At first glance the article had my wife and I both shaking our heads as Pectic Acid and Pectin derivatives have been known to work as good ways to absorb lead, with Pectin (normally from apples but also found in most fruits) as a gel given to someone if they have lead poisoning. But then the wife made an important distinction that I did not realize....you can grow this exact compound with the discovery of this moss having the same cellular wall makeups and get more yield per area used than you ever could apple trees, and we're not having to use food anymore. It's pretty interesting.

Honestly, what part of the article are you questioning? I'm not a climatologist, so my explanation will be rudimentary, but here goes.... What the article isn't really touching on when discussing these zones is it's a bit more complex than just them saying, "warm water doesn't hold oxygen as well". Those zones aren't so much "oxygen barren" as they are more inundated with methane, with the oxygen forced out from the release of methane gas pockets in the ocean floor. These pockets are opened up by warmer water to a lesser degree, but the main cause has to do with the way the Gulf Streams move as it's paths are changed by water salt levels due to melting polar ice. And that is where the climate change argument comes in, being that it's based around green house gases raising global temperatures, which increases ice melt, which alters the gulf stream due to high amounts of fresh water diluting slat levels within the oceans, which opens methane pockets along sea floors, which releases that methane. And methane is a green house gas on steroids compared to CO2. Now, this is not to say I subscribe to climate change in it's current form. Meaning, the above process is happening as it's observable. However, in no shape or form do I give credence to the argument of it being a man made phenomenon. My cousin is a Geo-Physicist and can break down how at best man accounts for barely a decimal point over 1% to current green house gases being released when combining nature (he can give talks on volcanoes that loses me fast concerning their chemistry) and man made combined. And he made what I thought a really good point to me about this subject, and I'll paraphrase and sum it up:

I'm posting this article to illustrate our constantly evolution of understanding cancer, both in possible causes and treatments. Granted, if a human lives long enough their body will eventually develop cancer as it's part of the process in how our bodies break down with age as well as different genetic causes in younger people.....it's the "inbetween" possible causes and treatments that is really getting radical in it's understandings. A new study published a few days ago in JAMA Oncology has made some interesting findings related to women and risks to baseline cancers where oral contraceptives were used. Even more so, depending on what generation of birth control pills these women have/are taking the findings vary, as apparently (I didn't know this off hand) older generations of birth control pills had higher doses of estradiol and progestins. But even wilder is they found women with what is considered "Obese body mass" as well as being smokers who used/use these drugs have lower cancer rates than those on the same medication and doses who were not obese and smokers. I just found it interesting..... My advice? Concentrate on getting the correct medical treatment administered to John. After this is done to your (and his, obviously) satisfaction go ahead and go after the pos if you're still so inclined. The medical profession is full of these people, I had my cancer misdiagnosed for months. The important thing right now is to concentrate on beating it.

Come on, Donnay. Like we discussed before, it does suck for the 559 people who experienced those effects but if 559 patients experienced those effects over the past 8 years with patients prescribed the antiviral, then you are talking 559 out of over 3 billion prescriptions. That is extremely rare.

LOL....honestly, freak is probably being generous when speaking to this asshole. But wasn't he a retired MD or something? That and living in a neighborhood with a federal judge and a Senator means he has the financial means to hire a shit kicker lawyer and at least go down fighting. Of course, to be fair as well....due to those same "advantages" it's also safe to assume he is an extreme low risk of having to worry about that conviction coming back to haunt him as well.

The real "punishment" will be a felony conviction for a violent act. That guy better not leave his house ever when he does get out, because that conviction amplifies all sentencing considerations he might face for other charges. Pro tip for everyone reading......NEVER accept any kind of deal for any kind of assault charges. Fight, appeal...whatever you got to do. But don't ever just accept it.

Just as an aside of something that shocked me when I went there was that marijuana isn't the prevalent drug there at all. Those bastards LOVE them some mushroom "tea". There are little vendor shacks all over the place and the beaches where you can order a mushroom drink, with different strains of mushrooms to accommodate your preferred buzz.

I thought the same (well, HOPED the same). But to play Devil's Advocate.... Do we know he wasn't being a smart ass or sarcastic? I remember the cop who told the woman on dash cam footage, "No...we only shoot black people, remember?" being made into a huge deal. Not to say that was a very unprofessional thing to say as well as moronic knowing you are being recorded, but poor taste in humor aside it was obvious he wasn't being serious. And before anyone comes at me.....no, I am not denying that there are many people wearing a badge that actually view the public like described. And no....I am not a cop sucker always trying to justify things for them. But they do more than enough to validate fears and dislike without having to use things out of possible context. That's all.

Thank you for your comments. I was Mark's liason (via email) to what Rand has/d to offer and he's been quite cooperative but Ian has not been, yet going further in the wrong direction. I find no purpose in funding their vacations to radioland when I can save it and spend it my way. I just know that you have been a caller for years and someone I respect in spades, so at this point FTL needs to realize that they can't grow w/o Rand and his candidacy at this moment. Their commentary on liberty issues is always on point until they/Ian don't even shed the slightest high-5 upon Rand. The ancaps might be in the few category, which I'm one of like you, but I hold that this show can't go on being an enemy of Rand at this point. If Ian is only pro-NH when this dilemma is facing the country and thus shitting on any national liberty movement by Rand at his own speed, then I gotta fight back and/or withdraw my support from him. Thx for your attention at this point.

Actually, Mark was written c. 70 AD. This is confirmed by archaeology by many hundreds of copies with few discrepancies. It is a long time for certain, but we have oral tradition and writings by 1st century Christians and others demonstrating the existence of Jesus. (there is no reason that I know to doubt these Christians and Church fathers) As far as demonstrable proof of people/events in the ancient world, very few compare to the synoptic gospels. I gtg for now, but I hope to continue this conversation ASAP. Pleasure chatting with you, brother. ~hugs~

What do you mean by "tampered with"? There are many many dozens of copies of the gospels alone, and the variations among them are so insignificant that literary analysts don't consider them to affect the truth/accuracy of them. I don't mean to come off as hostile, btw. I'm genuinely interested in your POV because it differs from my studies.

In China for 3 weeks.

by ChristianAnarchist on 12-29-2012 at 01:21 AM
I've been in China for about 5 days now. This is perhaps my 18th trip to China mainly to visit with my Chinese wife's family. For several years now we've been making 2 trips per year. This trip we are helping to take care of my father-in-law who is in TongJi Hospital in Wuhan. Since my wife is a doctor, it's interesting to see the differences between how these two cultures practice medicine.

One major difference is here the family is expected to take care of the patient's daily
