I would agree with this, to a point. However, I do believe that we as a population on the mean have gone well past the point of complete restraint.

Consider how well restraint worked for Jews in the late 1930s and 40s. How well did it work for the people of the USSR and China. Did Cambodia fare particularly well? Viet Nam? Uganda? Who?

OTOH, look at South Africa: they showed restraint up front when the whites voluntarily conceded their power to the blacks. Now look at them. They are on the border of chaos with the blacks going haywire, mostly against themselves, but with increasing outward radiation. Once a nuclear power and an economic powerhouse, they are now reduced to nearly third-world status with an ever increasing number of the white population growing in desperation to find other lands to which to flee.

The clear message here is that we are screwed no matter what we seem to do and therefore it would further seem perhaps better that such issues as these grand social frictions be resolved rapidly and without equivocation. But even that holds serious risks, mainly for the vanquished because we appear to be forgetting the practical virtues of mercy and forgiveness to our defeated enemies. That affliction of mind appears to have taken its modern set with the Armistice, where the filthy French and the rotten English refused to be satisfied with the fact that they'd managed to defeat Germany, but felt compelled to humiliate them before the world. Let us not forget that the actual cause of the war was not squarely attributable to Germany alone, but rather was a confluence of shut-eyed, masturbatory ego on the part of the inbred imbeciles that the idiot European Meaner had tolerated for the previous 1500 years in the fashion of the abject and cowardly slave that he is.

The stupid American Meaner was no better, having allowed himself to fall for the false horror of the sinking of the Lusitania such that he became eager to help the English in their fight. Where the $#@! was God in all of this, I can but wonder, for I would have let Germany slaughter England to the very last child had they been of the mind to do so. But the Germans were never so bloodthirsty as either the Limeys or Frogs - not even close. Not, that is, until those two degenerate races of nearly subhuman filth decided finally to "go all the way" with the Germans, thereby guaranteeing the rise of Hitler, whose memory was great, his sense of forgiveness small.

In addition to all the charming qualities of human nature that have showered the race with the manifold blessings of Empire, the advent of mechanized warfare and butchery has ushered in an era where the race of men find themselves firmly set between great rocks and very hard places. We need moderation more than ever and yet it also poses to us risks never before encountered precisely because of mechanized methods of waging war. Further combine that with the demonstrated material primacy of MIND, out of which most people appear to have gone a sprinting, and we appear to have finally perfected the formula for our ultimate and perhaps universal demise as a species.

And yet, when examined with but the most meager closeness, it begins to emerge that the one thing that needs to be eliminated above all others is Empire itself, which by definition means the elimination - the utter annihilation of "government", for it is only government that has ever brought groups of people of such proportions and of so well-armed and trained a nature to bear upon civilian populations that entire species of the race of men have been extinguished from the earth. It has never been small bands of individuals who have marched into cities, raping, pillaging, and putting to the sword entire populations. It has been only by the mental instruments of Empire that such things have occurred. "Empire" is mind; "Government" is mind; "the state" is mind; and mind where mind goes, Brother Ass follows. That is to say, mind is king. Mind is everything.

Therefore, if the raw and unrestrained evil that is Empire, that is government, that is the state, is to be washed from the earth and men returned to a condition of relative decency and cleanliness with respect to relations with their fellows, their minds must be cleansed of the besotted and befouled contaminants that cause them to cling to Empire as drowning men for dear life to random chunks of floating detritus in the murderous seas of a bitter tempest.

But how does one stuff back that which Pandora's box has released? Is there anything less amenable to erasure from this earth than an idea? Does mind not hold with impossibly stubborn hands everything coming to its grasp? What, then, is the answer? Do we even have the right questions?

I do not know.

The only thing for which I seem to hold any reasonable confidence is that the average man stands in dire need of great improvement in his mind if the universal goal is freedom. Entropy of mind and spirit has eroded the race in dire fashion and I do not believe myself to be in exaggeration when I assert that we now stand at the brink of a terrible and opaque abyss - a bottomless oblivion, the only guarantee there being living death for us. That entropy must be fought tooth and nail if we are not to be dragged into that endless chasm by the great weight that the entropy has fixed about our ankles with the chains of our decayed perceptions.

The oceans of trouble upon which I gaze with the eyes of mind are vast and virtually endless. They are complex with countless strands of chaos entangled in the bewildering manner of the great Gordian Knot. The solution I see is so very simple and straightforward, and yet it presents as impossibly difficult to realize because people are so wholly devoted to the poisons that serve to enslave and destroy them.

Were people to free their minds, their bodies would follow. Kings would lose all power between heartbeats because the chains of obedience would have been shattered all at once and for a moment the world, the entire lot of it, would go so perfectly still that the presence of God itself would shine upon us with its gentle warmth and the greater truth of what we are and how we could become would be made apparent to us. The noises that drive most of us to cling to the rot and the poison of Empire would be silenced and we would then see.

There is your answer. I was wrong. I do know. And so do you. It is all here before you, plain as day. All that remains is your decision: remain cloven to that which brings you poverty, misery, disease, and death, or free yourself. The choice has always been there, and it always will be. Nobody and nothing can take it from you. The biblical characterization of the devil is, in this sense, precisely accurate: the evil can force nothing upon you or away from you. It can only tempt, and those temptations are as the most powerfully prying fingers and snapping jaws of earthly material. The greatest triumph of evil is not that it wrests from you with force that which you should hold dearest, but that through mere suggestion you repel it from yourself with lust, vigor, and single-minded determination to be rid.
