This is just Statist BS in favor of theft, and more government power. Taxation is theft. No. More theft by government, more dependence on political elites, and more government control is not the answer. The answer is more freedom. "I would end the income tax, and replace it with nothing." - Dr. Ron Paul. "About 45 percent of all federal revenue comes from the personal income tax. That means that about 55 percent — over half of all revenue — comes from other sources, like excise taxes, fees, and corporate taxes. ... We could eliminate the income tax, replace it with nothing, and still fund the same level of big government we had in the late 1990s. We don’t need to ‘replace’ the income tax at all." - Dr. Ron Paul. You want to really see an economy take off? See wealth, and innovation, and standard of living explode? End the income tax. That gives everyone, as well as business and corporations an up to 50% increase in take home income. People can choose to work less if they want. People have more disposable income. They can spend more on themselves and children. They can focus on innovation, ideas, inventions, art and more. All that of course means more business for all sorts of businesses. It also means much larger profit margins for businesses. That allows competition to drive the prices down while still allowing more income for business. So not only does everyone have more income. Their money goes much farther buying more for less.

The Cpud has a habit of perpetually stuffing threads with posts from platforms that are lock step or PR mouthpieces for deep state, or far leftist or statist ideologues like Media Matters (another Soros funded enterprise). Of course to Media Matters and the Cpud, asking questions, presenting evidence or wanting investigation of issues of Seth's assassination must be a "right wing conspiracy." Hence the MM matters headline. It is the trite formula: list a couple pundits they apply "right wing"" label to, ignore all the rest, deny the evidence, and then proclaim another "right wing conspiracy." To Media Matters everything must be politicized into the left-right false dichotomy, and to Media Matters virtually everything that is not lock step with or might be potentially unfavorable to the DNC is a "right wing conspiracy."

That is the practical aspect of it. There is also a conceptual aspect based in analytic reason applied in examination of the nature of the relationship of one man to another. That is how I came to cobble the Canon of Proper Human Relations. Basically, no man is endowed with authority over another. Likewise, no man is inherently subservient to another. There is no basis one could offer in defense of inherent master/slave relations that I, or any reasonably well trained sixth-grader, could not summarily demolish in while sleeping. I do not think I can agree with this bit. I think they are very natural. What to me is unnatural is the notion that humans are the only ones who hold them. Given the definition of "right", it is clear that all living beings have them. That human instrumentality leaves men in a position of vast material superiority over all other terrestrial beings, it does not follow that only humans have rights. It simply means that men hold the ability to impose their wills upon the rest, and even each other, through our various means. Not sure they are the result of imagination, but rather that imagination allows us to discover and make sense of them.

Actually, there is a lot of evidence indicating Seth Rich was the leaker. What you are referring to is not merely evidence, but rather conclusive direct evidence. Why we may not yet have release of conclusive direct evidence, you certainly have a plethora of evidence that Seth Rich was the DNC leaker, some of it very strong. In fact a great many cases are resolved by a compilation of multiple pieces of indirect evidence without any direct evidence at all. But to say there is no evidence is incorrect. Evidence 1: Aside from Kimdotcom’s communications with “panda” and the social media from Seth Rich confirming “Panda” was his handle (which itself is evidence indicating Seth was the leaker), there’s a lot of other evidence. For instance: Evidence 2: You have the direct video recorded statement of Julian Assange identifying Seth Rich as the leaker in all but his name stating, “Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks. As a 27 year-old, works for the DNC, was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington.”

Martin Shkreli added another $100,000 in reward money for solving the murder of Seth Rich: "American businessman and investor Martin Shkreli is putting up $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich. Shkreli, former chief executive officer of Turing Pharmaceuticals and KaloBios Pharmaceuticals Inc., made the announcement via his Facebook page Friday. ..." This brings the reward contributions to at least $225,000 Wikileaks $20,000 Jack Burkman $105,000

At least 26 Coptic Christians on pilgrimage were slaughtered by terrorists in Egypt today. Terrorists surrounded the bus with trucks before opening fire on the unarmed Coptic Christians on pilgrimage to the Anba Samuel Monastery near the city of Minya. This comes after multiple attacks on Christian Churches in Egypt this past Palm Sunday left 44 dead.

