Ha. "Science" You say it as if it's merely a word without meaning to be offered as fodder for public consumption. Do you think that philosophical materialism is the explanatory paradigm into which all "science" must fit or conform? It isn't and it shouldn't be. In science there are no truths. In other words, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence either way. The very nature of science demands that we always ask questions. Always. There are no absolutes. That's "science."

Good post, osan. I'd only add that a man's fear of government-over-man is a healthy product of an educated man. Those who do not know why they should fear such a scenario are doomed to suffer under its authority. Those who become participants in coercion know very little of what it means. And they certainly know nothing of its consequence. It's unfortunate for those who do understand because it makes the machine bigger and more powerful. It makes it harder to fight.

No, probably not that soon. Right now everything is we own is, at one point or another, on a truck. With the introduction of 3D printers and drone delivery and paperless business and whatnot, I agree that day will gradually come. Trucking will be greatly reduced to say the least. It's kind of a downer. Driving a truck is a pretty relaxing job. And an American heritage, really. For many years I got stuck being the truck driver among my main responsibilities. You're always the first one in to work and the last one to get back to shop, sometimes days later. But there's nothing more relaxing than being by yourself for extended hours and not having some asshat behind a desk barking at you. Not only that, but you see some really cool stuff. It's scenic as a mofo.

I want to thank all of my friends here for their prayers. He is doing much better and may be discharged home tomorrow. Just want to share a little story... I have been scheduled to fly this Thursday on a trip (to Mount Athos actually) which was planned a few months ago. I was very excited about going and have been anticipating it for a long time. When my father became acutely ill (he actually went into cardiac arrest as I was driving him on the highway to get to the ED as the interrogation of the implanted defibrillator revealed later). Thankfully, he responded to the shock it gave him. It was the scariest moments of my life and I'm lucky I didn't end up slamming into a tree (it happened just as I was approaching the exit on the highway). Actually, seven times he went into cardiac arrest in the course of 24 hours. By God's grace, he survived.

Why? You want Fox News to be the only channel available? I thought you had more integrity than that.

If you believe that God wants every person equally to be saved, Jesus died for every person, and God gives the exact amount of grace to every person.... Why pray for them to be saved or change? What more can God do? He's already doing everything He can.

In a sense your right. But every Christian loves when the truth of the Bible causes division among unsaved people, because without division, truth can never be. Think about it, in an environment of unanimity, or an environment of subjectivity, how could one ever test his opinions to see what is true or defensible? Clarity comes from opposition. How did you become a libertarian? Was it by continuing to watch Fox News every day? Or did someone create a division in your mind by linking you to a Rothbard article? Think about it.

Also, Ronin Truth would post something, and then intentionally not ever engage anyone who questioned him. How disrespectful. I take time to carefully attempt to answer everyone, from every viewpoint, who questions something I post. It's not the same at all.

I don't view internet banning as persecution. If anything, I was able to get more things done haha. But in a sense, I know why I was banned by certain moderators in the past. Christianity, true Biblical Christianity, is something that natural men hate. They hate it at their core because they know in their heart of hearts that God's judgment is real, and they suppress this truth with all they can. Biblical Christianity strikes at the heart of religious man as well, because it proclaims that God alone saves, which offends his autonomy. Religious man suppresses the truth of God even more viciously than atheists do. I've said for years, and no one has listened to me, that there is a reason that the atheists and all the 'religious' people here are in league against me when I talk about the Biblical view of salvation. Many times, the atheists and the religious people have the EXACT same objections. These objections are the same ones Paul refutes in Romans chapter 9.

I agree with a lot of this post, with some minor exceptions. I don't think natural law is a logically defensible position. I think the right of property comes from the negative command of God (you shall not steal). The command of God, not nature, gives the foundation for a logically defensible concept of property. But I like that post otherwise.

Ok. I say it in love because if I was worshipping an idol, I would want someone to tell me. Maybe not at first, but later on down the line, I would view it as a great act of love. When I was a teenager and an atheist, I would have never become a Christian if the Lord hadn't put someone in my life that tore my worldview to shreds.

It's banworthy to look at the Bible, try to define what it means, and then critique a view that you don't think aligns with it? Why would that be worthy of a ban? I respect everyone here and agree with most everyone on many things about life, politics, economics, etc. There's no room for disagreement? Why? No one has to listen to what I say or believe what I believe. I am a voluntarist. I believe everyone has the ability to live how they want to live and never listen to me at all.

That's why I added my criticism of his post. It's not enough to say there is 'a god'. You must pray to THE God, the only God, Jesus Christ, and in His name, and not to an idol. You pray to an idol, with all due respect.

Biblical Christianity. Because only Biblical Christianity recognizes the absolute sovereignty of God, so it isn't meaningless to pray for the reasons I cited in the OP. If God loves everyone equally and gives the the exact amount of grace, and wants them all equally to be saved, why pray for them? What more can God do? He's already done everything He can.

I said Jesus is the only God. You disagreed with that. That's why I asked you the question. If you disagree that there is only one God, and Jesus is the only God, what am I to assume? There is only one God and Jesus is the only God. God is one being and three persons. The three persons share the one being of God.
