WASHINGTON – Colorado looks like friendly territory for a Rand Paul presidential candidacy.

The Kentucky Republican senator would beat former Democratic Secretary of State Hillary Clinton 47 percent to 43 percent in Colorado in a 2016 White House match-up, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll. That is similar to findings in November, in which Paul had a 47-44 percent margin over Clinton.

Colorado has been considered an important swing state in recent presidential elections.

Neither Paul nor Clinton has said yet whether they will seek the presidency in 2016. Paul recently said he was “50-50″ on the race and would make a decision after this year’s mid-term elections in November.
