Three more states announce NG troop deployments to D.C. - New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. NC barely leaned Orange Worse Dictator Ever, so that is good to see. I'm sure they are reliable. Maybe they will give tours of the ingresses and egresses of the Capitol building. https://www.governor.nh.gov/news-and-media/governor-chris-sununu-authorizes-nh-national-guardsmen-support-presidential https://governor.nc.gov/news/governor-mobilizes-nc-national-guard-deployment-raleigh-and-washington-dc https://dma.wi.gov/DMA/news/2021news/21008 Both supporting and discrediting the geography hypothesis, two additional states - Massachusetts and Hawaii, add their NG units to the praetorian guard.

Close, but you only get a half of a cookie. Three quarters of that half is lost due to a failure to point out the "separate-sovereigns" clause allowing double jeopardy for NG troops being tried under the laws of their state. THE MILITARY JUSTICE SYSTEM-OVERVIEW XNN

Being expelled from a fraternal organization is the least of these veterans worries in the coming days. Once you join a uniformed service, you can be called back decades later and charged with crimes under the UCMJ. The left likes to poo-poo the Oathkeepers, and the like, saying their oath to the Constitution no longer applies. Today we find the elected politicians on the left calling for veterans who are involved in protests to be called back into service and punished under the UCMJ. Military in the Capitol Insurrection Should Face Courts-Martial Involvement of current and former troops in a failed putsch strikes at the heart of democracy. The response canít be left to law enforcement alone. "Failed Putsch" huh?

I tend to embrace the power of AND here. I recognize that geography place a large part in which states to draw from. It is just easier from a logistics point of view to bring in troops and equipment from eastern seaboard states that from the Midwest or west coast. Most states within a 400 miles radius (completely arbitrary number) are blue states. I also recognize that Adjutant General appointments, which heads up the NG in the states, are political appointments. They are beholden to the powers that appointed them and that is reflected down through the NG officer ranks. S/he at the top plays a big role in who gets promoted. If you are going to draw "house troops", you would tend to get more loyalty from those whose leaders come (or who owe) the political families that support you personally. Both reliability and geography play a part, but the end product at least appears to be intended to produce a loyal product. Combined with the other the other words and actions coming out of DC, I think it bears watching. It may merely be a head fake or a coincidence. Time will tell. XNN

You should do what you believe is in your best interest, of course. Current data indicates that the 0.1% IFR corresponds to the 50-55 age groups (across the world, expect regional differences.)

You know the question that people aren't asking but should? While I understand the frustration with the noise inserting itself into the signal, I'd much rather have it there than the illusion that the signal is pure and uncompromised. The thing about active jamming is that it gives away the position of the source if not the intent. If there is no noise then you end up chasing holes in the water, because you know the enemy is still out there. XNN

With just under two weeks before the B-H Administration ascend to the throne, this little throwdown by China is interesting. China Voices Objections to U.S.-Taiwan Military Talks From Kowtowing for Kids. https://kids.kiddle.co/Kowtow In my mind there is no question that in the coming months Australia, India, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand will be cut free to deal with China as best they can. Only the timing is in question. The easiest thing for the B-H Administration to do quickly is suspend all weapon sales and intelligence sharing. Trade commitments will take a little while longer to unravel. If for no other reason that sudden changes in trade may not give China enough time to take advantage of all the deals that will be left on the table. Don't want the Master to lose any money.

That is both funny and pervasive. I had my septic tank pumped last month in preparation for doing some minor repairs. The foreman on the crew asked if I had a problem if some leaked on to the grass. I snorted and asked him to look around. I was in my muck boots in the yard. I said that I'm walking through, dog, cat, chicken, turkey, goat, and cattle manure several times a day as I do the chores. I have no problem with a few drops out of the septic. He said he probably thought so but had to ask. Most of the homes he does, the owners get really bent out of shape if the service is not pristine. XNN

It will be difficult to find studies on SARS-CoV-2 for all of the specifics that you are looking for. Politics is driving the science right now. The political narrative is controling the funds to conduct the science. I agree with Working Poor that there is likely a strong correlation between stress level and disease expression. Your best approach to support your hypothesis may be to look at other respiratory diseases. I started with the first SARS outbreak (SARS-CoV-1), but found relatively little. Probably because the total number of patients ended up being relatively small. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/070674370404900607 There is actually quite of bit of data around rhinovirus (most common virus of the common cold family) https://www.psychologicalscience.org/observer/social-stress-and-support-factors-in-susceptibility-to-the-common-cold
