• Walter Jones has died at age 76

    Extremely sad news:

Rep. Walter B. Jones Jr., an Eastern North Carolina congressman who made it his mission to atone for his vote sending U.S. troops into Iraq in the early 2000s, died Sunday on his 76th birthday. Jones, like his father, served his district for nearly a quarter-century.

His death was confirmed by his office.

“I did not do what I should have done to read and find out whether Bush was telling us the truth about Saddam (Hussein) being responsible for 9/11 and having weapons of mass destruction,” Jones said in a 2015 radio interview. “Because I did not do my job then, I helped kill 4,000 Americans, and I will go to my grave regretting that.”

Jones signed more than 11,000 letters to families of dead troops since 2003, an act he told The Associated Press was “penance” for his vote.
He became an active voice against foreign intervention and I believe his sincerity and regrets.

He was the last great one of the old guard, staying in past even Ron Paul despite his failing health. RIP

Amash is doing a great job in there but he needs some more support.

I am very sad to report the death of Rep. Walter Jones:

Washington (CNN) North Carolina Republican Rep. Walter Jones died on Sunday at age 76, according to a statement on the congressman's website.

"After faithfully representing the people of Eastern North Carolina in Congress and the state legislature for over 34 years, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) passed away this afternoon in Greenville, North Carolina. He was 76," the statement reads.

Jones died on his 76th birthday, according to The Washington Post.
Walter was an inspiration, initially he was pro-war but after listening to Ron Paul he changed his mind and became a fierce critic of war. He will be sadly missed.

Here's Walter Jones being interviewed by Alex Jones. Walter was spearheading the effort to remove John Boehner as speaker. He showed us great courage in doing that!

Sad news. And soon the people of Walter's district will probably go from being repped by a great man like Walter to a nasty little MIC troll named Phil Law, who has been lusting after Walter's seat for 8 years.

Rep. Walter B. Jones Jr., an independent Republican resolute in his commitments to ending U.S. wars and diminishing the role of government, died Sunday, He was 76.

      I liked this bit:

Deeply critical of the Bush administration, Jones once said that former Vice President Dick Cheney belonged in hell.
