Worth & Doubt

Rate this Entry
“Nobody is superior, nobody is inferior, but nobody is equal either.
People are simply unique, incomparable. You are you, I am I.
I have to contribute my potential to life; you have to contribute your potential to life.
I have to discover my own being; You have to discover your own being.”
-Osho

Far to often in today's society we are struck by a need to prove our worth - our worth as a citizen, our worth as a mother or a father, our worth as a teacher, our worth as a student, our worth as a learner, or our worth which encompasses all - our worth as a fully-functioning, emotional, logical human being. It is a truly incapable task.

When you find yourself doubting your worth in any category, ask yourself who is truly doubting me? You will most often times find that the answer to that question is a simple one: yourself. You must not be too hard on yourself, but too often we are our worst criticizers.

A flower does not bloom worrying about the color of it's petals, or if it's growth will be stunted due to the competition of trees, shrubs, and other plants. It does not worry about the condition of the soul from which it grows, and it certainly doesn't worry about a cloudy day. It just does.

Humans, in order to be most happy, must abandon their issues of self-worth and be like the flowers. Finish each day and be done with it. You have done exactly what needed to be done. The universe is unfolding exactly the way it should, and in due time you shall see.
