Maybe. Depends on definition of "race". I would be careful about creeping PC or even personal idealism coloring one's view on things that perhaps we do not quite understand sufficiently.

I would add that just because we may accept the existence of race along the line of some clear, complete, and rational definition, it does not follow that issues of superiority/inferiority arise therefrom. Furthermore, the fact that two races may be capable of intermingling genetically, it does not follow therefrom that race does not exist.

As matters of pure semantics, these questions all turn on the underlying definitions at hand.

We have been so thoroughly conditioned to shrink away from the notion of "race" that we forget the most fundamental principles of the scientific mindset, rejecting out of hand entire classes of notions for apparent fear of becoming one of the "abusers". I reject this notion in toto and on its face precisely because of the violation it represents to the fundamental structure of truthful, rational thought and discussion. It is in itself the far greater obscenity than the ideas, the personal revulsion for which, drive one to this violation.

One has to ask what, exactly, was that all about.

Why are people so afraid of the notion that race exists? The progressives have done their jobs so well, that hey have even the otherwise staunch liberty-minded people jumping through hoops and running for the shadows. I steadfastly refuse to play by anyone's rules but my own on such issues, choosing to retain my skeptic's position. If anyone wishes to label me a "racist" because of it, my response is a pointedly-intoned "so what?" in the spirit of defiant challenge to those who would dare presume. I'm not backing down from anyone on such issues and if they do not like it, let them attempt to do something about it because I am well prepared for treating such stupidity in the manner it merits. I do not cower in the face of empty innuendo whose sole intention is to intimidate. I destroy. No mercy. No lying. No bull$#@!. Those who suppose to step to will find themselves sorely disappointed where I am the ill-advisedly chosen target of their stupidities. They will receive a shellacking of such monument and acidity, that upon their deathbed, rather than an awareness of the demons circling overhead, the core of their thoughts will fix upon the treatment I served unto them that day all those decades earlier. I suffer no prisoners.
