There is no real right/left- just politicians chanting the right buzzwords to keep their constituents happy. The whole right/left thing is a sham to keep everyone's eye off what's really going on.

Exactly. When the entire Justice system is running the scam of trying to investigate a complete fabrication, then how in the hell can you be guilty of obstruction of them? It's happening to Assange....and Manning as well right now. It's like the old scam when a Police officer tries to detain you for being drunk in public, because you are sitting on your porch drinking, but then you're Blood Alcohol isn't that high so they cite you for disorderly conduct. Total scam.

1st of all, you need to understand that the CONstitution was actually a Hamiltonian coup to install big government & have it run by the elites. And, it has worked beautifully. Most Americans live in worship of the CONstitution because they've been brainwashed in public schools with false history, economics, etc etc etc. The Anti-Federalists were absolutely right & the original amendments were the only thing that finally drew the states in. Most states did not want a big central government telling them what to do. They'd had enough with the Brits. The coup started the demise of the early ideas of natural rights & freedom, with each state having it's own solidarity. The "Civil" War ended the last bit of States Rights. What we have now is a "pretense" of freedom- the average guy doesn't even own his own land. Property taxes determine who the real owner is. And most all fed laws are even unconstitutional- that's how far down the road, the strangulation of any real liberty has gone. All this talk of the evil socialists/communists taking over the country is a joke. The so-called "Land of the Free" disappeared a long time ago. And, the ignorance of the people is the prime thing that keeps us all enslaved.

Yep. You don't have to agree with his assessment. I think he is way off base and I think this is a battle he should just let die. Every POTUS in my lifetime probably has been guilty of some crime or misdemeanor that was impeachable, but there is bigger stuff to tackle.

Holy Crap. American's knew we were in a war with Germany. It was clear and it was a military operation with a stated objective to free Europe from Nazi control. This dumbass is comparing the secrecy of a Wartime military procedure and tactics in a single operation (D-Day) with the Perpetual state of war we have been in for a generation now as a license to lie to the American people forever.

Aligning? Collectivize much. How about Amash just sees this differently and his assessment doesn't "Align" with yours. Or even mine for that matter. I don't agree with him, but I'm getting sick and tired of the baseless ALL OR NOTHING camps springing up. Amash may be completely wrong on this, but that doesn't mean he isn't a friend of liberty. Stick around and watch Swordsmyth flail the False Dichotomy narrative everytime the Trumpster gets questioned. he moron label is apropos and still stands.

What you are is an AI bot. There is no respect, whether for enemy, friend or your idol. There is certainly no concern for your fellow man, because men are clearly not your fellows. There is only a lot of cut and paste, a lot of repetition (until you're called on it, then there's repetition of something else) a baud rate of about a million, and a post rate of a hundred a minute. And a constant repetition of your parameters. Well if Bryan wants to run a testing ground for AI bots that's his business.

Something something history repeats itself? But that would be redundant now wouldnt it? Yay socialism! The real version this time, not that fake phoney polluted version they had last time...

All you do is hunt witches. You're the Spanish fucking Inquisition. You have no idea what they'll use it for. But, as we can all see, you never, ever let a little thing like a lack of ESP (or an abundance if ignorance) keep you from spouting off. Let he who never goes fishing cast the first stone. Oh, wait. Maybe. The House can review tax returns for legislative purposes. The possibility that Trump has been giving favors to favor seekers foreign and domestic who use the services of his hotels is certainly an area where legitimate legislation could occur. The odds of you or I being in a situation where we could sell influence in a way creative enough to warrant new legislation is remote. The reason all this is unprecedented is because every president has voluntarily released his tax returns every year since 1976. Just as Ron Paul did (which is why I made the statement you ignored that this would never have come up in a Paul presidency). The last one who figured he was too good for transparency was Nixon. Until now. And as usual, Swordshyll is mistaken. The House is not looking for anything more than his tax returns and the documents that support them. If you don't believe me, maybe you'll believe Fox. https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/justice-lawyers-fail-to-halt-trump-financial-records-release Even if the House does get them, and even if they are just digging for dirt, and even if they find it, they won't be able to show them to anyone, and won't be able to pass any ex post facto laws to snag him. So if he has good reason to keep these secrets, like he already violated existing laws, it's going to get interesting, because they presumably can't even show the proof to prosecutors. And thank you both for your concern. I and mine had no trouble from the storm. Your humane solicitude is touching.

Since when is the "We got a badass over here" meme "gay"? It's been all over the interwebz for many moons and it's used by all sorts of folks. There are several samples in the various "bestest picture thread evarrr"-s.
  8. The reason I have no use for monarchies is it's complete pot luck what you get. If your generation gets a Victoria, you could be in worse shape (assuming her advisors aren't lying to her about what they're doing), but if you get an Ivan the Terrible you're screwed. I prefer a system that at least holds out hope for nonviolent revolution, whether people are generally smart enough to use it or not.

And I'm pretty sure you meant neither Bismarck nor the kaiser.

    Chancellor von Bismarck
    President von Hindenburg

That help get the rust out of your history? 'Cause those who get rusty on history are liable to re-live the bad parts...

You're right, I should have said the Kaiser, not Bismarck. :/ (My WWI history is rather rusty...I do remember Hitler suffered from mustard gas inhalation during that war and a bunch of other factoids) Yeah, monarchs have been somewhat fascist in certain occasions, but they always had incentive not to destroy their subjects' economy or their own respective societies as presidents and prime ministers or even legislators do. (such elected officials almost always leave office very wealthy and almost never face justice for their misdeeds) Generally speaking, the best to worst scale goes- voluntary association with government>hereditary monarchy>monarchy>classical republicanism>modern constitutionalism>democracy etc.

What has it to do with politics? Everything. Politicians piss us off, then try to misdirect our anger 'across the aisle' to people who are fundamentally exactly the same, but wear a different party label. The game is age old, but still works.

People are angry, but they are often in denial about it. They know they're angry, but they don't want to admit they're angry
