Frau Doktor Mole, the Ars Technica reporter, does a horrendous job explaining (surprised aren't we) the FDA approval process to an average reader. While there may be many clinical trials with their results in the public domain, the only ones that the FDA can consider during an approval are those submitted by the sponsor. The reviewers are looking for broad indicators of safety (their primary concern) and narrow indicators of efficacy AS DEFINED by the sponsor. Once approved, the sponsor can only make the efficacy claims that are in the FDA approval. If they discover new efficacy indicators in post-market Phase IV trials they will need to go back to the FDA for an addendum to the original approval. After the approval, the FDA can consider subsequent clinical trial outcomes from anywhere on the basis of safety to rescind and approval or issue a black box warning. Big PDF warning. Here is the FDA document Q&A on remdesivir released just a few hours ago. XNN

When a candidate tells you to learn to code, that they are going to eliminate your livelihood - you should believe them. As someone living in coal mine country, the O-B Admin said it and did it. Note the inflection point. O-B also first "restructured" FutureGen in 2010, a clean coal technology development started under Bush the 2nd. They then killed it outright in 2015. FutureGen clean-coal plant in Illinois is killed by Obama Administration So yeah, I fully expect that the incoming Biden Administration will first have the Dept. of Energy stop funding all fossil fuel technology development and then follow it up with green energy mandates.

10-19-2020, 08:00 PM Good. I hope more governors follow suite. The FDA is not established in the Constitution. Their approvals should be treated as guidance not diktats from upon high. This is a states rights issue. XNN

Being down 25 points in national polls, Orange Man should be hoping for an alien invasion on the order of Independence Day sometime in the next two weeks. Or maybe "V" is happening and the lizard people have already assumed control of the opposition party. XNN

Yeah, and he still is. If airborne transmission on the virus through micron-sized droplets is the concern then even the best mask is worthless. Back in the Ebola days the only measured considered worthwhile was PAPR. XNN

Whenever a campaign uses a word that is above the 5th grade reading level, you should immediately go look up the legal definition of the word as the groundwork is being laid to weasel out of something. The choice of "cursory" over "desultory" pretty much screams future weaseling. XNN

10-15-2020, 06:20 PM Their amazing response in spring left 99.5% of their population uninfected and therefore sero-naïve. Now that everyone must remain indoors for the most part, we get to watch how the stringent health protocols put into effect keep infections from spreading. So far, not so much. Its a good thing that their prime minister can blame the evil Administration of Orange for the spread of the virus - somehow. XNN

Also disputed is whether Orange Man was once given antibiotics which were derived from earlier research in Penicillin. It is well established that early work in Penicillin was done on Guatemalan prisoners. All subsequent works derived from bad seed is verboten. That's how science works. Its settled. XNN

The sad things is that hyperpartisanship is thought to be something new in American politics. Those opinions continue because of maleducation of the youth. The “Notorious” Hartford Convention It didn't help that New England, tight fisted money managers that they were, found themselves saddled with a war debt. A pitifully small fraction of the GDP relative to where we sit today. XNN

I guess the magic word is "commercial-grade" aircraft since NACA was testing a hydrogen powered B-57 back in the 50's with Project Bee. Only 70 years and a butt load of green subsidies to bring the technology to the private aircraft owner. That will be a nice option when Gov. Newsome outlaws fossil fuel powered Cessna's and Pipers in California. XNN

The nominee appears to be pro-family and pro-faith, may be pro-life (being Catholic in certainly no guarantee) and a follower of the Pope. Not being anti-liberty doesn't necessarily mean being pro-liberty. By definition, a devout Constitutionalists is liberty agnostic because of the acceptance that there are some limitations on personal liberty. XNN

"They sell us the president the same way they sell us our clothes and our cars. They sell us every thing from youth to religion the same time they sell us our wars. I want to know who the men in the shadows are. I want to hear somebody asking them why. They can be counted on to tell us who our enemies are but theyre never the ones to fight or to die." - Jackson Browne Lives In The Balance
