That whole thing reads like an exercise in "accuse your opponent of what you are doing." ... "the need to move 'faster than the pace of trust'" ... ... IOW: the need to stop thinking and questioning, and to just fall in line and do as you are told ... And every vicious authoritarian thug in the history of forever "recognize that certain styles and forms of leadership are needed 'not because it is right, but because it is necessary to win" ...

Greenwald just posted this: Emails With Intercept Editors Showing Censorship of My Joe Biden Article https://greenwald.substack.com/p/emails-with-intercept-editors-showing Glenn Greenwald (29 October 2020) Given The Intercept's vehement denials, readers are entitled to see for themselves what the truth is Following are the communications I had over the last week with Intercept editors regarding my article on Joe and Hunter Biden, which they refused to publish absent the removal of all sections critical of the front-running Democratic presidential candidate whom they uniformly and enthusiastically favor. This is the final exchange that precipitated my resignation from The Intercept and First Look Media, though, as I set out in my article of early today, by no means the sole or primary reason for leaving.

He's a lefty, but despite any disagreements I might have with his politics, Glenn Greenwald is one of the few journalists (along with Ben Swann) that I am inclined to trust by default, unless and until I am given a good reason to do otherwise.

All of which is what I meant when I said, "Mining the asteroids is certainly not yet within our capabilities." Trying to interpret the $10,000 quadrillion figure as anything other than "there's a whole honkin' lotta useful stuff out there" is futile at present. Traveling across the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans was once an extremely expensive proposition, but not so much anymore, relatively speaking. Economies of scale, technological advancement and other factors will mitigate the expenses. The point I was getting at was not specifically that we should "bring any of this material back " - that is merely how it was phrased in the quote from the article, It is that the "feel good" justifications for space exploration/colonization that are so often offered by space "boosterism" simply won't cut it by themselves. We have to get something for our trouble that will make it economically "worth it" (and, yes, even humble iron/nickel cores will be some part of that).

I was just about to post this story. jct74 beat me to it. For the time being, he will be self-publishing his own stuff (including the Biden article) at his Substack account. Apparently, they tried to intimidate him with lawyer-speak into not releasing his Biden article elsewhere, even though he is contractually permitted to publish any of his stories elsewhere if the The Intercept doesn't accept them. Here's his public announcement of his resignation:

Yeah I think the angle that's chosen in the headline maybe a bit confusing or misleading. I think it's fair to say that if Tucker is controlling where the documents go as he requests them to be sent out could be construed as being in possession of. In a sense they are his now and he is deciding where they go. It's more a case of having access to. I do think it's fair to say that the documents are missing, if these are originals. Even if there are photocopies, as they are not originals. But overall, the point is I think, that it appears that someone or some group is wiretapping Tucker and or colleagues. It also appears this same person/group has the capability of intercepting an envelope or package at UPS as well, without leaving a trace. More emphasis on that would have probably made it a better piece...

I think this is a highly improbable "edge case" scenario. But it's not impossible - and it's certainly interesting. In any case, if you read the article, you'll probably learn some finer details about the electoral process for POTUS/VPOTUS that you didn't already know ... (I did, anyway ...) WTF- Tucker DID lose them in the sense that he "lost out". That term is used all the time. The important thing is that the docs have been "disappeared"- not the how the word "lose" is interpreted- AND why the hell did he have them shipped? That looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Regarding the statements made at the end of the article (specifically, the ones to which I have added bold emphasis): unless and until we start "tak advantage of the value" (by "bring any of this material back and using it for industry," for example), humanity is never going to establish any kind of enduring presence in space. All the talk about permanent bases on the Moon or manned missions to Mars is just talk. Even if we do those things, it won't last unless and until we start getting more economic value out of it than we put into it. (That's why the Apollo program didn't result in anything lasting - once the political purpose of beating the commies to the Moon had been served, there was no longer any incentive to continue doing it.) Mining the asteroids is certainly not yet within our capabilities. But sooner or later, it (and other such activities) is going to have to be done. Otherwise, the idea of humanity traveling beyond the confines of Earth on anything other than temporary excursions will never be more than a pleasant pipe-dream and the subject of science fiction stories ... That will have consequences here... Those that grow the weed there will know that RISK is the biggest influencer on the price of their product. They will look to move their pot across the border to the states in which pot is still illegal. Our ONLY REAL DEFENSE is to LEGALIZE IT HERE, which will keep their prices DOWN and remove the incentive to sell it here as opposed to Mexico.

+Rep I believe it is more important to support the Right of others to express the opinion that we do NOT agree with rather than only support the voice of those we DO agree with. Only upholding those that agree with the "official narrative" is one of the ways we have gotten to the point we are in today. The other ways include but are not limited to Money, as Money really does talk and bullshit walks. There are 5 companies that control over 90% of the Media. That used to be 6 companies, but Disney bought Fox, so we are reduced to 5. Thing is, that number is effectively ONE, and that ONE singular power controlling 90% of what you see and hear has a disproportionate level of influence on the vulnerable minds of the uninformed. One thing I have always hoped for is a voice out there that teaches people HOW to protect the mind from the influence of all the bullshit that is out there. Sorry, off topic, back to Joe Rogan and Alex Jones....

I'm against government imposing or executing the death sentence. But I'm absolutely NOT against killing those who need killing. A jury of 12 to convict then the sentence carried out by the aggrieved would work.

Right now its clear that statist secular humanism are effectively the law of the land. And ever since the 14th amendment the states are not allowed to do anything different.

Its impossible for any standard of law to be neutral. That's the ultimate issue. And every idea of freedom that you hold dear, even if it is at some point abused or twisted, ultimately originates in Christianity.
