Although the RNC convention is nearly 18 months away, we should start planning today.
The process to become an RNC delegate varies greatly by state, but most involve becoming a precinct, county, congressional district, or state delegate first.
The amount of power that delegates hold is absolutely incredible. While rules vary on local, state, and national levels, delegates are responsible for electing the party leadership, writing the platform, endorsing candidates in primaries, or even directly choosing the nominee for state offices without any involvement from regular voters. Of course, RNC delegates are also responsible for nominating the Republican Party's Presidential candidate.
Knowing that delegates have such great influence on the party and elections...
Are you planning on becoming a delegate in 2012?
EDIT: If you would like more information on the process, please post a reply that includes your state of residence. If you are not comfortable making that information public, send me a PM.
