What part of, he dropped out of the race and pretty early on, do you not understand? If you are upset about that, perhaps you should take your temper tantrum to Rand.

More pile on with the gang, I see. Takes a lot of courage to do that. Applause all around. Trump axed the Trans Pacific Partnership on the first day. THAT is winning. A whole ton of regulations have been killed too. Not to mention Gorsuch being nominated and now in the Supreme Court. That's also winning. I am also very hopeful for complete revamps of the current multilateral trade deals, or getting out of those where that is not possible. That would also be winning for our country. Trump has been far from perfect and God knows there has been plenty of threads pointing out where he was wrong. That's good. But, these broad brush threads posting the cutesy pictures are childish and ignorant. Do tell. Who would you have preferred win the Presidency after Rand dropped out and please provide specifics as to how you believe they would have benefited our country and Americans' liberty.

My understanding is that Trump was referring to funding the subsidies for the time being, until the whole thing is replaced. But, you knew that. Never miss an opportunity to mislead people though, Drake, right?

Yes, you are right, Danno. But, it seems others just want to believe the same media that they railed against for lying when Ron was running. Funny how that works, isn't it.

Repeal the income tax? As for doing it without a proposal to cut spending? I haven't heard of anyone proposing spending cuts. All I've heard is "How can we make this revenue neutral?" In other words HOW CAN WE CUT TAXES AND KEEP RAKING IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF TAXES? Nobody I've heard on the news (and with my current car temporarily having XM radio I've been listening to a lot of news lately...depressing), has given a proposal for paying for the tax cut by doing the obvious right thing and cutting spending. The only debate has been between "Will the economic growth alone cover the difference?" and "Can we raise enough taxes elsewhere by doing things like eliminating deductions." Actually, there is good data to show that a value added tax does a better job at fleecing the sheeple raising revenue than does an income tax and even liberals are talking about that now. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Origanalist again. Interesting and telling exchange. Zippy asked for examples of economies backed by gold that "survive today." The only reason Libya didn't survive is because when Ghaddafi went to the gold standard the New World Order murdered him. And Origanalist is right. Slavery was not rampant in Libya until after the murder of Ghaddafi. It's interesting that because of Ghaddafi's murder by our first black president, slave markets were reintroduced in Libya and black Africans living in Libya were ethnically cleansed. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-16051349 Saddam Hussein was going to get of the petrodollar and that's why he became public enemy #1. http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,998512,00.html https://www.thenewamerican.com/economy/markets/item/4630-gadhafi-s-gold-money-plan-would-have-devastated-dollar

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Anti Federalist again. Let's see. Last time I checked, sheriff was an elected position. When is this jackass up for re-election? Are the parents of these 900 students going to actually do something about it, or chalk it up to "living in 'Meriku?"

Was that ever in doubt? Even if United contractually had the right to do what they did, and the legal analysis I've seen suggested that they did not have that right, it was still stupid business. At the end of the day it was horrible customer service. Yes, sometimes some customers can be a real pain in the ass. But in the end your reputation is all you've got.

Let's see who's the silly enough to think he knows who has and has not ever negotiated a deal. Oh yea...that's spudea. Let's see who's not smart enough to realize that Trump might be negotiating away liberty. Oh yeah, spudea. Did you miss where Trump told the dems "I'll fund Obamacare if you fund muh wall?" Oh, but you can trust Trump because you're psychic.

