  1. That was only 5% of the article. Tradition doesn't really prove anything for a Christian, only the Bible does. The Bible stands over traditions and judges them righty and wrongly.

  4. Yes, but Calvinism does teach that all your actions are predetermined, that the responsibility for all your choices, both violent or not, to be from God, thus making God the source of sin and of evil. This the logical progression of Calvinism and an innovation directly against the understanding held by the Church from the beginning. You misunderstand the Scripture, and your misunderstanding is because you take John Calvin's misunderstanding to be yours too. But, whatever, I have already resigned to the notion that you have willfully made your choice on the matter. Peace be with you.
  5. But your objection to me that was that Calvinism says our choices are predetermined.

On the Arminian view which says that God knows everything, including our choices, that means that there are specific choices that will be made, and no other choices will be made.

Don't you see my point? Your view does not absolve you of the understanding that there are a specific script of choices that will be made. God knows them all, according to you.
  6. Yes, but because God knew I would sin doesn't mean it was His will that I sin. God is so big, He can let us do things against His will and in no way is He threatened. Why does He allow us such freedom? Because forced love is not in the image of the divine.
  7. TER,

Don't you believe as an Arminian that God knows everything that will happen? Then you believe the same thing that a Calvinist believes. Even if God only knows what our choices will be, that still means that the choices will be made and there is no other choice that will be made. Think about it.
