Your words. There is no difference period. Trump tried for legislation to ban semi-autos and failing that attempted to do the next best thing which was gun control by executive order. The difference is that Obama wasn't smart enough of a gun grabber to think of that.

*Sigh* Take a deep breath. This shows why partisan politics, and even personality politics is toxic. Criminal justice reform is an unqualified good thing. We're not talking about "muh roads" or "muh healthcare" or even "muh border wall." We're talking about reducing the harm that government has already caused. That should be encouraged by people of good will, democrats and republicans. That was making its way through congress. I doubt that will happen this year, in large part because the democrats and the media have made the political environment so toxic. Now you might say "Well what about Trump's toxicity?" Well...what about it? I'm expecting that. The man is an ass. But democrats and republicans could have just ignored the man on this one issue, got it done and let him sign it. As for the drug war? I haven't seen Trump attempt to rollback any of the gains recently made in undoing it. Yes Jeff Sessions is a hard core drug warrior. I wish Jeff Sessions wasn't attorney general. Trump seems to feel the same, but can't fire him because it would look like he was doing it out of spite for Jeff recusing himself on the Russia probe. I saw the picture of the Al Awlawki girl. Yes that was tragic. Obama killed her dad and brother with drone strikes. Obama also bombed the "Doctors Without Borders" in Afghanistan. I'm against Trump when he is wrong (which is often) and was against Obama when he was wrong (which is often). When Obama rarely did something right I actually gave him due credit for doing that.

Well I'm not on your list of "mentions." And I don't personally recall calling you any of that. (Which I guess is why you didn't call me out). And I am 100% fine with supporting Trump when he does something that's actually pro liberty or non interventionist like reaching out to North Korea or attempting to roll back the so called affordable care act. And you have not been one of those making excuses for Trump on the 2nd amendment. That said, I don't personally believe that expanding police powers in the so constitution free zone that is our border or building a wall is good for liberty. I understand your reasoning on that, I just disagree with it.

Being non-interventionist != being totally against any military actions ever. Ron Paul supported going after Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Bombing daesh, a terrorist regime with no legitimacy, is no different. And note I'm not a Trump fan. The truth is that Obama was leaving daesh alone and going after Assad. Horrible, horrible strategy if you are actually against Islamic terrorism.

You cannot give Reputation to the same post twice. 1) Chuck Baldwin is awesome and that further solidifies that Ron Paul did the right thing to support him over Bob Barr when he dropped out in 2008. 2) Thank you for posting that. I knew the situation was bad, but I did not know how bad. 3) Prior to being elected, when some of us pointed out that Trump wrote in his 2002 book The America We Deserve that he supported a new assault weapons ban, Trump humpers were all like "He can change his mind." Now, after being elected, Trump stumps for assault weapons bans and Trump humpers are like "Well he's trying to do it by executive order so that makes it better because it can more easily be overturned" even though the truth is Trump is backing BOTH executive action AND legislation to restrict gun rights. I support the Trump tax cuts, reaching out to North Korea, and ending the regime change/confront Russia policy in Syria. That's....that's about it.

I agree. I just wish people would quit acting like Trump is a republican. He's not. He never was. He's a wolf in sheep's clothes. And there is no excuse for what HE is doing on the 2nd amendment front. Yes the republicans in state houses are doing a bang up job protecting gun rights. On the federal level...not so much. At the presidential level....he's working for the other side. And he always has.

OMG! Your mental gymnastics are painfully stupid as usually. Trump at first backed legislation for a new assault weapons ban and then walked it back due to a backlash from the right. And the same republican majority that wouldn't let Obama pass an assault weapons ban won't let Trump. The dems will not get a 2/3rd majority in the senate even if they run the tables, so if Trump was solidly pro second amendment, which he is NOT (he was calling for an assault weapons ban back in 2002), then it wouldn't matter if the dems got both houses because any new gun control could be vetoed. And when Obummer was president we were all solidly against his abuse of executive and administrative orders. Now you're saying that's good because its going to fail in the courts? How many Obummer executive orders were overturned in court? Not many.

    A) Since when is theft a violent crime? Robbery is theft by violence. Which means that regular theft is, by definition, non violent. I wouldn't want to see a police drone gun down a shoplifter for example. and B) From the desk of Ron Paul.

Roy Moore shot himself in the foot when he said things like "I have never dated underage girls without their mother's permission." Yeah...as long as he didn't have sex with them it's technically legal...but still odd. With Dr. Ford the problem isn't just her story, it's that the other women's stories are just bizarre. If the dems had just left it with Dr. Ford they would have gotten more millage out of it. The "I went to rape parties 10 times before I got raped" story is just bizarre. I told that to a friend who is a hardcore democrat and concerned about "rape culture" and even she was taken aback by that story.

Yep. That's because they came forward with three witnesses, one who's story didn't fit what she told her own therapist, the second a woman who's story was so shaky even the New York Times wouldn't run it, and the third a woman who said she went back to parties where she suspected women were being raped 10 times before being raped herself.

So according to you to be pro liberty you must be anti capitalism, against people who seek to improve their wealth, be against family, and be for having no constitution in the border area. Got it.

You already said there's really no difference between Republicans and Democrats. And frankly you are anti liberty so why do you care if anyone else is pro liberty? The foundation of any great society is the family. America was once pro family. Having more Americans who are pro family is pro liberty. Since you are anti liberty I guess that explains why you are anti family and anti capitalism.

Singapore, according to the Heritage Foundation, is more liberty oriented than the U.S. And the U.S. no longer follows our bill of rights. Fear mongering post 9/11 took care of part of that. Fear mongering over immigration took care of the rest. That is why there is a constitution free zone in the border area around the U.S. Does that not bother you?

Up until recently most Asian immigrants voted republican. It was overwhelming. People like you are self defeating. 1) The Boers never assimilated at that is your litmus test for "good immigrants." 2) LOL at your lie about "most blacks came mostly from the outside." Most of the blacks in South Africa are from South Africa.

I don't care one way or the other about people coming over the border. But Trump is going to do that. He already said he is. You've been suckered. When he was running he talked about a "big beautiful hole" in the wall you want so badly. When he was negotiating for amnesty he was talking bigger numbers than even Rubio. See https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-42825431 Really you are being played for a sucker. And all of this "Let's stop even the LEGAL immigrants" talk only helps the democrats. The legal immigrants are already here LEGALLY. Why should they support your agenda?

Which is not at all to suggest that Ron owns the vote of Johnson supporters, just that if Ron Paul supporters think it won't matter to divert a little voting Johnson's way, it very well could.
