His Life John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born to Arthur Tolkien, who was of German ancestry and third generation English and English woman, Mabel Suffeld on the night of Jan 3 1892. Arthur and Mabel had been married on April 16, 1891. Tolkien would later say, “I am in fact far more a Suffeld than a Tolkien and English than German.” As a baby in South Africa, Tolkien was once stolen by a black boy named Issac. The boy stole him so he could show off with pride a white baby to his village. He was also once bitten by a tarantula; luckily a nurse grabbed him and sucked out the poison, saving his life. . In the spring of 1895, his mother, Mabel, took him and his brother back to England, leaving his father for some time in South Africa to visit family. Soon after, in February of 1896, Tolkien’s father, Arthur, dies. Mabel then returns for good to England with Tolkien and his younger brother Hilary. After living for a short time in Birmingham, they move south and rent a cottage in the town of Sarehole mill. Tolkien was raised in poverty. In 1900, Mabel converted from Anglican to Catholic and they moved into the city. Tolkien and his brother then attend King Edwards School. When his mother joined the Catholic Church, their extended family was resentful and most cut off all their funds and support. Most of their family had been Baptist/Anglican and Unitarian. Tolkien’s fathers had been an Anglican and his father’s side of family was mostly Baptist. At age 10, Tolkien attended St. Phillips School where Father Francis Xavier Morgan had a big influence on his life. He smoked a large cherry wood pipe, Tolkien stated that “my own later addiction to the pipe derived from this.” In 1904, Mabel is found to have diabetes and dies in November, at the age of 34. Before his mother’s death, she gave Father Francis guardianship of her sons. By 1908, the boys move to Mrs. Faulkner’s house on duchess road. This is where Tolkien met Edith Bratt, his future wife. Edith was an Anglican and conservative, actively attending party meetings. Tolkien’s first diary entry of the new year read, “God help me, feel weak and weary, New Years Day, 1910.” Later, in 1911, while at King Edwards School in Birmingham, Tolkien, Rob Golson, Geoffery Smith and Christopher Weisman formed TCBS “Tea Club and Barrovian Society.” TCBS was designed to testify for god and truth. Tolkien’s best friend Chris Wiseman said regarding Tolkien, “he was by nature cheerful...with a great zeal for life.” Wiseman, a staunch Methodist, said they would argue religion without bitterness. Tolkien excelled with languages and words. He studied and learned many languages while at King Edwards. These included German, French, Greek, Latin, Anglo Saxson, Middle English, Spanish, Welsh, and Gothic. He even started to invent his own language by the age of 16. Later in his life, he would also learn more languages as well as inventing his own. A lover of words and languages, Tolkien once said, “as if something had stirred me, half awakened from sleep, there was something very remote and strange and beautiful behind these words.”

Let me get you a kleenex. Or perhaps a towel? :D --- Just a note, this is not just about Total Surveillance. Im sure people are sick of hearing about it constantly. This is also about the JOBS. Its the Jobs at the bottom that are drying up because minimum wage is just cost prohibitive to those at the very tippy top. This is about a giant crack in the foundation of our society as a whole that affects every single one of us at every level. Its also about Education. What good does it do to spend $80k on an education to qualify a person that just went away? Whether it went overseas, replaced by a robot, or for smaller family owned businesses, just dry up and go under. I think we've figured out that making the bottom pay taxes isnt the solution to govt overspending. Its also about the Value of money itself, and by extension, where it comes from. The poor are pushed to surviving by borrowing from the rich to survive, and pay for that with a steady decrease in the value (purchasing power) of their fiat dollars. Dollars that they can only afford to spend in a low cost store where the price of things sold is afforded by employee exploitation and disposability. This is about the Collapse of Main Street. How does one even stay alive in a world where every job is an allegiance to a Mega Corporation, and paid for by Federal Subsidies like Welfare and Food Stamps?

I'm not confused- I'm for Liberty for All. And I remember exactly what I posted. YOU are for Big Gov taking care of you and what you are advocating is totally against State's Rights. If you are "sick and tired of being made into a tax-slave to finance a maternity ward for the poverty stricken populations of other countries who invade America’s borders to give birth", then start doing something to help get rid of Big Gov- and especially in entitlements, medicine, corporate capitalism, etc. THAT is the problem. The freedom of the states, and of all humans, does NOT come from the Constitution. Common Law is what the constitution is supposed to be based on. The Amendments were added because most of the colonists, including famous forefathers such as Patrick Henry, did not trust Hamilton OR the new law they wanted to put into place for a ruling central government.

So, you want more fed gov to take care of states rights that you don't approve of? Just what we need more gov control over everything. What we need is .gov out of everything- including entitlements, education, medicine, property, et al. Then, guess what? FREEDOM.

YOU brought up the 10 Amendment. The 10th Amendment is to INSURE STATES RIGHTS. Under the 10th, the feds have no right to invade a state and tell them what they can or cannot do- especially when common law prevails. The "Civil" War took away the remaining rights of States and made the US into a corporate entity with elites who are only there for themselves. This is completely AGAINST the 10th Amendment that you brought up.

I think that a true Christian society would be completely voluntary, so from the outside it might look a bit like socialism/communism. But as a voluntary society, people would help each other and provide needs for each other because they wanted to- not because they were forced.

It was to appease the Anti-Federalists, who were right. Unfortunately it did not work. States rights were totally lost in the War Between the States and the Fed gov was exactly where the coup had intended it to be. The Tenth Amendment was added to the Constitution of 1787 largely because of the intellectual influence and personal persistence of the Anti-Federalists and their allies. It's quite clear that the Tenth Amendment was written to emphasize the limited nature of the powers delegated to the federal government. http://tenthamendmentcenter.com/about/about-the-tenth-amendment/

So, address the REAL problem. The problem is NOT immigrants, the problem is government. And the Constitution is doing exactly what it was meant to do- install a bunch of elites to a strong central government, who can then rule and reign over everyone else. It was a Hamiltonian coupe to take over the Articles of Confederation that gave the average joe way too much freedom. So instead of screaming at everyone who doesn't worship your version of public education history, maybe you should grow a spine, try researching some real history and start helping with the REAL problems at hand.

and what does the 8th sound like? Exodus 21 23-27. The crime shall fit the punishment and the punishment shall not exceed the crime. . If you believe the death penalty was outlawed in early america i suggest you are not ready to talk on this subject. The issues is with what you see as the 8th as contrary to capital punishment that the bible and founders do not. Here is a sermon on the subject from 1848 https://wallbuilders.com/sermon-execution-1848/ This thread should clear up any misconceptions on the bible and capital punishment including the passages you brought up.
