Yes, assault rifles are for wounding and killing. But wounding and killing are perfectly legitimate if done to prevent wrongful aggression -- or even to take vengeance for wrongful aggression -- by a well-armed foe. We gun owners need to stop trying to hide behind BS excuses for our weapons -- [I]"this isn't a real assault rifle, since it's not full-auto"..."this gun is just for fun at the range"..."we're law-abiding sportsmen"...[/I]blah blah blah -- and explain to the "common-sense gun restrictions" crowd the REAL reason why it's crucial that Americans be armed with military-grade weapons. We have plenty of historical examples of totalitarianism to point to, including plenty of torture and mass murder by governments. "It can't happen here," the dummies say, but nearly everyone says that before totalitarianism descends.
