some sugar daddy website and she presented herself as of legal age. Once Gaetz found out her age, he stopped engaging with her. Maybe that's why she testified against him. Those ladies were paid big money to do what they wanted to do and for the feds to classify this as sex trafficking of a minor is the usual hyperbolic bullshit. Nevertheless, hiring hookers is seedy and he should have warned Trump that it was likely to blow up. Same for Hegseth and the thing he was involved in (which looks much worse, to me). I'm just disgusted that the Trump team didn't vet better. Oh, and how about Tom Fitten for AG?

This. I don't want to cannibalize from our own good lineup. It's hard enough getting them in there in the first place. Anti Globalist mentioned Paxton and I would think there might be other states with good AGs who have the experience. Certainly there are an endless supply of lawyers out there to choose from.

Can he rescind his resignation from congress? We need him there. Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) formally withdrew his name for consideration for the Attorney General position in President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration, asserting Thursday there is “no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle.” “I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday,” Gaetz said in post in X. “I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many.” Gaez went on to say his nomination has become too much of a distraction, and therefore, he is withdrawing his name from consideration for the highly sought position. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/11/21/matt-gaetz-withdraws-name-from-consideration-for-attorney-general-nomination/

It was her thinking she may have been drugged that rang true to me. Plus the hotel guy saying he was yelling out at the pool and saying he had free speech when confronted about it. And the other woman who said he was hitting on her. Whatever happened, I'm mostly pissed at the lack of vetting by the Trump campaign and now Gaetz has dropped out. I hope he can rescind his resignation because he's a great congressman and we need him. Clusterfucks are not what we need.

I'm inclined to believe her version and I cannot believe he wasn't better vetted. Tim Parlatore, Hegseth’s attorney, vehemently denied the assault when it was first reported last week that a detailed memo of the claim had been sent to the Trump team. Parlatore said the sex was consensual, and that Hegseth later paid his accuser as part of a nondisclosure agreement in order to protect his reputation. Hegseth was never charged with a crime. In a new statement to Mediaite in light of the full police report, Parlatore said: “This police report confirms what I have said all along that the incident was fully investigated and police found the allegations to be false, which is why no charges were filed.” https://www.mediaite.com/politics/new-full-police-report-details-pete-hegseth-sexual-assault-allegation/ Report:

Argh, this site is slow and it's hard to even get on. Yeah, that's scorched earth, alright, and she needs to be careful! I'm pretty convinced DC is essentially and organized crime operation and there are some dangerous players in that swamp. I'd sure like to know who the other assets are she referred to.

I dunno if Gaetz can get confirmed. This is causing quite the shitstorm. If it's done through a recess appointment, it will cause even more uproar.

Wow. Can the voter choose the same candidate over and over (choices A, B & C); e.g., Ron Paul first choice, Ron Paul second choice, Ron Paul third choice? Hypothetically, if everyone chose the same candidate for last choice, that person could win, right?

His tats are a Crusaders Cross, a sword, some Hebrew words about Jesus and some shield. Not that I want another Israel lover around but it's only commies who frame that as "white supremacy" and Nazi. Christian nationalist? Maybe but someone could be black and support that.

Never understood how it works (I think there may be a couple of types?) but I've been wondering why in the hell Alaska still hasn't called it's congressional race, yet. I did a search on and couldn't find anything on the current election (which R Nick Begich is winning) but found this from 2022. This is crazy: During the first round, only voters’ No. 1 preference on each ballot is counted. For a candidate to win during Round 1, they must win 50% of the votes. With 47.1% of the vote, Peltola is just short of the 50% required to win. According to The Hill, early votes submitted between the Friday before the election and Election Day must be given a full week to get counted after the election. Also, absentee votes start getting counted a week after the election, and are given 15 days to get counted. Alaska has until Nov. 23 to finish counting votes. Once all the votes are counted, if Peltola has not reached 50%, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated. If you voted for the eliminated candidate, your vote goes to your second-choice candidate. https://www.deseret.com/2022/11/16/23461460/why-alaskas-house-race-not-called/

He also has a big Crusader's cross on his chest. Fancies himself a warrior for Christ? With him, Huckabee and Rubio, I don't think it's looking good for the Palestinians.

They closed the thread before I was able to respond to you, so I just wanted to say, I agree with all of your concerns about Rand Paul. I still think he's better than the other options, but he isn't my ideal. I'm most likely going to vote for him, but I don't blame people who won't. And if I was still going to live in NYS in 2016 (I'm moving to Virginia for college, which as we know is a swingy state) I would be less likely to vote for him. Even still, if the LP candidate is too good to pass up (Someone more like Harry Browne than Gary Johnson... the latter of which was more of a lesser of five evils) I would consider voting for them.
