Communism 3.0: The Succession of Capitalism and the China Model https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=246obUxmNW8 {New Discourses | 17 September 2024} The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Episode 148 Karl Marx characterized Communism as “the negation of the negation,” which is a peculiar turn of phrase he borrowed from his theoretical predecessor G.W.F. Hegel. What that means is that propertied societies, whether slave, feudal, or capitalist, negate our innate Communist (“social”) nature, and then Communism in turn negates capitalism as the highest form of development of the productive organizational modes of society. Well, the negation of the negation experiment was run in various parts of the world through the 20th century and failed everywhere, and what we learned is that the negation of the negation is actually either collapse and then control by an oligarchy or, in other cases, Fascism. These two can be synthesized to create a negation of the negation of the negation, so to speak, that takes Communism as the theoretical ideal and “basic spirit” of historical development while utilizing Fascism as its practical mode of production, and that’s exactly what we see in China following the rise of Deng Xiaoping. It’s also exactly what we see in the West under the ESG scoring model for corporate behavior and the United Nations Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals that it services. In this important episode of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay makes the development of “Communism 3.0,” a Corporatist Communism for the 21st century clear. You won’t want to miss it.

IIRC, NYPD (and other police departments, too?) had - and may still have - an upper limit for the IQ for new recruits. That's an upper limit, not a lower limit (though I suppose they might have one of those, too).

Well if you're gonna include debased crap like USD and GBP that bear no resemblance to their former selves, you have to include every peso, since they are all derived from Spanish pieces-of-eight, which predate half of this chart.

The thread you're referring to ("Woke autocannibalism") is specifically about "woke" progressives eating their own. Such "wokeness" is predicated upon viewing absolutely everything through the shallow identitarian lenses of race/ethnicity, sex/gender, physiology, etc. in order to determine the "intersectionalities" involved so that those may then be used to determine the moral worthiness (or lack thereof) of the object or target being "deconstructed" (I don't say "analyzed", because little to no rational analysis is actually involved). The internal "logic" of this, when applied, inevitably leads to a "victimization Olympics" mentality in which the only way to be "virtuous" is to be the "victim" of someone else (and the bigger - i.e., the more "intersectional" - the "victim" one is, the more "virtuous" one is). This creates a dynamic in which your own "allies" - if they are less "intersectional" than you (as they almost always can be found to be, in some way or another) - are as much a source of "victimization" (and thence, your "virtue") as anyone else. Thus, the "woke" are especially prone to "eating each other" in the cause of being "holier than thou". Anyway, none of that is really the same thing as leftists in general going after each other. That happens all the time. Competing factions feature in every ideological grouping of any significant size. (It happens on the right, too - as well as among libertarians, etc.) And although the "holier than thou" dynamic certainly can (and does) sometimes manifest in such conflicts, it usually isn't super-charged with the identitarian "virtue of victimization" fuel additive that "woke" progressivism insists on injecting into everything. I think that's a much better framing of what's going on in this case. It isn't "left vs. left". It's the "establishment" (i.e., the Bushes, Obamas, Pelosis, McConnells, Harrises, Cheneys, et al.) vs. those who refuse to kowtow to it (whether left or right) - and given the rampant militarism of our MIC-driven empire, the "anti-war" stuff is one of the most common fault lines.

Holy crap, the level of MAGA zionist retardation I'm seeing people express in response to this is pretty staggering. They're more worked up about this than they were about their golden boy getting shot at a couple days ago. I have a continent farther to go before I'm anti-Jew, but I'm definitely anti-anyone-who-says-I'm-antisemitic-because-I-don't-believe-exactly-what-Jews-tell-me-to.

This is going to make it increasingly difficult for the Zionists to claim some sort of moral high ground. Well, it won't stop them from claiming the moral high ground (nothing will), but it'll be harder for people of above-imbecile intelligence to believe it.

"Can you not see that he's talking monarchy" (per your rep message) No, he was talking about National Socialism. Hitler was not a monarch at all. He nationalized industry and introduced a sort of fascism to Germany. If you read Hitler, he had no intention of taking the responsibility of a monarch. He was in fact critical of Bismarck, who was closer to a monarch than Hitler. (though he did try to stay in Otto's good graces while he was alive)

Wasn't it you who was looking for a site or a video on what has historically happened after a government disarmed their populations, and you finally found it? I think it was you and I searched, but it seems like RPF's search function isn't working too well lately. Many times, I just do a google search and find it faster, but not today! If it was you, and you come across it, will you please bump it or PM me back? Thanks!

as far as that thread-- this is a HUGE issue for the "evangelicals". i keep coming across it (interwebz and face to face). i'm trying to figure out how to get over the repulsion and craft my response in a positive manner. i'm not there yet, at least interwebz-wise, so i have conceded (as my thread in the vent declares).

What has it to do with politics? Everything. Politicians piss us off, then try to misdirect our anger 'across the aisle' to people who are fundamentally exactly the same, but wear a different party label. The game is age old, but still works.

People are angry, but they are often in denial about it. They know they're angry, but they don't want to admit they're angry
