Gun/magazine registration isn't just for Canada, California and New York. Connecticut is going all in at taking away your rights. CA, CO, CT, NY... what's happening to this country?

Connecticut Gun Owners Wait in Line to Do Something Many Gun Owners Hope They Never Have To

Connecticut residents waited in long lines on Thursday to register their firearms and high-capacity magazines before the state’s new gun laws go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.

WFSB-TV reports that a “long-line of people” stood outside the Public Safety Building in Middletown, Conn., all day to register semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. Several residents were upset with the “unconstitutional” requirement, while at least one person didn’t appear to mind.
Conn. Gun Owners Wait in Line to Register Guns and Magazines

“I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.

Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines, told the news station that he would have a problem with it if the state was trying to ban the magazines or firearms, but said “if they want to just know where they are, that’s fine with me.”
These is even a video for your viewing pleasure

    Quotes from the video:
    ..."that's fine with me."
"I understand why they're doing it..."
1 gun owner even suggested that a better option would be to make it like England and take everything away as a better alternative

DISMISSED! Free speech prevails! The city of Keene, New Hampshire lost $40,000 because Merry Men and Merry Ladies were paying for other people's parking meters = less parking ticket revenue. So it created 2 lawsuits against the Robin Hood of Keene people saying that the 1st Amendment doesn't apply in Keene. Since the lawsuits started, the city lost tens of thousands of addition expected parking ticket revenue and spent around $20,000 on lawyer's fees for the lawsuits. The state of New Hampshire lost thousands of dollars in wasted court time over the course of the lawsuits.

The FSP is now over 3/4 of the way towards the goal of recruiting 20,000 liberty activists to become FSP participants by signing the FSP statement of intent. If you would like to keep the ball rolling, sign up here. http://freestateproject.org/join

Free State Project Passes 75% of Its 20,000 Goal: On Target for Mass Migration to NH in 2015

The Free State Project, a mass migration movement to concentrate 20,000 liberty activists in New Hampshire is advancing to the finish line with more than 15,000 participants now signed up, with thousands moving ahead of schedule.

October 25, 2013 – Manchester, NH – Today, the Free State Project announced that 15,000 participants have now signed up to move to New Hampshire for more liberty. This mass migration movement aims to concentrate 20,000 liberty activists in the Live Free or Die state. At the current rate of sign-ups, the organization anticipates it will “Trigger the Move” in 2015, three years ahead of schedule.

“Reaching 75% of our goal is a major milestone,” said FSP president, Carla Gericke. “I attribute the acceleration in sign ups to things like the NSA surveillance scandal, the TSA, the NDAA, the PATRIOT Act, Obamacare, unconstitutional gun control legislation, and the unwarranted wars under both Bush and Obama. As America devolves into a police state, well-informed people are seeking safe havens. The FSP offers a proven strategy for individuals who are looking for more liberty within a community of like-minded people.”

FSP participants pledge to move to New Hampshire within 5 years of reaching the 20,000 mark, agreeing to the following Statement of Intent: “I hereby state my solemn intent to move to the State of New Hampshire within 5 years after 20,000 participants have signed up. Once there, I will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of civil government is the protection of individuals' life, liberty, and property.” Although not required to do so until the 20,000 milestone is met, almost 1,500 participants have already moved, with more are on the way.

“We know this approach is working,” said FSP founder Jason Sorens, who developed the idea of the FSP as a graduate student at Yale in 2001. The vote to select New Hampshire was taken in 2003. “My wife and I and our 2 year old daughter just moved ourselves, based on the successes we’ve seen other FSP participants achieve on the social and political front.”

Once in New Hampshire, Free State Project participants pursue various forms of individual activism. Some run for office, using the political system to work for reductions in taxation, regulation, and to reform all levels of government to expand individual rights and embrace free markets (successes include: cutting 2010 state budget by 11% or $1 Billion, enshrined jury nullification, passing marriage equality and medical marijuana). Others choose to work outside the system, such as homeschooling, or practicing civil disobedience (successes include Keene’s Robin Hooders). Others bring or start businesses (successes include: world’s first Bitcoin ATM).

Two incidents in the past year resulted in national media coverage, causing spikes in new FSP signers. In December 2012, NH state representative Cynthia Chase called “Free Staters” the “single biggest threat the state is facing today… What we can do is to make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave. One way is to pass measures that will restrict the ‘freedoms’ that they think they will find here.” And in July 2013 it was discovered that the City of Concord, NH had claimed in a federal grant application for a $260,000 Ballistic Engineered Armored Response Counter Attack Truck that “Free Staters” together with “Sovereign Citizens” and “Occupy New Hampshire” posed a domestic terrorist threat, saying the groups presented “active and daily challenges.” The Concord Police Chief, John Duval, later backpedaled and allegedly filed an addendum striking references to the groups from the original grant application.

“We saw our website traffic double and got lots of new signers and supporters,” said Gericke. “Frankly, by showing their true colors, these state agents did us a favor.”

Swiss to vote on $2,800 monthly income for all adults
    http://news.msn.com/world/swiss-to-v...-adults?stay=1

It looks like the Swiss are going to vote on whether the entire economy of Switzerland should be destroyed or not. They already voted to limit executive pay and will also vote on greatly limiting executive pay so much that most executives pay have to go Galt and leave Switzerland. Heck even France might become a substantially better place for rich people to live. This just shows us that no where on Earth is safe from the growing statism in this world.

