I understand that, but I wish Cavuto would've asked some follow-up questions, like, "Congressman Massie, why is it that your colleagues have such a hard time obeying the Constitution," or "What are the planks of the Republican Party that you believe makes you the most consistent Republican in D.C.?" Cavuto gave the impression that Rep. Massie was in serious error for calling a quorum, as if he dared to put other people's health at risk, instead of acknowledging that he understood why Rep. Massie did it. At least Cavuto didn't cut him off. I'll give him that.

That act is the epitome of Nancy Pelosi's philosophy that "we have to pass the bill to understand what's in it."

Rep. Massie did great, as expected. What I hated about that interview is whenever Rep. Massie would give a moral, logical reason for the steps his took, even appealing to the Constitution, Cavuto would ignore that by asking him some emotion-driven question about health concerns, which doesn't excuse Congress from its civil duty to work through this "crisis" that they've deemed is so dire as to force quick resolution by a bill. These people just don't get it, but they'll be the first ones to complain and point fingers once the bill fails as it works its way through the economy.

In Title IX - "House of Representatives" (Page 781) of the CARES Act, it reads: Let's do some math here. The base salary for a representative is $174,000/year. There are 435 members of the House. $25,000,000 divided by 435 is $57,471.26. That means every representative has a pay increase which brings their base salary to $231,471.26, at least, until September 30th of next year. So, this "emergency relief bill" was supposed to be for those who needed, and yet, the House snuck in a pay increase for themselves. Is it no wonder they didn't want to have recorded votes for this bill and rather do it by voice vote? This bill stinks already.

I'm trying to find the section where it gives the House salary increases. Have you seen it?

Pelosi tries to slander Rep. Massie on Rachel Maddow's show (the video is in the link) about his roll-call stance yesterday. The Washington Examiner reports: The rest of the article can be found here.

The Left has never cared about all women; they've only cared about certain women. That much was evident during this 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary race. Once all of the female candidates had dropped out, except Tulsi Gabbard, there was no one from their party who jumped to support her campaign. You would think Tulsi would've been the perfect person for Democrats to get behind: she was non-Christian, non-White, and most importantly, non-male. But, no, the Left couldn't support her, ultimately. Why? Oh, because she wasn't a war-hawk; she criticized regime-change wars, and she advocated diplomacy with Assad. And Democrats couldn't have anything to do with that, whether she was a woman or not. So, it doesn't surprise me that the Left would be selective in their crusades for #MeToo. The only #MeToo they care about is those who agree with their globalist, cronyist agenda.

One thing they can't do is black mail the general public so what is left but to bribe? As we all should know and most have been writing about here is that this system is going to crash. It has done a good job of showing what is really valuable. Nothing is valuable in this system. I suppose most of us are going to accept the bribe. I hope some of us will benefit from it. It won't change my life in any significant way because I have created my own value system. I like the convenience of toilet paper but I can live without it. I found it ironic that the toilet paper aisle was empty while there was still plenty of rice and beans and fresh foods at the grocery store. Some people might come to realize what is important and become winners. I think some smart people could come out on the good side of this. It will largely depend on what they value. Morales will win the day. People who are willing to take responsibility will be the ones most free in the end.

I am convinced that those two problems (one on a collective level, and the other on an individual level) are the main reasons why an economy fails, and it causes people to run to the central government for aid.

Those guys are simply an abomination. They would rather support a candidate who supports Israel than someone who stands up for the U.S. Constitution.

It took him only 10 days to do it, yet we're being told that if Congress doesn't pass a "stimulus" bill, then the necessary assistance to fight the Coronavirus won't get to the people who need it. Capitalism still defeats socialism, even during a pandemic (so-called), as CNN Business reports here. This is what Dyson ventilator looks like:

Yes, and all one passed "stimulus" bill does is set a precedent for other "stimulus" bills to be passed.

I'm not a Trump supporter at all, but Trump's attacks on Rep. Massie destroys any iota of instance that a vote for Trump would ever be considerable, in my opinion. People who claim to want to "drain the Swamp" don't attack others who go after the "drain plug."

That ends the discussion. Anyone who attempts to challenge that should seriously rethink why he or she is a member of these forums.

Once again, that's just you spouting off ignorance. There were all sorts of life circumstances, obligations, and other matters in God's providence that occurred in my life which prevented me from pursuing state and federal candidacies. Just because I didn't get elected doesn't mean I have no right to speak on the issues in which we're debating. As a Ron Paul supporter, you should know what I'd advocate in order to "chop off the head" of the Fed. The problem is most people don't understand the dangers of having a central banking system that controls the currency in an economy. In fact, when you explain it to others out in the field, even on the local level (and the Fed's policies definitely affect us on local levels), they typically will argue in favor of the Fed because they value security above liberty. That's not my fault for not being electable; it just shows that sometimes the electorate doesn't want to be free.

There's a bigger human cost if the bill passes. If you can't see that, then I don't know what you've been learning from these forums for the past 5 years, nikcers.

First of all, you don't know which offices I've run for, so don't just assume that I'm an "armchair quarterback." I happen to believe in Localism, and just because I haven't been in a race that garners national or state attention doesn't mean that I haven't been out in the field looking for votes before. Second of all, being a realist doesn't excuse advocating socialism, if you want to be a supporter of Ron Paul Forums. That name means something. I really don't care what Trump has supposedly done to reduce regulations, lower taxes, or anything else because all of his fiscal and monetary tactics assume that the Federal Reserve has legitimacy in the marketplace. Until we chop off the head of that snake, Trump's so-called conservative moves are nothing more than his moving a few paces away from the socialist line while still being chained by a stake in socialist territory.

Any vote of his in which he votes "Nay" because the bill wasn't in accordance with the U.S. Constitution would be comparable to this one, familydog. Is it wrong for Rep. Massie to take a stand for the rule of law?
