Rand vs. the GOP Juggernaut

We will support Rand in 2016 (given that he runs). No preaching to the choir on that. We will cheer him on during the debates and happily march out and check his name during the Primary voting. But I'm starting to have this scary feeling that Rand is only going to have one chance, one very small, slim chance, to win over GOP voters who are already picking up the GOP/Jeb Bush juggernaut "inevitability" vibes. And his chance will come in the first debate, if not before.

The current Jeb "juggernaut":

• He has the "Warhawk"/GOP Foreign Policy team already advising him (posted by randomname, linking to NYT Article)
• He is already raising $millions with a goal of $100 Million by the end of March 2015. Billionaire investors (who in many cases made their money by always putting their money on winning moves), will likely continue to back a perceived inevitable winner, as has already happened with Romney's former donors who knocked him out of contention.
• Rising his political star in Florida, Jeb lean's Obama/Hillary's way on Immigration while publicly criticizing them over the issue. I wonder if the GOP base will overlook this to engage in "anyone-but-Hillary"?
• Jeb has earned money from a firm that champions Obamacare/ACA as a board member, then cutting ties with them, while making sure to criticize it so that his political ads can show him doing it later this year. Speaking out of both sides of his mouth, he will get the financial support of the insurance industry, and the ignorant support of the GOP base.
• Jeb has championed Common Core, even creating a foundation in Florida for its advancement and holding recent events to whip up support among education groups. Here comes the teacher donations!

My overall point: I'm starting to have a scary feeling, like I had with McCain and Romney, that once the party establishment lines up for someone this early, and gets the inevitability boulder rolling, its gonna take a lot of energy to stop it.

But does that mean we are not going to try?