In a move to combat growing pay inequality, Swiss citizens will vote on whether to give every adult in Switzerland a basic income.

BERNE — Switzerland will hold a vote on whether to introduce a basic income for all adults, in a further sign of growing public activism over pay inequality since the financial crisis.

A grassroots committee is calling for all adults in Switzerland to receive an unconditional income of 2,500 Swiss francs — about $2,800 — per month from the state, with the aim of providing a financial safety net for the population.

    By John Stossel - August 21, 2013
We need police to catch murderers, thieves and con men, and so we give them special power -- the power to use force on others. Sadly, today's police use that power to invade people's homes over accusations of trivial, nonviolent offenses -- and often do it with tanks, battering rams and armor you'd expect on battlefields.

In his book "Rise of the Warrior Cop," Radley Balko recounts the rise of police SWAT teams (SWAT stands for Special Weapons And Tactics) armed with heavy military equipment. SWAT raids began as rarely used methods of dealing with violent situations, like hostage-takings.

    But government always grows.

In the 1970s, there were about 300 SWAT raids per year. "As of 2005," says Balko, "100 to 150 per day."

Concord, NH, Cops Want Armored SWAT Vehicle to Combat "Free Staters" (And Others)
    Brian Doherty|Jul. 29, 2013 11:58 am

    Excerpts:

Concord is poised to accept $258,000 in federal funding to buy an armored vehicle that police say would provide protection for officers and civilians alike during a terrorist attack, riot or shooting incident....

Concord's City Council will hold a public hearing on Aug. 12 about the proposed purchase of a BearCat G3 rescue vehicle, paid for entirely by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security.

The police department applied for the grant on behalf of the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit, which includes 20 local communities, Merrimack County Sheriff's Office and Plymouth State University. The SOU has an "early 80s-vintage" Peacekeeper armored vehicle, but it needs to be repaired "constantly," Concord Police Chief John Duval said.

"Every year," Duval said, "police officers are lost in the line of duty protecting the rights of citizens. Tactical response units go into known lethal, hostile situations.

"And this vehicle is simply a vehicle to remove people who may be in harm's way, remove injured parties and bring police officers in closer."

The New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union [NHCLU] is concerned about over-militarized policing tactics, and for likely good reason:

In its grant application to DHS, the police department said New Hampshire's experience with terrorism "slants primarily towards the domestic type," and said "the threat is real and here."

"Groups such as the Sovereign Citizens, Free Staters and Occupy New Hampshire are active and present daily challenges," the application stated. In addition to organized groups, it cited "several homegrown clusters that are anti-government and pose problems for law enforcement agencies."

Drama in Andy Sanborn NH Senate race. Andy Sanborn was one of Ron Paul's co-campaign chairs in New Hampshire along with Jim Forsythe, and Ron Paul has endorsed his race. His Democratic opponent promised to help his lawyer colleagues from the inside if they donate to the campaign. I don't know, is a candidate allowed to say something like that? I guess so. This isn't good. This law firm is connected to the Shaheen family. There is a US Senator in NH that is part of the Shaheen family. Not good. Not good at all. Andy needs our help. This isn't just about getting Andy in office. It is about preventing his favor pedaling opponent from getting into office.

Sanborn Calls On Nyquist to Return Donations From Colleagues and Clients He Promised to Help “From the Inside”
    Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 08:23AM
    http://www.nhinsider.com/press-relea...olleagues.html

BEDFORD, NH – State Senator Andy Sanborn, candidate for re-election in the 9th District, today called on his Democratic opponent Lee Nyquist to return donations he has received from his colleagues at his law firm that he promised in an email to help “from the inside.”

“Honestly, I am shocked at Mr. Nyquist’s blatant promise to peddle influence within the state house for his colleagues and clients,” said Senator Sanborn.

“Public service is about solving problems and helping the citizens of our state, not giving special help to friends for personal gain. This is truly beyond the pale, and Mr. Nyquist has an obligation to return the donations he has received from trial lawyers to prove he is really running for the right reasons: to serve the citizens of District 9,” Sanborn concluded.

As the New Hampshire Journal reported on Thursday, Mr. Nyquist sentan email to his colleagues at the Shaheen & Gordon Law Firm earlier in the week saying he would “advocate inside the Senate for our courts, our clients and our future clients,” and asking for “substantial donations” to help him do so.
The email also called out Andy Sanborn for supporting judicial reform and being "a stalwart Tea Party member." Read the whole email here.

The Election After the Elections, How Liberty Took Hold in the NH State House

It's true that the 2010 State House election results were the best ever for liberty candidates in New Hampshire. Around 14 Free State Project participants were elected. Dozens of libertarians were elected. Almost everyone the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance endorsed won. However, it is also clear that not all of the 298 GOPers (to 102 Dems) that control the NH State House are pro-liberty the vast majority of the time. Even though the GOP is far better in NH than almost any other state, there are still problems.

The State Reps voted for Speaker of the House. It was a close race against a typical GOPer with a lot of experience and a generally pro-liberty GOPer that hangs out with the NHLA and ...
