The trolling between Faketoshi and Bitcoin Jesus has been intense. Bitcoin Cash is going to fork and those 2 are trying to get the BCH followers to their cause. However the name of Bitcoin Cash is confusing enough to average Bitcoin users that it's causing a drop in price. Everyone has been talking about this. There are a lot of interesting projects being worked on with Bitcoin and other crypto. However I think the main price of Bitcoin isn't going to really surge until one of the EFT s is finally allowed. Until then it will be more of a steady as she goes price of Bitcoin.

Sure, I'll admit that's amusing, who doesn't like XKCD. However we have had public/private key systems (Which is basically what blockchain is, along with an open time stamped database) protecting web services for a few decades, global banking relies on it, forex relies on it with their trillions a day in transactions. If we can secure the financial markets we can secure some votes.

Put voting on the blockchain. Every legal registered voter would get a unique private key. This private key could confirm how they voted as it is recorded in the blockchain, time stamped so it can never be changed. Easy to get vote totals also. There have been many papers written on this. It's very doable.

What Trump says on fox should only be used on fox, don't be twisting his simple declarative statements around and use them on another network, you know all those fake news places. Although it wasn't so long ago Fox News was Faux News on this forum.

appears there is legal precedent that a white house press pass can't be revoked without due process https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/11/legality-revoking-jim-acostas-press-pass/575479/ "The new steps enunciated in the Sherrill decision to ensure that reporters’ First Amendment rights are not violated include the requirement to give the reporter notice and the right to rebut a formal written decision, which must accompany any revocation. “We further conclude that notice, opportunity to rebut, and a written decision are required because the denial of a pass potentially infringes upon First Amendment guarantees,” the court’s ruling states. “Such impairment of this interest cannot be permitted to occur in the absence of adequate procedural due process.”"

The fact that they limit how many oz you can have, how many plants, and safes required for locking up anything more than 2.5 oz, I don't think this falls under full legalization.

Unlike starr, Mueller's report will be given to the DOJ. The white house may censor away at the report before turning it over to congress, if they even do that. I think Trump's tax forms are going to be the first thing to come out, revealing he's worth far less than the "10 BILLION DOLLARS" he has constantly claimed and will be the biggest hit to his ego. But his supporters will say "Well duh, you never tell the government what you're actually worth" so won't cause that big of an issue.

the thing is the government has been involved from day one, we subsidized, we gave hundreds of billions in tax breaks, for contracts that were never met. According to promises huge numbers of homes in America should have had fiber to their home decades ago. Too much money has been given to make anyone actually investigate these breaches of contract. The government further legislates territories for these monopolies. We have 2 choices 1) allow a 400+ billion of our tax money to be written off, large crony capitalism companies can do as they please to silence any voice or competition they want 2) Force these taxpayer assisted companies to keep packets flowing like the internet has done since the start, don't allow them to pick the winners, force net neutrality. I'd be all for any company to pay back what they owe us and then be allowed to do as they please. Until then it's not a free market at work and we can be controlled easily.

That's good. I view the legislated monopoly system of the telcom providers as a serious threat to our continued freedom to access whatever we as users want. Since we as citizens have paid hundreds of billions in subsidies to the telco companies for their lines net neutrality should be an option that keeps them scared enough to act responsibly.

Interesting, the steps get harder to collect more Q. The first invite friends wasn't bad, get a chunk of Q that may be worth something. However to get in the upper numbers of Q.. over 50K, it becomes a challenge. "This time you will reserve Qs only for new members that your friends invite and verify. For the next 28 days you will secure 3,788 for each such new member, starting with the 41st invitee and ending with the 120th. " How very MLM of them.

Cui bono? Does thousands of migrants showing up at the border around midterm elections get more republicans or democrats voting? Unless it's an obvious democrat boost then I don't buy any dem funding it. Seems like this should definitely get the wall builders to show up.

Paypal did the same basic thing back in the day, they gave $10 to refer a friend, and the friend got $10 also. In this case it doesn't cost them any up front money

I have no idea if this will get legs or not, some past paypal staff is working on a new payment solution. They say it's not crypto, but it will borrow things from crypto. They actually don't give many details at all, wanting people to sign up, refer a friend and get free Q coins for something down the road. Since they don't ask for much info, don't ask for any money, it seems like a simple enough risk. I did the same with ripple years ago and earned thousands from that. Anyways.. I'll pander. Each person can get 10 referrals, so hey friends... sign up. I'll cancel my referral link when my refers are full and someone else can then post one. Here is their wording : Initiative Q is building a new payment network. To get people to adopt it, they’re giving away significant sums of their future currency to early people. They require only name, email, and an invite from an existing user. Here’s my invite link: Use one of the URLs of our RP Forum members below!

It's young tech, it's still a good time to get involved. Bitcoin is 10 years old. The commercial Internet could be said to have started in 1985 when the first .com was registered. Not much in the way of general acceptance by 1995. That's when things just started getting exciting.

I find it morally hard to be outraged about a hate filled twitter-ish company having issues. Yes slippery slope and all but can we find a cause other than white supremacists? For Gab's current problems... finding a new hosting provider shouldn't be a big deal, If they as a tech company have any sort of disaster recovery procedure in place - which they should - then they can find a new home easy enough. There are so many other options than PayPal also.

I'd be worried about legal issues with flypme. They distribute funds every 3 months which means they have a holding account of money which is legally another's. There are various rules and regulations concerning that. Also the no KYC at all means they are avoiding almost every country's rules. Even if the smart contract and exchange is distributed someone actually has control of those funds which means once that ID gets out there they could potentially get in serious trouble and a government can shut down the entire thing. Most governments are finding ways to make it harder to do true anonymous crypto. As we have seen with btc-e, govs can close even some of the bigger exchanges out there.

To be fair south park has a warning at the start that says the show should not be watched, by anyone. I watched the trailer for big mouth and iit appears to be an edgier south park. Although since I overall find Simpsons and South Park amusing, the latest animated show that I watched was Animals on HBO, I'm probably somewhere along the demographic for Big Mouth. I don't have Netflix tho.