Seems a mite self-serving, would you not say? "Let them eat cake..." While men have, and continue to do much that is praiseworthy, far more often they do that which ranges from "meh", to that which is downright evil and disgusting. For such reasons I have come to a more tempered view on the tendency of man. On average, he is nothing to praise, therefore indicating that such lauding should be reserved for the individual found guilty of having done something worthy thereof. The typical example of the species merits far more clinical treatment, as does the typical act of even the best among us. Observation of huge numbers of examples of both men and their actions most definitely does not include general praise of any sort Here "men" refers almost universally to people of Empire, whose plague-like mindset infects virtually all examples. The notion that only men have rights is idiotic on its face. All life claims itself as First-Property. To live is to steal away the First-Property from others - this is God's inescapable way. So be it. But men seem too often to indulge in gratuitous theft beyond that which is required for their own lives, and yet we praise ourselves. How amusing. Were the deer and chickens and cockroaches, etc., able and of a mind to make a coordinated stand against us, we would soon see just how "special" we really were in the relevant sense. It is the superiority of our instrumentality that separates us in some very narrow sense from the non-human rest, and oftentimes from each other as well. I see no basis for praise of the race of man simply because they are men, nor because they possess the raw capabilities unique to them. It is a lousy and most often blood-soaked lie that whispers to us how "special" we are.

Deep Six the Deep State: You won’t read about this in what passes for the “mainstream” media, but newly declassified documents reveal that the Obama administration was violating its own rules and spying on Americans with such frequency that even the normally compliant FISA court scolded them: “The National Security Agency under former President Barack Obama routinely violated American privacy protections while scouring through overseas intercepts and failed to disclose the extent of the problems until the final days before Donald Trump was elected president last fall, according to once top-secret documents that chronicle some of the most serious constitutional abuses to date by the U.S. intelligence community.” ... Was this covered by the New York Times, … or the Washington Post, … Of course not. I count less than half a dozen stories about this, all of them in conservative outlets like Fox News and Breitbart, The media isn’t interested …

I guess both your premise and Trump's premise is that the NATO alliance protects European nations from something. Post WWII, that was mostly true, for a while at least. Not post Soviet Union though. The main deception here is calling your/our militaries 'defense', when they have been almost exclusively an offensive tool. Here's an interesting perspective y'all might not have heard before (10min) I'm not saying Friedman's analysis is right or wrong or complete, but at least it presents a geostrategic argument that's historically plausible and reflects the kind of thinking strategists employ. (he's from Stratfor) So does Europe need the US to defend against Russia - a country with the GDP of the Netherlands? Of course not. But dismantling NATO would A) be ending a government program (which is always hard to do) and B) Call into question other 'protective' US foreign military installations such as in S. Korea, and that might lead to people questioning the need for the quasi-empire itself. e.g. "Why does our military have an African Command in the first place?"

Jacob Hornberger has a nice commentary at the Ron Paul Institute: DEA officials lied to Congress about an episode in Honduras in which DEA agents killed innocent people. … the DEA killings of those innocent people raise an important question: Under what constitutional authority does the DEA or any other U.S. official wage the drug war in Honduras or any other foreign country? … In fact, I don’t see anything in the Constitution that empowers them to enact drug laws here at home? Do you? … Why aren’t those DEA officials who lied to Congress being criminally prosecuted for lying to Congress? …

Inspector General Report: DEA Officials Repeatedly Lied to Congress to Cover up DEA Murder of Four Unarmed Civilians in Honduras From The Intercept: THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION repeatedly lied to Congress about fatal shooting incidents in Honduras, including the killing of four civilians during a DEA-led operation, according to a devastating 424-page report released today by the inspectors general for the State and Justice departments… the DEA withheld information from the U.S. ambassador in Honduras, passed incorrect information up the chain of command, repeatedly misrepresented the U.S. role as an adviser in what was actually a U.S.-led operation, recruited an informant to back up the DEA’s version of events and then stuck by the informant’s story despite its “inconsistent and contradictory accounts.” … the DEA falsely characterized the deaths of four Hondurans as a shootout with drug traffickers despite proof on video that DEA-led forces fired on unarmed civilians. … “The victims of this crime still await justice,” …

They closed the thread before I was able to respond to you, so I just wanted to say, I agree with all of your concerns about Rand Paul. I still think he's better than the other options, but he isn't my ideal. I'm most likely going to vote for him, but I don't blame people who won't. And if I was still going to live in NYS in 2016 (I'm moving to Virginia for college, which as we know is a swingy state) I would be less likely to vote for him. Even still, if the LP candidate is too good to pass up (Someone more like Harry Browne than Gary Johnson... the latter of which was more of a lesser of five evils) I would consider voting for them.
