I have never heard a definition of MAGA. When did american stop being great, or what would constitute it being great again? The entire 'again' should mean there was a specific point in time you could point to and say everything before this was great, everything after was not. With Ron he gave a checklist of issues to fix to restore America. Gold standard, audit the fed, stop imperialism, reduce the deficit, etc. I'm still waiting for someone to start doing those things.

We have went from media that simply repeated everything the Bush admin said to media running a presidency. Trump's latest wall stance appears to be because Fox and Friends were disappointed in him. So now we have the media telling a president what to do. And it's Fox.. who we can not forget was the enemy of Ron Paul's election efforts.

They? You mean the various digital companies, lead by the movie industry which has been working on improving special effects since movies got created? Or perhaps you mean the video game companies which nowadays also use many of the same tools as the movie industry? The various digital trade rags go into detail on using programs for all sorts of purposes. The ever increasing computer power makes tasks easier and easier. Movies and video games each do over 40 billion a year. They both want photo realistic special effects. Sorry, no nefarious 'they' here. This is the free market making very good tools for large industries.

Of course they want a cashless society, you'd get rid of the entire underground economy. I mean while a good citizen would never consider not reporting every payment of cash, I'm sure there are unscrupulous citizens who try to screw the government out of taxes. It amazes me that simply depositing a few hundred dollars into a business account in cash will require a driver's license scan now at a Chase, and this doesn't even raise an eyebrow. This doesn't seem to happen all the time but has happened enough that seems it's a regular policy. Most tellers don't even understand when I start talking about big brother. Bitcoin has survived over 10 years and while not widespread it shows there is a demand for a non bank method of value transmission. Other crypto spin offs are working on making as anonymous as possible crypto... the fact that they haven't all been shut down gives me a tiny bit of hope that everything won't be tracked.

On the next Apprentice : White House edition, a surprise announcement keeps everyone on their toes. We have had a number of disappointing big announcements. The bottom of the pile would be when candidate Trump dismissed his years of birther research in a hasty press conference. My guess : He's going to give his state of the union at a political rally location of his choosing

Universal access fees already on telephones. This is how the government has given the mandated monopolies to regional telephone companies because those are the ones who get the fees. Universal access fees on electric and gas. Again we have mandated monopolies for power and gas companies in most of the country

Glad to see Amash was against it. "This is bad policy. It makes shutdowns more likely to happen and more likely to last longer," Amash said on Twitter. In the past, government shutdowns have given federal workers back pay as a part of the larger spending bill. In this case, the bill is being passed as a stand-alone measure while legislators still spar of funding for a border wall. Amash said he voted for back pay after previous shutdowns because those bills were limited to those specific shutdowns. "If people will automatically be paid after any future shutdown, as this bill requires, then why send them home and why not pay them on time? This bill was not properly vetted," he said. https://www.wzzm13.com/article/news/politics/national-politics/why-justin-amash-voted-against-a-bill-guaranteeing-back-pay-for-federal-workers/69-437066ea-a820-4fc6-a4f2-6b47267c48dc

Glad he wants to help stop wasteful imperialism, even if he has used the War Powers act a few times in Syria in the past.

I'm actually surprised this hasn't gotten more of a following in the conspiracy threads on the forum. Or if it has I have totally missed it. We just had new threads on JFK. Past discussions cover just about everything questionable over the past century... 911 has so many threads, odd stock market trades before 911, WTC building 7, the anthrax mailing, you name anything that could have a conspiracy with it and it will be discussed here. Some fascinating info is shared this way, not the typical tin foil hat wearing type. I learned about the USS Liberty from those discussions, like I said informative. So why do we just throw out Russian influence? I'm pretty sure more actual discussion on pizzagate has happened than if Trump actually had russian influence. Instead most comments about findings of collusion end up either defending Trump outright, blanket attacking of Trump, or attacking government incompetence so the issue doesn't matter. We should even drop the 'collusion' part to avoid the entire legal discussion. How do we have a discussion about Trump and possible Russian ties worthy of discussion without devolving into partisan politics? We all have access to many primary sources - twitter, interviews, public plea agreements from many close Trump supporters.

I don't mine Eth classic but it is still the #18 crypto in marketcap according to coinmarketcap, around 400 million value. The attack gained $271,500 according to one report Someone made a handy website to show the theoretical cost of a 1 hour attack on a coin. This is provided you could rent enough equipment to do it, or had the spare capacity sitting around. Not as easy or as cheap as the website shows. https://www.crypto51.app/

Before we had lobbyists hiding behind congress and the executive telling them how to word laws. Cut out the middle man, put lobbyists directly in charge. Sure we had this happen before, like W put a Verizon lawyer in charge of the FCC, but who cared about one or two lobbyists here and there? At least with W you could think it was plain old nepotism putting Powell's son in charge of the FCC. Now Trump is doing things better than Obama ever did, having more lobbyists than O did. #winning We did want more transparency in government... we should have clarified what we meant!

Plenty enough brain cells, is this a contest? Do we show IQ scores or just see who can call people the most names on the forums? So in the show it starts with a direwolf coming from the north, Night watch member Will came back through the wall and got near winterfell before getting caught, then Osha and the wildlings with her, Jon climbed the wall, wildlings go around it on the west and by taking boats in the east "Along the east coast the raiders most often built boats to slip across the Bay of Seals." . "The Wall can stop an army, but not a man alone" so a fancy border wall would stop any new caravans easily enough, but anyone determined would get through. The real problem in GOT is there aren't enough Night's watch to patrol the wall so things get through. Similarly, the latest Trump budget request is to hire 200 more ICE agents. That's not going to cover much real estate. As to dragons, that's to stop the magic in the wall against the white walkers. Obviously not a concern with Trump's wall.

