And that RPR is none other than.... ME!
That's right, I finally won the committeewoman seat for my precinct. I sort of wish I'd won it by beating an opponent, but I didn't; I won by default, because no one else signed up to run for the seat.
I started the local Ron Paul supporter group in this county back in 2007, and we've been gradually taking over the GOP
committee here (like other Missouri counties are doing). As of the last election we had a majority of the seats. This time we will have a super-majority. A bunch of precinct seats remain to be filled because no one signed up for them, and we will be filling them in August with as many RPRs as possible.
Worth noting from the 2012 election, RPRs were elected to all of the officer positions on the county committee and we took several officer positions in local senatorial and congressional district committees as well. These are the people who choose the candidates to fill vacated positions like the US Rep.
When Jo Anne Emerson left her seat open, there were not quite enough RPRs to give the candidacy to
Bob Parker and we ended up with
Jason Smith -- who hasn't done a totally bad job so far, but he doesn't stand on principle all the time (as Parker would without question have done).
