• Liberty Candidates in Indiana - PARADE REPORT

Big parade today here in Elkhart County, Indiana. The Elkhart County 4-H Fair is underway, which means that one of the largest parades in the state happened this afternoon. Out of all the political groups that showed up, two of the local liberty candidates had the largest groups of supporters. Curt Nisly who is the republican nominee for State Rep had a fantastic showing, and they had a great reception along the route. (Curt really worked the crowd, which is something more candidates should start doing.)

Sheriff Brad Rogers who is running for re-election also had a good group, with around 25 supporters walking and riding with his entry. It was his turn to lead the parade this year, and one man put his signs on his tractor. (So people along the route where exposed to him, or his campaign three times during the parade.) You had one or two hecklers, but they were drowned out by supporters along the way. It is interesting that they aren't mad at him for police brutality, mismanaging the department, or anything that would immediately come to mind. They are upset that he is a constitutional sheriff, who honors his oath of office. Local democrats have chosen a local janitor to run against him.

The democratic entries in the parade where... rather amusing. The congressional candidate had around 10 supporters walking with him, and they resorted to sending a couple of them to walk with the republicans to try and make them look bad. Ethical campaigning for sure...

All in all, it was a great way to get the message out and have fun doing it. Do YOU walk with liberty candidates in your local parades?