Still no details on how they will afford to bring back IRS employees to do the actual work. I think the bigger problem is why are so many people overpaying their taxes by 3K a year? It would seem like any reasonable tax system would allow someone to figure out exactly what they owe. Oh wait, there's the answer right there.

There have been a few posts about eminent domain. Although as you've seen Trump has caused a schism in these forums so it won't cause as much of a concern as it should. The usage of HBO's Game of Thrones imagery for a poster on the cabinet table was also rather unsettling. His team obviously doesn't watch the show, and we know Trump doesn't read, the 700 foot wall in the show didn't stop people from getting through. In fact people climbed it, went around it, and even destroyed it. But it's a show that includes a lot of incest and as Trump has said if Ivanka wasn't his daughter he'd date her...

The ID for transferring money just makes it a simple problem to overcome. There are so many ways to transfer wealth that do not include western union style places that it would be impossible to stop. Crypto currency and Hawala are just two of many examples. If it was stopping billions in cash flow the number of solutions would grow exponentially.

My father is a licensed master plumber and mechanical contractor, I have helped with it over the years. Both of those in Michigan require 6000 hours of supervised labor under an existing license holder in order to qualify to test for a license yourself. Meanwhile countless unlicensed people do work all over the area, many have made careers being unlicensed. From a side by side comparison there can actually be almost no difference. Licensing is a total scam for these 2 trades. Although at least in plumbing the description of what a non licensed handyman can do is rather large. Even water conditioning can be done non licensed. - Insurance companies, oddly enough, don't require copies of licenses. I asked our agent, he said if they find they cover an unlicensed person after a large claim they may drop them but it rarely ever comes up. Either we have a rather accepting insurance company for liability which I doubt, or it's not a big deal across the industry. - This is for people that actually get insurance. Unless you're working for a commercial place that takes government money (Apartments), government, or for some large residential project like new homes, no one really ever asks about insurance let alone a copy of it. Otherwise any work done falls under the homeowner insurance so non licensed people are even covered there. (Horror stories about this abound, idiot non self licensed falls off a roof and successfully sues the homeowner, etc) - Licenses used to be checked for yellow pages to advertise under a market, supposedly. That doesn't matter anymore. Google and facebook doesn't care.

Our local county has vocational training that allows junior and senior students to spend half the day there working on one of the few dozen career opportunities. These range from EMT, IT, welding, to even culinary. My nephew has been loving the culinary training, has a summer job lined up already working in a kitchen. I saw Mike Rowe comment recently that the Dirty Job marathon on Discover over the holidays was going strong, the CNN show Somebody has to do it had a holiday marathon, and his current facebook show is going strong. 3 shows, all about real work, all being watched. All of this helps him get his message out about the number of jobs available for anyone willing to do actual work. Maybe people are finally waking up that college isn't the only way for people to be successful.

This would seem more than feasible as all the data would be electronic to begin with. No one is marking up paperwork by hand today, everything is digital at some stage. I assume these agencies are running internal searches for the information anyways, plug it into the public web.

Actually that is the most interesting question and is what will cause the biggest impact on our lives. Regardless of the reason behind climate change, everyone from the pentagon to insurance agencies are preparing for changes. We will have people try to spin this to their agenda and in our pre-dominate crony capitalism system many will try to profit hugely from it at the cost to citizens. Most things to do boil down to find a way to stop polluting as much. Very libertarian ideal, none of us want someone else using our personal resources (Clean air, clean water, non polluted ground to grow our food, shared resources like the ocean shouldn't be destroyed, etc). Doing this in a way that doesn't increase government oversight will be hard, we'll have to find the right battles. - Move to an increase in Nuclear power. Another thread shows that Bill Gates invested with some MIT grads for a new reactor design but is trying to put them in China. We have so much waste stored around the country we have energy just waiting to be utilized. We have unwarranted fears about nuclear power, new tech can make it even safer. I have 2 plants within 40 miles of me, one is being decommissioned in the next few years. Good time for a new plant. - The US stopped their own research into fusion and joined ITER. We're over a decade away, at least, with ITER. China and Lockheed Martin is supposedly working on it. If we could crack fusion, clean power would solve a lot of pollution issues. However I'm not sure that any government funded big science ends up helping any more than it hurts. That could be an worthy discussion there, if big science could help, and how to fund it besides tax payer money. - Plan better for handling issues that a warming climate brings. Plan for once a century floods as they turn into once a decade. This should be local and state issues mostly. We are bad as a county for any long term goals, can't hurt to start now.

You are years ahead... and I'm too dim to understand... hrm, alright. I'll let the pompous attitude slide if I'm to be a grasshopper learning from the master. What do you consider sources of valid knowledge? Obviously you don't follow with the peer review scientific method. That removes the IPCC reports, NASA, NOAA, almost all the various scientific organizations in the US and worldwide, the usual multi discipline journals like Nature, Science, let alone all the specialized earth and climate journals. Ok, I shall learn from new founts of wisdom. What is the years ahead enlightened methodology of education on a complex topic like worldwide climate? I went through an engineering school if you're worried about my mental ability for comprehension. If I'm to truly understand how AGW is a myth, I can't simply parrot every climate change is not real website that lists the same things like natural CO2, sun cycles, models from decades ago didn't get everything perfect, fake temp recordings, and all those others. I want to get to the real science that somehow is overlooked by oh 90% of scientists. This supplicant is after the source of apparently hidden knowledge. I'm eager to start my journey, please point me in the right direction.

It's a shame we can't get one of these built in the US. Newer tech makes them far safer than the older designs, and better for the environment than almost anything else. I'm in Michigan and we have waste stored in concrete casks stored on the banks of the great lakes. If we had newer reactors that waste could be used for energy production instead.
