When looking at all national adults, Obama only gets 45% of votes when vs Ron Paul (as compared to Obama getting 47% or 48% vs Romney, Perry, Bachmann).
This data is broken down more clearly when looking at party information:
Obama only gets 43% of votes from Independents when vs Ron Paul. Obama fares much better with Independents vs the others (44% - 48%).
Also for Democrat votes: Obama gets 84% when vs Ron Paul as opposed to 85% or 86% for other candidates. Ron Paul also fares best among the Republican candidates among the Democratic voters.
We in the grassroots still need to push hard that Ron Paul is the conservative that can beat Obama. That's what Republican voters care about, and Ron Paul has the numbers showing that he will win.
PRINCETON, NJ -- President Barack Obama is closely matched against each of four possible Republican opponents when registered voters are asked whom they would support if the 2012 presidential election were held today. Mitt Romney leads Obama by two percentage points, 48% to 46%, Rick Perry and Obama are tied at 47%, and Obama edges out Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann by two and four points, respectively.
