Paul, who was previously briefed on the findings of the forthcoming Peter Schweizer book Clinton Cash, said:

This really has been the particular case of the Clinton Cash that bothers me the most and that should bother voters the most. We now have a uranium company that is control of 20 percent of the uranium mining in North America—that’s owned by the Russians. This deal had to be approved by Hillary Clinton and it turns out that the stockholders in that company gave $145 million to Hillary Clinton’s foundation. I can’t imagine how she could be a part of the decision-making process while she received so much money in her foundation—$145 million.
Congress should check her emails to and from Stockholders in that company.

As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well...

And shortly after the Russians announced their intention to acquire a majority stake in Uranium One, Mr. Clinton received $500,000 for a Moscow speech from a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the Department of Transportation, published last week an "advanced notice of proposed rulemaking" on "vehicle-to-vehicle communications."

What NHTSA is proposing could begin a transformation in the American transportation system that makes our lives better and freer — or gives government more power over where we go and when.

In announcing its proposed rulemaking, NHTSA is stressing its intention to protect the "privacy" of American drivers.

"This document initiates rulemaking that would propose to create a new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, FMVSS No. 150, to require vehicle-to-vehicle communication capability for light vehicles," says NHTSA's

Forget that it could ruin his presidential aspirations. Look beyond the possibility he could spend about a century in prison explaining to fellow inmates (with names like Mad Dog and Widowmaker) the intricacies of constitutional law and vetoes.
Those of you who wish ill upon Gov. Rick Perry (and shame on you for doing so) perhaps will find delight in the fact that his indictment already has hit him where it hurts. It’s right there in federal law, specifically the federal law known as 18 USC 922(n), and I quote:
“It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person (1) is under indictment for, or has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.”
Thanks to last week’s indictment, your fun-with-guns governor is now in that category.

“The United States was founded on the belief government is subservient and accountable to the people. Taxpayers shouldn’t be expected to follow laws the Obama administration refuses to follow themselves,” said Stockman. “Taxpayers should be allowed to offer the same flimsy, obviously made-up excuses the Obama administration uses.”

The announcement said under the plan, called “The Dog Ate My Tax Return Act,” “taxpayers who do not provide documents requested by the IRS can claim one of the following reasons:”

    Those include:

The dog ate my tax receipts
    Convenient, unexplained, miscellaneous computer malfunction
    Traded documents for five terrorists
Burned for warmth while lost in the Yukon
Left on table in Hillary’s Book Room
Received water damage in the trunk of Ted Kennedy’s car

Was short on toilet paper while camping

President Obama on Monday warned Russia it will face diplomatic and economic isolation if it does not change its behavior in Ukraine.

Obama's warning came as the State Department said it was preparing sanctions to punish Russia for its intervention in Ukraine and is “likely” to impose them.

Obama said the U.S. would look to hurt Russia's economy if it continued "on the current trajectory they're on."

He said the administration was "examining a whole series of steps — economic, diplomatic— that will isolate Russia and will have a negative impact on Russia’s economy and status in the world."

What on earth is the FCC thinking?

The last thing we need is the government mucking around with news content.

The title of this Big Brother-ish effort by the Federal Communications Commission sounds innocuous enough: “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs.” But it’s a Trojan horse that puts federal officials in the newsroom, precisely where they shouldn’t be.

Don’t take my word for it. The FCC says it wants to examine “the process by which stories are selected,” as well as “perceived station bias” and “perceived responsiveness to underserved populations.”

Perceived station bias? Are you kidding me? Government bureaucrats are going to decide whether a newsroom is being fair?

Keep in mind that the commission has the power to renew or reject broadcast television licenses. During Watergate, Richard Nixon’s FCC challenged two TV licenses of stations owned by the Washington Post. So mere information gathering can become a little more serious, given that enormous clout.

As FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai notes in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, the commission “plans to ask station managers, news directors, journalists, television anchors and on-air reporters to tell the government about their 'news philosophy' and how the station ensures that the community gets critical information.” The first test is slated for this spring in Columbia, S.C.

When the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was passed, the Obama Administration envisioned that all states would implement the program as outlined in the law. However, unlike any federal program in recent history, 27 states have decided not to create a Health Insurance Exchange and instead let the federal government implement it at a cost in excess of $8 billion. This results in a “top down” payment system versus the “bottom up” approach the framers of the legislation expected.

What this means is that some states will have federal marketplaces, and others will have their own locally developed marketplaces for employers and patients. And because understanding the workings of this system and trying to identify and purchase a health insurance product is so complicated, the government is paying “navigators” to guide the uninsured through the maze being constructed to make health insurance more accessible. In California, for example, $673 million in federal money will be utilized to deploy 21,000 navigators to sign up people for the exchange. Reports indicate that each navigator will receive $58 for every person signed up.

According to the Daily Treasury Statement for July 26, which the Treasury released this afternoon, the federal debt has been stuck at exactly $16,699,396,000,000.00 for 70 straight days.

That is approximately $25 million below the legal limit of $16,699,421,095,673.60 that Congress has imposed on the debt.

The portion of the federal debt subject to the legal limit set by Congress first hit $16,699,396,000,000.00 at the close of business on May 17. At the close of every business day since then, it has also been $16,699,396,000,000.00, according to the official accounting published by the Treasury Department.

If the debt had increased by even $30 million at any time during those 70 days, it would have exceeded the statutory limit. But, according to the Treasury, the debt did not do that. Instead, it remained precisely $16,699,396,000,000.00.

Proposed bounties will be $25 for those turning in the wings or fuselage of downed aircraft and $100 for mostly intact vehicles. To collect the bounty, the wreckage must have “markings, and configuration … consistent with those used by the United States federal government.”

Such “trophies” then become the property of Deer Trail.

The ordinance spells out the rules of engagement. Shooters must use shotguns, 12-gauge or smaller, firing lead, steel or depleted uranium ammunition and they can’t fire on aircraft flying higher than 1,000 (a determination made using a range finder or a best guess). No weapons with rifled barrels allowed, and no tracer rounds.

An “engagement” is limited to three shots at an aircraft every two hours. Being unable to bring down the drone within those guidelines, the petition notes, “demonstrates a lack of proficiency with the weapon.”

    ---
"...the Town of Deer Trail declares its supremacy over its territorial boundaries and, with respect to this ordinance, the supremacy and sovereignty of its airspace and its citizen’s right to defend the airspace of the town, their homes, businesses and related properties from unwanted incursions by unmanned aerial vehicles.”
