Just finished reading this latest book. If anyone is intimidated by reading academic texts, this is the book for you! It's extremely easy reading and very light. There are only about 130 or so pages of actual content - the rest are citations and an index.
If you've never read a Sowell book, this one is a distillation of many of his previous studies with a few new ones thrown in. Easily debunking nearly every myth of the social justice warriors.
There's a chapter demonstrating how nothing in the world is proportional - and it's idiotic to think that there will ever, or should ever, be proportional representation among groups.
There's a chapter on racial fallacies that tracks the progressive movement from blaming poor performance on genetics to blaming the larger society - as long as they can blame something other than personal decision-making.
A great one on the "Chess Pieces Fallacy" demonstrating how people react to incentives and are not just cogs in the designs of central planners.