Oh yes. You are so smart. Your ability to twist the English language in ways that it (that is the language) is not supposed to be used is fascinating. Is Egnwish your 3rd or 4th language? Clearly you are not an native speaker so you must have mastered something else first. Chinese perhaps? You had what is known as a dangling pronoun. "It" could have referred to a job or a PhD. So now that we've cleared up your writing deficiencies, what you wrote still doesn't make sense. If there is at least 1 American receiving a PhD then there is a market for American PhDs. Of course there is. Now the question which seems to have escaped your oh so brilliant mind is, are there more American PhDs then there are PhD job openings? If that 1 American PhD gets hired and there are 10 PhD job openings....well you see the problem? No, you probably don't. If Engwish was your first language you might. You're making the assumption that the one American PhD that exists either didn't get hired or is willing and able to work all of the PhD jobs. Maybe English isn't your problem. Maybe it's math and/or logic that you are failing at. Now you're shifting gears to why libertarians aren't politically powerful? That's simple. Freedom isn't popular. People like hearing silly platitude like "Let's fight em over there so we don't have to fight em over here" or "ban all drugs and just build a wall to keep them out" or "The constitution is not a suicide pact so get used to getting groped before you get on an airplane." Banning foreign workers to "save" the job from some American PhD that probably has more job offers than he or she can handle is yet another example of a stupid platitude that the ignorant masses can latch onto. Congratulations! You've master the art of demagogue politics! MAGA!

 Says the guy that injects a discussion about whether a libertarian would buy a good made by a communist into a thread about H1B visas. If there isn't 1 American receiving "it"? What is "it"? An H1B visa? By definition no American can receive "it." And whether there is a market for an American doing the job is irrelevant. The question is are there qualified Americans ready and willing to take the job? If the job specs are for a PhD in quantum physics and all of the American born quantum physics PhDs are not looking for a job, then while there is certainly a "market for an American doing the job", there's not a qualified American in the market to do the job. The "side note" really has no relevance to the thread and was basically a baseless attack on libertarian thinking with no rhyme or reason to it. Writing is fundamental. I suggest you work on yours.

Please visit your local state university, find out how many STEM PhDs are going to Americans, and get back to us once you pull your jaw up off the floor. What is "utterly bizarre" is that you engage in a thread that is specifically about U.S. vs foreign workers and then try to pretend that we aren't talking about U.S. vs. foreign workers. But if you want to engage in silliness, go right ahead. Sorry for actually trying to take you seriously.

Only if they lose their primaries to pro liberty candidates. And for that to happen, Trump needs to be on the side of liberty, or his supporters need to wake the hell up. Sadly I wouldn't bet on either of those two possibilities occurring. Face it. The RINO's won the 3D chess match because we as a movement came to believe that every time liberty principles were violated somebody was playing "3D chess." Yes I know, Rand's good and all that. But many people here, for some odd reason, cannot tell the difference between someone who's been pro liberty his whole life playing a role to get teocon votes and someone who's been a progressive his entire life playing a role in the opposite direction to get teocon votes. Folks here get angry when you point out that in 2000 Trump was openly calling for an assault weapons ban.

Maybe they actually want to...I don't know...higher Americans when they can? You pushed the cynical view that libertarians are so awful that all they care about is the bottom line and have no sense of community, and yet you're perfectly willing to just have all of the jobs go to foreigners instead of just some? Rather self defeating don't you think? Not really. You said: Poll idea: how many libertarians would buy something at twice the cost to support another libertarian in favor of purchasing it cheaper from a communist? I have a feeling the result would be depressing. That poll, in the context of this thread, depends upon H1B visa holders being somehow "less libertarian." Maybe well educated people coming over from India to get a good paying high tech job are more libertarian than native born Americans. Then if you give the job to the Indian you're giving it to the libertarian.

Yeah.....but in this case who would they have to "fight?" GOP congressmen are supposedly being "overwhelmed" by astroturf pro Obamacare demonstrators. So why aren't the tea party types counter demonstrating? I think it's because of a feeling that "we won already" so...why go protest? That and once the tea party received self appointed leaders, people quit doing spontaneous rallies and now everyone is waiting for "orders from headquarters." The same happened to the Ron Paul movement. In 2008, getting a 500 to 1,000 person rally even in a small city like Nashville was as easy as pointing out the call on Meetup.com. Now? Pulling together 20 people anywhere is difficult.
