Ripple is an interesting Financial services company that shows even the old bank monopolies on moving money can be impacted by crypto.

An interesting way for Trump to make a step beyond trying to convince the country elections are entirely frauds. He's been on this kick since day 1 until Pence gave up months later trying to prove Trump won the popular vote. The current aggressive attack on absentee ballots is only gaining more followers. I simply considered this to be a case of Trump's typical narcissism initially, and lately as an excuse if he loses. But with this thought of states handing the electorate votes it gives an end game for convincing the nation that voting this time around simply is a sham. As someone who saw how Dr Paul was treated with the electoral votes and the absolute horrible methods that stood up in courts in a few states so Paul couldn't have the delegates he won this isn't entirely far fetched.

I actually hope people continue to be allowed to wear masks and eye covering as much as possible long after coronavirus is not an issue. I'm pretty sure I couldn't have gotten away with wearing a mask everywhere, even in a bank, last year. It will hinder the constant surveillance state. At least I assume people here don't claim that big brother surveillance is a hoax also.

Trump's recent promoting of Stella Immanuel makes me think step 8 will include alien DNA... although I wouldn't rule out sex with demons entirely.

How long before this is used for political purposes? Baseball is back. But the MLB will look a little different in the COVID-19 world, with empty stadiums full of silent cardboard cutouts instead of thousands of screaming fans in an effort to avoid spreading the virus. That is unless you’re watching on Fox Sports. Starting this weekend, the network will not only be piping in fake fan audio, but it’ll also be filling the stands with digitally rendered fans for its MLB broadcasts, starting with this Saturday’s Yankees-Nationals game.

Bezos has figured out the game and is winning. His vision of selling books to selling everything ended up being prescient. Gates got tired of the game and is giving away his money to improve the world as he sees fit. While I don't fault any self made person for their successes, it does bring about many ethical questions on how the first potential self made trillionaire should handle his finances. He can buy and sell countries, a single statement could change world markets. Will the world at large want someone that powerful? Will the US? Look at how so many cities were jumping through hoops to be considered for Amazon's HQ2. We've all seen the various political pull the various billionaries can have. However even the Koch brothers will be trivial in comparison to Bezos within a decade. So far he has been at the periphery of things yet buying the Post, renovating his mansion in DC, shows he is working on being a bigger political player. Will he be an outright player or more behind the scenes like a Koch, or the Rockerfeller clan, or all the other 'old money'?

wasn't this not a convention but a celebration? Wasn't the plan that the actual convention went ahead as originally planned, without fanfare, without even a change of the party platform from 4 years ago?

Yes. If something forks you now have two wallets, the same amount of coins on each fork. However after the block that forked then things are unique in each blockchain. It is not double spending as you are on different blockchains. This also happened with the fork of Ethereum and Ethereum classic over the handling of the DAO

Time to increase support for Bitcoin and other crypto. Financial institutes + Retail make far too much off of gift cards to do away with near anonymous usage. Yes going to less cash is already a stated goal in a few countries, we should prepare by ensuring anonymous methods of digital still exist.

The convention is cancelled, no changes in the political platform. Trump is holding a "celebration" elsewhere to bask in the glory of being nominated again. The GOP is actually stating this year "“The survival of the internet as we know it is at risk,” the platform reads. “Its gravest peril originates in the White House, the current occupant of which has launched a campaign, both at home and internationally, to subjugate it to agents of government.”" and all the other attacks against the President when it was Obama. Remember when party platforms were a thing?

The private wall is falling apart already, which could imply his entire rush to build wall and ignore many studies typically done on large construction would lead to the same. It's all about perception for our narcissist in chief. If it isn't new and shiny and can be spun to be the best it is against him.

according to multiple MAGA posts I've seen it's because he's been constantly fighting off the deep state and illegal coup attempts to get anything done. Although that eplanation would imply Trump can't delegate something to a cabinet secretary or other top official, it can't be that this tweet is blatant political pandering.

Rulings like these show the problem of any employer based health care. Regardless of if you agree or not it shows that employees are very limited on any health care control, they can take what is offered and that's about it. Not that non employer health insurance is usually an affordable option.

From a broad picture that seems to be a common sense ruling, a private religious school can hire and fire based on their principals. Thinking cynically, Facebook could try to figure out how to be religious so posts they ban are against their religion, not subject to section 230.

I've been saying for awhile that a Kardashian will run as we've shown a realty star can become President. Although this is not a serious attempt as he is late to the game.

I like knowing that wearing a face mask, glasses, and a hat totally messes with facial recognition. This is the typical look for contractors at home depot nowadays and I'm all for this being a continuing option. When it becomes illegal to wear a medical face mask we know big brother is getting serious.

If it's arranged, then the 'voting by mail is rigged' is also in place. That is trump's well.. trump card.. to be played when he loses the election.

I have yet to see an anti-mask protestor also fight other standard store rules and take off their shirt and their shoes and demand service.
